At this moment, Remington Walker stepped in, like a knight in shining armor. Remington made her started to remember that she was a woman too who needed to be loved. But it was a no coincidence that the man just showed up at Libby ranch. He was a private detective who needed money badly, that had been hired by Libby's father to find out where his daughter was. He also had a hidden agenda toward Libby's father who destroyed his father years ago. So when love and vengeance collided , what path will Remington choose? Did he dare to confess all to Libby and ask for her understanding and her forgiveness? While Mr. Vanderhoff, Libby's father had hired other detective and had known where she was, and will do absolutely anything to get her back into his possession. A GEM! A MUST READ BOOK! I bought this book from a used book store cause I just need some books to spent the time. It turned out I can't put this book down since I started reading it. A fast pace story with strong characters and believable story line , that will make us fall in love with this book just in second. This was the first of Robin Lee Hatcher book that I read and definitely would not be the last one. Good work, Mrs. Hatcher!

History is love...love is history
Yankee Brent and Belle Taylor,
A loving tale that must be told.
She loves the young son, and
His father, tho' old.

As our new country is divided,
Sweat, blood and tears are drawn.
But what a feast for the senses
To witness forbidden love on Spring Haven's lawn

As the war plays out its crime,
The father does die, as it is his time.
A new widow is Taylor; and a miracle sent,
As the babe that she carries
Is from the young, wonderful Brent.

So the story goes, with Brent stealing kisses,
As Yankees are scorned paying belles visits.
But he adores his new daughter,
And solemnly swears,
To make Taylor his very own Mrs.

Keep telling us, fair author, of what
Does become, of this beautiful
Lass, her Brent and little one!

EXCELLENT TWIST
[Taken from the back of the book] DOUBLE TROUBLE...... Thans to his mischievous twin nieces, it didn't take long for cattle rancher Ian O'Connell to reach the end of his rope. But he thanked his lucky stars when his lovely neighbor Shayla Vincent helped restore order to his trouble-prone household....... LEADS TO A HEART FULL OF LOVE! Gratitude didn't touch the surface of what Ian felt for Shayla. With her gentle tenderness and beautiful smile, Shayla brought sunshine back into Ian's lonesome heart. And now he had a yearning to settle down with sweet Shayla. But his independent-minded darlin' was one love-shy lady. Can Ian convince Shayla that together they could have it all? ***** Excellently written - intirely different from her Historical series - just on a simpler scale -- enjoyable reading -- couldn't put the book down --- Shayla's sister Anne was quite different from the expected -- And I would like to learn more about Ty, the ranch hand ---- The twins were adorable and helped Shayla to shine and bring out her nurturing quality [which I think she was trying to repress]Need to find more men like Ian --- Good clean fun!

An okay read - nothing special
I do have to admit that I had a hard time putting this book down. I read it in about 3 sessions over a couple of days. It's fast-moving and entertaining.

The story opens when Christian wife and mom Erika Welby receives a letter from a child that she had given up for adoption many years before. The author uses the technique she did in her "Ribbon of Years" novel - she intersperses the present-day story line and flashback segments which took place in the late 1970's. This is an interesting technique and does help keep the reader's interest up.

However, when it comes to fiction, I'm looking for something more than an interesting story that keeps you reading. I really felt that the characters could have been much more developed. I also found it quite predictable.

I love to read, and I read mostly non-fiction - I'm careful how I "spend" my reading minutes. In Christian fiction, I'm looking for something a bit deeper than just a nice story. I'm not saying that this book is shallow, but maybe I'm pickier than the typical Christian fiction reader.

Fans of this author will enjoy the short preview of Robin Lee Hatchers' upcoming book "New Wine: A Love Story" which will be coming out in the fall of 2003.

An adoptee relates!
As an adoptee, I was utterly overwhelmed to read this book! It is one of few fiction books about adoption that actually get it right- from everyone's perspective! The feelings expressed by all members of the triad are right on target, and I would highly recommend this book to anyone touched by adoption!

A contemporary , believable love story!!
Erika and Steve are a happily married Christian family with one great kid, teenager Ethan. They are active in church and community. They have close friends in Dallas and Paula Hurst. Their world suddenly turns upside when a letter arrives from Kirsten, the 22 yr. old daughter born SECRETLY by Erika out of wedlock. Marriages are strained, relationships are shattered and new love is found. Those characters which were rock solid begin to waver and act like sanctimonious jerks. Is faith in God going to be enough to get them through this crisis, or will the human emotions take over?
This was my first book by Robin Hatcher but will definitely not be my last.

An okay read - nothing special
I'm sorry to disagree with the other two reviewers, but I really didn't find Robin Lee Hatcher's latest book to be that great. It did hold my interest enough for me to finish it in a couple of days, but I guess I was expecting more.

The author uses the technique of interspersing present-time segments (very brief - usually only a page or so) with longer sections that were being told to Julianna by Miriam's old boyfriend from her early years. The sections each come out of an object taken out of a box of memories.

I would've liked to have seen more development of the present-day character, Julianna. The story would've been much more compelling if we knew more about her life, and how it was being influenced by what she was hearing about Miriam's life. And I thought that the end was just a bit too predictable and a bit too tidy.

At the end of the book, there is the Prologue and the first chapter of the book that Mrs. Hatcher is writing which will be published during Summer 2002.

I've read it 5 times
I am a long time fan of Robin Lee Hatcher's writing and have read every book she's written. But this is by far my favorite of all. I've read it five times and will read it again. What I have always loved best about Robin's writing is her ability to pull a reader instantly into the story. That was certainly true of Ribbon of Years. I am eagerly looking forward to buying a copy of Firstborn as soon as it's released.

Couldn't put it down!
I know the "couldn't put it down" line is a bit cliche, but it was definitely true about this book. Miriam's story is a wonderful example of how a life of faith can impact others. This book will linger in my mind for a long time to come.

This was a sweet love story
I really enjoyed this book, I like the sweet western romance novels and this one fits the bill. I also like the way she has two love stories going at one time. If you like older LaVryle Spencer, and Dorthy Garlock books I think you will like this.

Inspiring & heart warming
This is my third book of Robin Lee Hatcher. My first book of hers was the FOREVER, ROSE. I was deeply taken by that book so I bought the sequels. Had I known earlier that this is a series, I would have read the book in order. Anyway, much to my surprise, REMEMBER WHEN is even better, it's more heart warming than the FOREVER ROSE & WHERE THE HEART IS. Reading the first two books of course, gave more impact on this one. I am now in the process of reading Kiss me, Katie. I suggest the reader to read the Americana Series in order. It'll make a huge difference.

Here's the series in sequence:

1st: WHERE THE HEART IS ------> 2nd: FOREVER,ROSE --------> 3rd: REMEMBER WHEN ------------> 4th: Kiss me, Katie.

I have read many sequel books and normally, the second/third books of any sequel novels aren't as good as the first one anymore. Even though I haven't read the whole series yet (one more to go), I think it is now fair to say that I find all three books satisfying. Each book gets better, story get more exciting.

The Americana series is about a town called Homestead, Idaho. The creation of the town beginning with just few families in small farm houses, one main street and only few stores to it's booming times with railroads and big hotels. I have only read three of the series but so far, it makes me feel like I am in the town itself. There are many characters aside from the two primary couples. It contains love stories as well as family and neighborly love scenes. Many heart warming scenes of people helping one another. Like every small town, everyone knows everybody's business and gossips cannot be avoided. Though I find that flaw amusing in many ways. My favorite aside from the romance story is that each book contains many updates of the characters from the previous book. I also enjoy reading books about children and their growing up years especially if they become the couple in the next book. It is like keeping track of a mini series in T.V.. This is what makes the series so interesting from the beginning to the end.

REMEMBER WHEN is a love story of Tom/Fanny and Sara/Jeremiah. The way R.L.H wrote their romance is simply inspiring. Started out as friends developing into something special. I specially like the way R.L.H wrote Jeremiah. The more you read, the more you understand his fears of loving again. Meanwhile, here's Sara reaching out to him. Tom's unconditional friendship then love for Fanny, who was first judged by most town people for working in the Pony Saloon. Then later, the acceptance. The unusual circumstances & the twist of story makes this book more exciting. Tom & Sara's brother-sister realtionship gave an additional warmth to this book. I had to finish it in one sitting. Otherwise, it'll leave me thinking about it the whole day. GET IT & READ IT!
