Little Surfer's Book
This is an excellent book for the little ones. Great intro to the world of surfing.

A surfer's dream.............
Moki and The Magic Surfboard is a delightful tale of a gecko who wants to surf the biggest wave in the world. With the help of a magical surfboard he gets his wish and then some! His biggest lesson though is not in the power of the magical surfboard, but in the power of being a true friend.

This book is filled with colorful illustrations that are bound to make any child's imagination soar. This book is a must for all families with a love of the water and surfing!

Big Red Rocks!
This was the first book I ever read by myself. I have been searching for it for years, and I was (and am) absolutely ecstatic to find it and to be able to buy it! It is an awesome book with a very simple story about, you guessed it, a big red fire engine. The book features adorable illustrations and comes with a word list on the back of the first page. It is a cute book, fun to read, and a great way to get young kids into reading.

Tons Of Fun
The jokes are great! It got me right from the start. An excellent introduction to an excellent series.

My older brother liked it a lot too
The part when he solved the mystery the best except when he got kissed. That was very sick. I am reading the second book. My brother wants to read it too. I liked Chet and his partner the Mockingbird the best.

"Chet" same character as pi (P.I.)
In Hebrew the character "Chet" is written the same way as the Greek character "pi" (any circle's circumference divided by its diameter = pi). So Chet's first name *sort of* means pi (P.I.: Private Investigator). Just another of Hale's endless, clever puns.

A different view of a classic rhyme...
This version of 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' is carefully and thoughtfully photo-illustrated by Bruce McMillan. The book's self-proclaimed purpose is to interpret 'a traditional verse in a contemporary manner'. McMillan therefore uses as his model for Mary an African-American first-grader whose loving lamb follows her to school. Special techniques were used to allow her glasses to be included in the illustrations, a rare depiction in children's books. The setting is much more traditional, including a schoolhouse with a bell and a Border Chaviot lamb who is captured well by McMillan's lens. A note at the end of the book gives a history of the poem, its original form, and it's use in early reading textbooks. McMillan uses colour and contrasts to draw the reader's eye. All in all, children should readily identify with this modern update, and it would be very useful when putting together a multicultural collection. Furthermore, the version I have is 9 by 10 inches, a good size for those sharing stories with several children at once. This could be a very special book for a child, for a storytime, or for a library collection.

Artistic Masterpiece
Our daughter keeps asking to read this classic poem/song again and again. Mayor's illustrations are a masterpiece of three-dimensional textile work, combining many different techniques. She has also captured many historical details of the era in which the poem was originally written. The result adds depth and detail to a simple story, which makes it a pleasure to read again and again.

Visual new take on classic poem
Mavor is a genius in using scraps of whatever to create a textural world that is as comfortable as this classic story poem. Look at each page, and look again, there seems no end to details that embellish these sewn illustrations. Yummies for your eye, and if only we could touch!

Farewell my Lunchbag
Wow that book is really amazing! if you havent read it you really should. the reason I like thie book is you think it is one thing but then the theif turns out to be someone u dont really suspect. For example (I am not going to use what the book said because I dont want to give any thing away, to new readers) as I was saying say that before Chet gets knocked out he thinks he saw a (example) slug. but then he hears about something else sneaking around the school a Snail. then the theif turs out to be the snail (example). I really enjoy the book, like I do with other books, that have other books connectied to it.If the author reads this I hope that you see my point for this book. Thank you I hade a pleasure reading it.

book review
This is a wonderful mystery. It is also funny. I recommend it to mystery and/or commedy lovers. It has many good lines that will keep you laughing for hours. When I read I couldn't put it down. The suspence is a killer. I think the author did a great job writing this book. I really think people should read it. It is excellent!

The Small Hints of Chet Gecko and Farewell My Lunchbag
This is a really good book to read for ages 8-12. There are a lot of interesting things you get to learn in the book, cool characters, and also funny sentences. Also, I think this book is great because once it gets very interesting it doesnt let you put the book down. You just want to read it until the end and then more Bruce Hale books of Chet Gecko!

Aweful Children's Book
This is the worst children's book I have ever read. My fourth grader had to read this book for school. He had a very difficult time realating to the story. I read it myself to see why he couldn't identify with it. The author smothers the pages with supposedly "cute" little quips that only add confusion to the story for a child reading at this book level. Sifting through these quips make it very difficult to stay with the very simple plot. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Tons Of Fun
The puns are great! This book definitely did'nt let me down

Loved It!
My daughter loved this book! She read it in 3rd grade and it inspired her to read the rest of the series in 4th grade! She finds the plots very interesting and fascinating.
