It was great!
I'm a boy who has always been interested in flight. This is a great book because it really leads you through all of the experiences Viki Van Meter had. I could almost see Greenland from the cockpit of the plane! This book was so good that I want to take flying lessons. I think that anybody that is interested in what it is like to fly should read this book. Like I said before it's GREAT!

This book is absolutely great!
Hi!. My name is Peter. Our Dad takes us flying in a Cessna 180 and I can tell you that Vicki really captures the spirit and adventure of aviation.

My Dad let us stay up late several nights because we just couldn't put this book down. During the day, I even took it to nursery school.

I really liked the part about how Vicki keeps flying the plane even when she gets airsick in all the turbulence.

She makes my sister and me want to live a life full of adventure. We think Vicki is a great girl. She is amazing.

By following her story, she will inspire you to do amazing things, too.

It Rocks!
I really enjoyed this book because I want to become a pilot when I am old enough. It was a book that once I picked it up, I just couldn't put it down! Once it even made me have to (or want to; more likely want!) go to sleep at 12 Midnight! I found it when reshelving books at school and I just couldn't wait to start reading it. (which was around lunchtime) I really hope you enjoy it and good luck to/in your possible aviation career from being inspired from this book. I have wanted to fly for a while! Bye. (or an even better thing:buy!)

Figure Skating Sensation
Gutman has written a clear, concise book about figure skating. It has biographies on today's skaters, skating history and wonderful photos (both black and color). It has lists of competitions and their winners. However, you may want to read something a little more recent. But it's still a great read!

Very good info. loaded with interesting facts & trivia .
Is just as informative to adults as adolescents as both an outstanding introduction and detailed insight into figure skating. Gutman has virtually every sentence count and wastes few, if any words, in this succinct book. Touches a little of everything only to fire your interest even more. Probably best for countless engaging facts and trivia. Difficult to imagine another book on skating where you can learn any more in the same number of pages. American translation: Lots of fun to read.

Dan O'brien is an inspirational athlete and a great person.
Dan O'brien is a inspirational athlete and a great person. Not only has he survived the hurdles thrown at him in his life, he excelled past them to truly beat the odds. What is so great about this athlete? He is honest. In his past he has done drugs, drank alcohol in the excess of becoming an alcoholic, and partied a bit too much. Yet he admits it. He not only was ashamed of his past but knew that he need to turn his life around. He did it with the help of longtime coach Mike Keller and excelled not only on the track but in life also. It takes a big man to admit he is a failure. But it takes a bigger man to change his ways. Not only did Dan O'brien do both of these thing; he also became the Worlds Greatest Athlete of all time!!

Qwerty Stevens Back in Time: The Edison Mystery
Thirteen-year-old Robert Stevens, known as Qwerty for the mistake he made in his third grade keyboarding class, unearths in his backyard a large mysterious wooden box that has the name Thomas Edison inscribed with gold lettering.

Qwerty and his best friend Joey who lives in West Orange, New Jersey in a community called Llewellyn Park bordering the mansion that Edison once lived in,locked themselves in his room to discover what was in the aged box. To their surprise, it was Thomas Edison's time Machine.

Unsure whether to give the machine to the authorities, sell it for millions, or take it to school to show off to their friends, the boys decided to find out how the time machine works before bringing it out of obscurity.

Qwerty hooked up the wires from the machine to his computer and with a touch of a button he was transported into Thomas Edison's workshop where he helped him develop the electric light bulb. Qwerty Stevens had no problem getting there. However, he needs his older sister, whom he hardly says more than one word to, to help him return home safely.

The author cleverly depicts Edison's story while adding circumstances that bring his character into the 21st century. In addition to the text, Gutman includes a "Truth and Lies" section in the back of the book with one recommendation "Read the story first!" Also included are black and white photographs of Edison's mansion and laboratory. In the far back of the book is the chronology of Thomas Edison. Younger children will also enjoy this book as a great read aloud. Living in the next town over from West Orange, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because the author captured the authenticity of the town. Children everywhere will enjoy this book but I know it will be a big hit in New Jersey.

Another Kick!
Dan Gutman has done it again with "The Million Dollar Kick", a sequel to "The Million Dollar Shot".

I know Dan Gutman through e-mails, I once met him at my school two years ago in Oklahoma City.

The character in this book "Carmen Applegate" was the name of my librarian at my elementary school. Also, another small character "Dan Mills" is the librarian at my middle school. "Bobbie Frisk" is the name of a teacher in the same district, though I have to tell you I don't her.

Please try to read all of Dan Gutman's books, they are very good, and I am sure you will enjoy them.

And also go to [their website] and find out about Dan's books, do some cool activities, read some of his rejection letters for "Honus & Me", and a lot more cool stuff!

EXTRA! EXTRA! KID WINS PRESIDENCY!
This book, although not my grade level, and no I am not retarted nor slow(just type 4 words a minute....j/k), but it is funny and teaches you about the government and stuff. "Let the Kid Run!"
I was assigned to read this book for a school reading project. I started reading and thought the book would be boring because I'm usually not into those kind of books, I'm more of a fantasy reader. I read the book in one day! The story is of 12-year old Judson Moon. He runs for President of the United States as a "goof." But his friend, Lane Brainard, is serious about the election. He becomes Moon's supervisor. Almost against his will, Moon is a candidate for President 2000. You will love Moon's hilarious campaign antics. Stay tuned for the surprise ending!

Honus & Me
Honus & Me By: Dan Gutman Would you like to read a book about Honus Wagner? What about baseball history? Well here it is. The book is Honus & Me. It is a very interesting book with a lot of facts about Honus Wagner. Joe Stoshack loves baseball. One day when cleaning up his next store neighbors basement Joe found a Honus Wagner card, the most valuable card in the world! In the middle of the night Joe wakes up and face to face with him is Honus Wagner. Now they will go to the past with Honus Wagner. They will go on the one of the greatest journeys ever.

Honus and Me
This is a great book! First, Honus comes to the future to meet Joe Stoshack and then they both go back to Honus's time. Joe gets his dream and gets to play in a professionall game. At the end something REALLY COOL happens. I encourage all kids who are interested in baseball to read this book. P.S. I'm not giving any more away otherwise I would ruin the surprise!

Cool Book!
When a boy finds a VERY RARE baseball card in someone's attic, he is faced with the decision whether to return it or not. There are only 40 of these cards in the world! With this card he is able to meet the baseball star Honus Wagner. He goes back in time and finds himself an adult, bats for Honus Wagner because Honus's hand was hurt, and actually hits a home run! I am no baseball fan, but I have read ALL of Dan's books about baseball and loved them, and this was probably my favorite. P.S. This has a surprising ending, which is really cool, but I'll let you find out about that for yourself!

His ticket to the past, a simple baseball card from the year he wishes to travel. A Great Book
Are you looking for a wonderous book too read? You should read "The Million Dollar Shot". The book is about a boy who shoots a basket for a Million Dollars. During the story he meets a girl that looks like a boy. The girl and Eddie would meet together at a basketball hoop close to their houses. They would talk and play H-O-R-S-E. When he hears that there was a shot for a million dollars he wrote a poem and sent it in. When he got a letter in the mail he was amased he had won the contest. I think the book was amasing. It had a lot of detail. If you like sports and you like basketball. You'll like this book. If you want to find out if he made the shot or not read this book and find out. It is a mystery.

The Million Dollar Shot
In the book, "The Million Dollar Shot", a boy named Eddie Ball sends in an entry to a poetry contest but he doesn't win. The prize was a chance to shoot a free throw shot during halftime at the first game of the NBA finals. Although his entry didn't win, Eddie still wins the chance to make the shot for one million dollars. Will he make it? Find out when you read it for yourself. Go to your public library and check it out. It is a great book and I recommend that you read it.

The Million Dollar Shot
I think you should read the Million Dollar Shot. It is interesting because it is a dream of any kids to shoot a shot for 1 million dollars. In the beginning Eddie Ball lives in a trailer park. His mom works for Frinkle Foods. When Eddie's mom gets fired he enters the poetry contest. If you got one chance to get back at the person who was firing everybody in town. Would you take it. Eddie won the contest and someone doesn't want Eddie to make the shot. Eddie is at the foul line. He closes his eyes and shoots. If you want to know what happens read the book.
