Very handy guidebook and fun to read
This is the second edition of the original guidebook and while I didn't read the original one, I can say that this book was very handy to have when my wife and I toured Vermont. T The Schellers are very entertaining people who obviously have a sense of humor and they also have a good sense of what is interesting to visit and what isnt'. They also must have done a lot of driving. We tried out two of the drives they suggested and were amazed at all the things there were to discover along the way, not to mention the physical beauty of Vermont. Even looking at a map I doubt we would have discovered these drives on our own. We tried out some of their "finds" which I'd say were places we never would have found on our own and they made our trip truly special. The book is an amazing collection of information that covers history, hours of operation, interesting little tidbits and so on. Definitely worth the money.

A truly wonderful guide book that made my trip memorable.
My wife and I recently toured vermont by car and we were very glad to have this book. It made the trip a unique and memorable experience. We were able to find lots of little places that we never would have discovered without it, and met people "off the path" that were genuinely glad to see us. I strongly recommend this book to anyone planning to drive through vermont, even if it's only a short trip. Great book and very funny in places, too!

Reccomended by the accidental quilter
I bought this book to use in a class on paper piecing. It's a good intro to paper piecing and the vests are great. There are three major pattern styles--but endless possibilities. I made my Mom's birthday vest from the pattern in this book, and I made a sewing vest for myself out of quilt scraps. These are art vests and if you don't wear vests--they look great hung on the wall too. Carol Doak is clear and accurrate and she doesn't leave out any of the steps. Vests, paper piecing, a creative jumpstart--are all here--what more could you want? Mary Z. Cox the accidental quilter

Attractive Stylish wearable Art!!
Another of my cherished Foundation piecing books - my second Carol Doak one. What a lovely selection to choose from. I hope vests don't go out of fashion too soon. These are all very special. Vest patterns in a number of sizings and styles are included but the techniques can be used on any pattern you have. Well worth having.

Great Read
I thoroughly enjoyed this book about Catherine Booth. I had known she was a vital part of the team, but I didn't realize the extent of her influence on her husband. This is a book I'm keeping in my library. It's well worth the space

Excellent introduction to GFP
This book is really interesting to read, it covers many types of applications of GFP, and is also packed with nice pictures that make it fun to read. Lots of helpful hints too. Highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of using GFP. This book would be useful both to those just starting to use GFP as well as experienced researchers looking to see what others have tried.

Approach with Care
This handy volume is a near-must own for beginners and beginning intermediate quilter's. However, the instructions included must be approached with care. Unfortunately it is usually necessary to slightly adjust the instructions to complete the quilt properly (which may be difficult for real beginners). The half-square units quick-piecing method is a ridiculous waste of time and fabric. The quilt's included are great and I refer to my copy frequently for inspiration.

The Joy of QUilting is a Joy to work with
Excellent book for beginners to intermediate quilters. Good step by step instructions and diagrams. Clear advice, and progressive designs.

One of my top recommendation for beginners
This book is perfect for the beginner to interm quilter. Each chapter presents some new key concepts and then incorporates in them an attractive quilt. The book is full color with loads of photographs showing what to do.

Great book
This was the required text book for a class in musical theater in college. I found it informative but lacked many details that I would have like to have known.

Could use more frequent updates but...
overall a nice book covering the Bway Musicals. I happened to purchase one for a friend who attends the theater (both Broadway and off-Broadway) religiously and she was very happy with the gift.

A true must-have book for all musical theatre fans!
This book has proven and indispensable part of my theatre library, and if you get it, it will become one for you as well. Want to know what date the original production of Show Boat opened on Broadway? This book will tell you. Who the original stars of Mexican Hayride were? That's in here, too. You will be able to find the answer to just about any question you could ever ask of Broadway's hit musicals. A perfect companion piece to Ken Mandelbaum's Not Since Carrie (which chronicles the flop musicals this book mostly excludes), and a wonderful way of tracking the history of the Broadway musical, Broadway Musicals: Show by Show is as comprehensive, helpful, and essential as reference books on Broadway come.

The Kidnapping of Aaron Green
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (2000)
Author: Terry Kay
Amazon base price: $15.00
Used price: $4.73

Intriguing questions
Aaron Greene is kidnapped on the way to his job in the mail room of a bank. There is no obvious reason for his kidnapping. Aaron is a "nobody", the type of person that people just don't notice or remember. The kidnappers demand 10 million dollars to be paid, not by his family, but by the bank. The manager of the bank can't even place who Aaron is and refuses to pay the ransom.

Aaron's kidnapping becomes part of a media circus. Who is Aaron? Why was he kidnapped? And who is ultimately responsible for someone no one can even remember?

There are many wonderful characters in this book. People that you remember when the book is finished. There is humor and friendship and caring and also some surprises.

Terry Kay can take a subject and completely turn it around into a whole new story.

If you want to try something different, read this book. I think you'll like it.

Great read
This was the first book I've read by Terry Kay and can't wait to get his other books. The premise of the story was intriguing - the kidnapping and the value of a "nobody". Mr. Kay has a descriptive writting style yet it never gets bogged down. Would definitely recommend.

In one word - EXCELLENT!
This is the first book that I've read by Terry Kay - I held me entralled from beginning to end. Wonderful characters, great plot line and a clear message that people never REALLY see you. I felt strongly for Aaron Green - and thought the ending of the book (the whole book) was brillant! Kudo's to you Mr. Kay, looking forward to your next novel!

Easy quilts that look difficult
The quilts in this book are easy to construct, but have the look of more complicated designs, because of the use of color. If you want to learn how to use color value to make secondary patterns, this is a good starting point.

One sidded trash.
This book is a very one sidded view of negative news paper and other articles collected that sheds only a bad light on this breed of dog. This type of "journalism" is very dangerous.

wasted trees
Eh gads! I hope these people really dont consider themselves authors after this!

Just a laundry list of bad news
All this book contains are abbreviated and one sided news reports on incidents involving pit bulls. There is no author, no opinion, no photogaphs and no real substance to this book. It seems to have been created to just be a collection of dry straight forward abstracts and can only be viewed as a reference for that. Absolutely uninteresting.
