A Taste For Money.
Wow! What an excellent book! As soon as i started i could not stop. I finished in 3 days. The compelling story of 3 men overcome with the plague of greed is absolutely fantastic. Great graphic accounts and and overall outstanding job in all areas of the book. This book satisfied my thirst for mystery, action, and a law enforcement genre of a book. Every account was significant and the story unfolded very vividly thus, making the book one of the best i have ever read. Now i cant wait to read both of the others. Pete i wont hesitate to say YOU are the man and thanks for the good read.
"taste of Money"
What in incrediable book. I started reading it and just could not put it down. These boston police officers did what, most parents of young children want to do to drug dealers.
I can not wait to read Pete Mars next book The Tunnell.
Peter Mars does it again
If you like "true crime" you will enjoy this tale of a rogue cop on the take. Once Mr Mars completes his tedious research of his characters he writes a poweful novel about their greed that certainly is a page turner. Right from the very first "pay off" Joseph O'Fallon will take you on a ride through New England that you wont forget. You will ask yourself does crime really pay or doesn't it. So read it and find out what happens to Joseph O'Fallon and his cronies. You won't be able to put this book down. I'm waiting for his next book to be released in October.

a challenging study in the folly of political obsession
Michael Glover paints a compelling portrait of the blind pursuit of fantastic political ends. Napoleon overthrew the Bourbon royal house of Spain even though it was the only significant ally which had never gone to war against him. The emperor's reasoning (such as it was) is presented by the author with due regard for his sources. Glover shows us Napoleon writing to Marshal Murat explaining in detail why an invasion of Spain cannot possibly succeed. On the same day as he penned this letter, Napoleon offered the Spanish crown to his older brother, Joseph. The results of this folly are presented in a superbly paced and meticulous narrative. King Joseph appears as a well-meaning incompetent. The French military commanders in Spain are presented as quasi-independent satraps, motivated by combinations of greed, lust for power, and mutual jealousy. Behind events are the figures of Napoleon and Wellington - the former trying to control Spanish affairs from as far away as Poland - the latter taking real control by remaining on the scene. Events build to a climax which seems both tragic and inevitable. Anyone interested in the Napoleonic period will benefit by this book. But more than that, Michael Glover presents a story which transcends a particular time and place to show us the folly resulting from any obsession which blinds political leaders to reality.

Famous Story Expertly Told
As anyone who has ever read of Rorke's Drift or seen The Great Movie, the events of January 1879 in Natal bear regular retelling, and for the purists no detail is without significance. This short summary of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift is expertly handled and contains some details of the battles and their brave participants which are to be treasured.
No writer of fiction could evoke more drama, tragedy, heroism or humanity than that surrounding the fearless Zulu Impis and the 24th Regiment of Foot. Readers will find that Michael Glover has put it all in a nutshell.

The Tunnel of a Cop's Mind...
Mr Mars' "The Tunnel" is a suspenseful book with an exciting and plausible concept. Being a New Englander, I especially like the historic setting of the book and the history of the tunnel system that really exists! I liked the colorful characters and found myself reading faster to find out what would happen next! I also think the book strongly reflects a former cop's wishful thinking, the frustration of a job where you constantly lay your life on the line and the bad guys are let off by our inept judicial system. The book gets graphic in parts and you can't help but cheer for the cops and the way they deal with the slimy drug dealers. I eagerly await Mr Mars' next book!
"Undeniably A Must Read"
If your looking for an author who will pull you in on the first page, then Peter Mars is your man. I picked up this book and could not put it down; read it in two days. The story line keeps you rivited to your seat with a relentless tale of a few police officers that are fed up with the system and take the law into their own hands. Once you've read this book you won't blame them. There is a twist toward the end which blew my mind. Upon finishing this book, I picked up Mr. Mars' "A Taste For Money" and could not put that one down either! I am eager to delve into Mr. Mars' next book, which will be published in October, 2000. If your into Police/Mystery, dont miss these books by any means -- they really are Undeniably A Must Read!! Keep up the good work Mr. Mars!
Movie for the Mind
Ever read a book that was so compelling, so encapturing that you felt you were not only reading the book, but inside of the story...placing yourself right inside the action? That's exactly the experience I had when reading "The Tunnel," by Mr. Pete Mars. To make it even more interesting, the author leaves it up to the reader to decide for themself if it was fact or fiction. Who is to say that it's such a far cry from being fact? That in itself makes the story line even more compelling. My highest recommendations on this book.

I loved this book
This book has it all, for men and women both! For the men, there are fast cars, Lear jets, bombs and guns, and even a shoot-em-up drama near the end. For the women there's love, romance, and family. I think this book has the best of both worlds.
