Please, do some research!
I found this book very frustrating because the author of this book abiously didn't do her homework. I know this is an unauthorized book, but still, she could have found out more info without much trouble. She made several errors, like Dave and Clint being identical twins. I thought the 8 pages of pictures were very cool, and definatly the high point of the book. I would suggest getting The Moffatts: Backstage Pass-which is authorized whith lots of pictures-instead.

Bad Info
I am a huge Moffatt fan, for more than two years now, and I know so much about them. I read this book and found over twenty mistakes in information, and even some typos. I could have wrote a better one! It's entertaining purely because it's about my boys, so if you are really a big fan, it's entertaining to read this lady's interpretataion of their lives.

This book gives you info but there are mistakes.
Hi, I heard and read on message boards and stuff that this new moffatt book gave good information but there appeared to be many mistakes. I still bought thinking it wasn't that bad, I am in chapter 6 now, and i don't regret buying it cause the pictures are great, and its telling me some things i didn't already know. I give it 4 out of five because of the mistakes but, otherwise it is a great book about the greatest band, The Moffatts. thanks, Amanda

If you are looking for pictures, don't go for this.
I bought this book hoping it would have good info in a nice format, and some color pictures. There are 8 black and white pictures and it is written like a novel with chapters and everything. If you want color pictures and an easy-to-read book, don't go for this one.

Very indepth.
This book was very informative. It was like the author followed Love around her whole life. It had many quotes from Love on many different topics. The pictures were great (though they would have been better in color). This book tells just how much she had to go through to get to the level she's at today, the top. I would have given it one more star if it were an official biography.

This is a great book
This is probably the best book Ive read so far. But it olny has 8 black&white photos, but great photos. Its small enough to fit in your jacket pocket. It has all the information I needed to know. And easy to read.

Lots of typos and false facts...
I just got this book and could not believe how many errors were in it! Not just typos, but the author and editor often came up short when it came to correct facts about the guys. The only part I sort of liked were the guys' bios, which were a nice change from the usual name:, birthdate:, favorite food:, format most articles use. They read like novels, but the downside to that is that the author feels the need to use a lot of melodramatic descriptions for filler that probably are not accurate (it IS an unauthorized bio). There's also a lot of repetative info used, and that makes it a bit annoying. Skip on this one and try another NSYNC book.

This book explains the guys' lives really well!
It tells about the guys' individual lives and how they became 'N SYNC. I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's definately well written!

Do NOT buy this book!
This books really (disappoints)! One of the things that bothered me the most, was the overkill of references to other bands when trying to describe Sugar Ray. Korn was mentioned at least 7 times, as well as Rage Against the Machine and RHCP. The author (Anna Louise Golden) kept saying, twice to be exact, that Sugar Ray's sound was not "a million miles from the Red Hot Chili Peppers." And by page 112, Golden had concluded that "They'd stop trying to be another Korn or Limp Bizkit."

Plus, to what seems to me like major space fillers, Golden writes mumbo jumbo like "As 1999, drew to a close, and the new year, century and millenium began...(129)" It would have been just as effective if she just left it with "as the new year began." I'm surprised she didn't go on and on to say "December 31st, the 24th hour of that day, etc." Her writing is weak, both structurally and grammatically, but aside from that, content-wise. For a great portion of the book, the author analyzes each and every song!

That it is LAME!!! It's basicaly a big album review. Golden has no idea how to critique either. She dissects each song, adds some BS comment, then always concludes with "it all combines to work beautifully." Uh, duh!

Throughout the book, there were innaccurate facts and quotes. On page 141, she mentions the band's nomination, but NOT successful win, in the Blockbuster Entertainment Awards in Favorite Group:Modern Rock, 1998. Finally, she just straight up doesn't know one band member from another. On 143, Golden writes "For Craig, one of the greatest moments was opening for KISS, who'd originally inspired him to pick up a guitar and make music." HELLO?!?!? That's RODNEY, not Craig.

Major scarcity on new info. too. The stuff that she mentions we (for all the diehards out there =) have already read over and over again in mags and on the net. Here, she compiles it with the three album reviews. Woopee. Stuff that I didn't know: Mark's dad was a real-estate developer, Gretchen's a counselor, Craig's BMW has a tv in it and he lives in West Covina. So there, now you don't have to read the book!

The only good thing was the pics and the 10 Seconds Down recognition. BUT, the author failed to mention OTHER great websites! The fan sites that she did mention, she managed to pull off of the UBL listing...Wade's Sugar Ray page, Tekuila's, and Peaches. Wade's and Tekuila's haven't been updated since '98 and Peaches was under construction at the time of the writing. Why these three sites??? Sarah And Michele's "Rod Is God" site is MUCH MORE qualified than the ones in the book, both on strong content and web design merit. (...) All these deserving fan sites, with no acknowledgment.

Anyways, it just goes to show how people will (write) for a buck these days.

Opinion of book from a loyal Sugar Ray fan
As a loyal and knowledgable fan of the band, I found that this book was filled with untruths, and it seemed that it was not researched well. Much of the information in the book is false, and there were also many typographical errors. The author seemed to repeat herself many times, and I didn't find that there was anything in the book that I didn't already know. Maybe I just know too much about the band to appreciate such a shallow, poorly researched book. I would recommend it to people who don't have a clue about the band, with the warning not to believe everything that is written in the book. For someone like me though, who has followed the band for more than 6 years, I found the book to be of little value. I feel like I could write a better book about the band than this author did.

Quick read
It probably took the writer less time to write this than it will for you to read it. It's one of those pulp books that get churned out quickly, in case the pop sensation it's about fades before the book hits the shelves. But if you know nothing about this band, this a decent place to start. I went to the same high school (Corona del Mar High School) as Mark McGrath and Stan, so, aside from loving their music, I have a sentimental feeling for the band. (I graduated just before their freshman year, so missed them by a year, so never got to pass them in the school halls). It's funny to read, though, that Rodney played Shaka in "Land of the Lost" for 5 episodes because I knew in high school the guy who replaced him as Shaka: Philip Paley! Which means, too, I'm afraid, that Rodney is older than he lets on! I don't care. I love Sugar Ray!
