New Kids rocks!
I bought this book several years ago when the Kids were famous and popular. This is above all, the best book. The Kids wrote it themselves, and have loads of childhood pics of each other. It also talked about what it was like growing up, and how they got together. I've read the whole book several times, and I never tire of it. New Kids have always been #1 in my heart, and they always will be.

An excellent story, written in the boys own words
In most of thees New Kids books, the facts are not always accurate, but in this one they are dead on. This book was written by the kids, and tell each side of the story (from their point of view) It has some seldomly published pictues of the Kids and their famillies. Well worth the investment.

an illuminating collection of essays
Pungent and profoundly moving, the introductory sequences to these seminal essays establish new levels of critical consciousness in that melancholy discipline known as art history. Frascina and Harris, two of our most exalted and distinguished cultural historians, provide a comprehensive survey of the culture-politics interface in C20th society. Consistently devastating and endlessly locked into the real critical issues, this is essential reading for all students of modern visual culture.

Gorgeous, colorful paintings
This year's calendar provides more brilliant paintings and a main theme of beautiful islander women of African descent. Each month gives moving depictions of people, sky, clouds, and water using lots of vibrant color. You may want to buy two, like I did (one for yourself and one to give).

Excellent choice for anybody involved in a relationship!
I bought this book on a whim, but found it to be a treasure. Once I started reading it, I found the information to be informative and at the same time, practical. Many times when I've read "relationship" books, they give you advice, but nothing that works in the real world. This book gives real case scenarios and ways to address and solve the issues at hand. It provides fast, proactive ways to resolve problems that come up in every relationship, even the good ones.

I am happily married, but this book was able to teach me ways of handling disagreements when they do develop. No relationship is perfect, but this book certainly helps to get you as close as possible.

An Excellent Primer
Fineberg's book is an exhaustive study that makes some obvious connections between children's art, and some not so obvious ones. Either way, the result is a compelling compendium of fascinating information. Not for the casual reader of art history specific topics. However, if you're into 20th century art history/theory, this book is required reading.

excellent book on the psychology of golf
Pithy chapters outlining how to prepare yourself mentally for golf (or life). How not to think and how to think on the course. How to think positively and not defeat yourself on the course. Similar to Penicks views on the game. Good illustrations to accompany clear text. Must read for beginners or pros. Will improve your game and enjoyment of the game.

Wow! I wish this book would have been available 10 yrs ago
I shaved 8 strokes off my game the first time I went out to the course after reading this book. I will read it over and over again. This is by far the most helpful book I have ever read.

Unbelievably easy to read and understand!
This book is as simple as the title, yet after reading, you pull away with numerous ways to improve your game, and more importantly - have more FUN!

excellent!
I purchased this book for my Contemporary Art class. It's chock full of great information, and lots of excellent quality samples of art throughout. Worth getting if you're interested in 'educating' yourself in the vernacular of art -- both modernism and contemporary.

a must for every art student
art since 1940 is a well researched and methodically presented book on contemorary art and art makers. the introduction and opening chapters deal with movements such as surrealism and are a very good lead up into the art after 1940. the author has dealt with various movements and expanded on specific artists from each of these phases in art. one does feel however that the portions on certain artists were sketchier than others, especially with regards to the visual material provided. also the book could have been planned better in terms of the placement of photographs along with the corresponding text. All in all, however, as an art student, I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who ever wondered what all that 'thrown about paint'in jackson pollock's work was all about. The life history of the artists was well researched and wasnt superficial like a lot of books on art and provided a valuable insight into the art work itself.

Great Pictures But Could do more work on the Information
I had hoped to be reading about the Forbidden City-its origins, its designers, its layout, the function of the buildings and structures, the treasures it contained, the catastrophes it survived and so forth.

I was disappointed to find that only the first chapter was of some relevance to the Forbidden City. The rest of the chapters were devoted to the famous "inhabitants", the officers ranking system, concubines, eunuchs, the foreign priests and so forth.

The books saving grace is the breath-taking photography. But then some of the pictures I felt were rather irrelevant to the Forbidden City ie Yong Zheng's concubines, Kang Xi's various potraits.

In conclusion, this is a good book for browsing through the pictures, but not for the serious historian.

A Coffee-table Book ¿ but no more
If you want a coffee table book, then buy it. The photographs by Hu Chui are stunning, and the reproductions of Chinese scrolls and paintings are excellent.

However, the information about the Forbidden City is at the breakfast mush level - easy to digest but of little value. The information is superficial, and often inaccurate. Knowledgeable students of the Forbidden City will groan, and wince. It perpetuates blunders such as referring to the East Glory Gate as the East 'Flowery Gate,' and the Chinese advisor on eunuchs knows little about the subject. The book talks about emperors as if they all had the same personality and all did the same things.

Enjoy the pictures, but take the text with milk and sugar.

Great Pictures!
If you are a fan of Chinese history or art, this is the book for you. I enjoyed this book because of the magnificent pictures, and ancient Chinese paintings depicted in it. Not only are the pictures interesting, but so is the text. It tells of......I guess you'll have to see for yourself! Great buy, all though I was afraid at first that I payed too much, after I recieved it those fears were put to rest.
