One Of The Best I Have Ever Read
Melissa runs away from home to escape being sent to France. Her father hires Zack to find her and bring her back. Zack takes one look at her and knows he has to have her at least once. She makes a bargin with him she will sleep with him if he lets her go. After one night of passion she escapes and he again has to track her. He continues to catch her and she continues to escape. I loved the adventures they go on and the road they have to travel before they realize how much they really love each other. I couldn't put the book down. It was such a good story with historical information weaved through the story. One minute I was laughing the next crying. It was great. I love the way Carol Finch writes I can't wait to read her next book.

Three Wolves, what a hunk!
I defintely enjoyed this book. Three Wolves was an unusual hero, with his power to call in the wolves and the way he physically changed. He was also a tender lover, despite his rough-edged ways. If I wasn't engaged, I'd like to find a man like him. Please, Carol, write a sequel!

Awesome
I really loved this book and really enjoyed the characters. If only there were men like that in this day and age.Loving and passionate and tender.Very well written.

THE BEST BOOK YET. UNBELIEVABLE. A KEEPER
My God... this is the type of book you can't, won't put down. What characaters. What a story line. So wonderfully written, so real. What a man, Three Wolves, Comanche gunslinger, and much more.. mysterious, calls upon the spirit becomes one with the wolves. A story that has me thinking all the time. Could there ever be such a man as Three Wolves?? Maybe not in this lifetime, but then again, you never know. READ THIS BOOK... IT'S A KEEPER. NEVER LET IS OUT OF YOUR SIGHT...

Three Lovely Vampire Stories
RED MOON RISING was a delight by Carol Finch. The dialog was witty and even humourous at times. Seth was the vampire whose greatest wish was to find at least one gray hair on his head. Matti aka "Mishap Matti" because of her propensity for accidents was darling. Both had secrets from one another but the love story was so sweet. Very good!

HIGHLAND BLOOD was also very good. Gordon Fraser was due for his 100 year 'appointment' and was expecting an expert to come and restore/repair water damage to his Gutenburg bible. He was expecting a man - E. Bruce MacDougal - the E. unfortunately for him, stood for Emily and not only was she a woman but she brought along a female companion as well. This story was VERY VERY Good and I was most interested in the solution they came up with that broke the vampire curse!

A DANCE IN THE DARK - Karen Ranney's contribution was most excellent! Not your typical gorgeous heroine come to save the vampire's soul - but an heiress whose face was not attractive but her heart and soul were shown to her to be her most beautiful assets. The intelligent dialog is what will entrance you and - I would love to find the continuation of this story! Where oh where is it Ms. Ranney?

Vampires search for everlashing love . . . . .
After Midnight is an anthology by three popular authors. The picture on the book is positively SCOURCHING!!!! A dark & deadly vampire is hoovering over a woman who is only to eager to succumb to that unearthly passion. YIKES!!

Now onto the three stories.

Karen Ranney's A Dance In The Dark is very good. A lonely, charming vampire falls in love with a Regency lady who believes herself to be ugly. This story is filled with tenderness, sadness and redemption. Enjoyable read!

Colleen Faulkner's Highland Blood is also very good. An 1898 vampire must learn to control his dark cravings when an American beauty pays a visit to his Scottish castle. This story has an element of mirth to it. The heroine plainly doesn't believe that the man she is hired to work for is a vampire. That is until certain things begin to happen . . . Very, very good!

Carol Finch's Red Moon Rising is about two people who are concealing a dark secret from each other. This story will keep you on your toes!

Grab yourself a copy and simply enjoy the dark side of love!

Must Read for Vampire Lovers or Anyone Romantic
You must buy this book if only for the Last Story A DANCE IN THE DARK. This is the one where the heroine... is not pretty (ugly is the word she uses and others in the book). Excellent dialoge, very thought provoking. You don't even know what this Vampire looks like until the end, but you still fall in love with him. Go figure, who can write a story like that! I've read many romance anthologies, but this is definitely a keeper. The last story is so deep, not your normal romance short story. It is gentle and kind. He is also not your run of the mill "suck your blood vampire" no spoilers...gotta read it. It is a terrific variation on a Vampire stereotype. Grab it while you can.

stirring western romance
In the 1870s New Orleans, wealthy Walter Malloy parades potential husbands past his daughter, but Hanna rejects each of them until he informs her she will wed Louis Beauchcamp, merging the two biggest shipping firms in the area. Walter hires a chaperone to guard his daughter so Hanna concludes she will never be free of her domineering father or his hand pick lackey of a spouse unless she marries someone else. She decides her choice must be a wanderer who would never be home to order her to do things. Hanna escapes and flees to Fort Smith, Arkansas.

She selects half-breed Cale Elliot as her mate based on his reputation as a deputy working for Judge Parker and his work as a bounty hunter will keep him away from her. Cale accepts her plan because he believes that a wife could be the key to gaining entrance to the notorious gang who killed his brother. As her father and her "fiancé" come to collect her, the newlyweds fall in love, but both remain in deadly danger if the outlaws learn who he is.

Though some readers might scratch their heads on the relative ease of Hanna's transformation from a life of opulence to that of a frontier woman, Americana fans will relish the adaptation to her new life because she is a brave admirable individual. Cale has his own demons to contend with, but knows he would die for his bride. The lead characters are deep and their adventures are typical of a Carol Finch reading riot as the BOUNTY HUNTER'S BRIDE is a stirring western romance that entertains the troops.

Great Duets book!
I usually only like half of the Duets books that come out every month but Carol Finch delivers two great, sexy stories! Both are funny, romantic and the characters have wonderful chemistry. I can't believe I actually liked both stories equally. I can't wait til the next Hoot's Roost stories to come out.

Sensuous!
From back of book:
Sweet temptation..

Serena didn't know how long the dark- haired stranger had been watching her bathe in the cool waters of the secluded cove, but from the searing look on his handsome face, he'd seen far too much of her pale, silken flesh! His gaze warmed her skin with the heat of a thousand suns and she gasped in suprise and delight as he reached out to touch what his silvery eyes had so boldly caressed. She has heard of love's fierce power- suddenly she became a slave to its seductive magic.

Shameless Desire...

Trager hungered for the honey haired beauty the instant he saw her. The clear waters could not hide her slender form and her long, blonde tresses provided littel cover for her creamy shoulders and voluptuous charms. And when she looked at him with her emerald eyes wide with fear, her full, red lips parted in surprise, he knew he had to have her. he needed to see those green eyes widen with desire, feel those ruby lips part beneath his own, envelop her sweet innocent body in the sensuous splendor of Ecstasy's Embrace.

It's actually a 4 1/2 stars rating...
This is my first book of Carol Finch & now I am looking forward to read more of her books. I actually haven't heard of her before so I don't know what her books genre... I am a Historical Romance novel reader & coincidentally (& LUCKILY), I saw this book lying around in the library's table. The front picture wasn't really to my liking but since I was waiting for someone, I thought I'd pick it up, simply browse through it to pass the time. Well, whadya know?! I got hooked. I was only in the second chapter yet I couldn't put it down. When the person I was waiting for finally showed up, I had to barrow the book to take home for myself. I finished it that same day too, though it was late at night already! Now, I am looking around bookstores to buy one copy to add in my collection but so far, no luck. This book is out of print! :-(

When Garielle Jarmon's father died, She became the ward of his cruel & treacherous uncle. She is a rich heiress yet her estate & her wealth is on hold until she finds a husband. Her uncle hated her. He believes that Gabrielle is too spoiled & needed a man to put her in the proper place. He was determined to make Gabrielle's life miserable by finding her the cruelest husband there is. Therefore, he signed a marriage contract for Gabrielle to marry Horace Farleigh, who was known for his lechery & wanted a virgin wife. There is no other choice but to ran away & perhaps break her maidenhead so that Horace Farleigh will find her unsuitable. Never knowing her destiny will become even more complicated.

Capt. Dane Hampton was almost dead when Gabrielle found him. She carried him to her uncle's home risking the consequences of being caught riding outside despite her uncle's strict instructions of not leaving the estate. Dane first saw Gabrielle, riding atop a white horse when he was half conscious. He thought the imagine of an angel was simply a dream. But then the angel became somewhat a reality when she kept appearing to him at nights, touching him gently, talking to him in a soothing voice... giving him peace and contentment... YET confusing him at the same time.

Dressed and talked as a boy, Gabrielle became Dane's Valet and more. They became friends. The "young boy" who Dane calls, Gabe, became his confidant, his friend and even his savior from being murdered. Gabe saved his life three more times & boy, does he/she remind him every single time. Gabe's relationship with Dane was touchy & funny. He finds the boy feisty, hot tempered yet intriguingly good hearted. There is something he couldn't put his fingers on, not knowing that the boy with smudge face is actually a beautiful lady. The real Lady Gabrielle who visits Dane's room at night as a faceless angel is certainly exciting & heart warming. I kept hoping she'd tell him the truth but she was afraid to be sent home, knowing Dane's gratefulness for his uncle's hospitality when he was at near death.

Aside from the special friendship of the boy, Gabe & Dane ... and the growing intimacy of Gabrielle & Dane, the suspense of who wanted to kill Dane was also another add-on spice to the book. My favorite part of this book is when Dane finally found out Gabe's secret by accident. Aww! I also laughed at the scenes when Dane visits his paramour for pleasure while Gabe waits outside, furious. The detailed friendship & romance mixed with suspense made this book very entertaining. I enjoyed each page till the end. I wanted to give 4 1/2 stars rating on this book but there is only 1 to 5 stars, no halfs.... The reason why I didn't rate this book a 5 stars was only 'cuz of a teeny tiny self preference, I was hoping Gabrielle would concieved a child at the end of the book. That would have been a perfect ending to this unique story. ---> or perhaps she could become pregnant while she was still the boy, Gabe? Afterall, Gabe becomes Gabrielle most of the nights & make love to Dane. A pregnant boy? Now, that would have been really funny, wouldn't it?

Predictable plot, good characters
Judd Lassetier is your typical anti-hero, attractive to the heroine because of his faults, not despite them. One thing that I am really sick of in these Indian romance novels is the frequent and unecessary use of the term "Half-breed". Now I know that someone out there is going to try to tell me that it is historically acurate to use that term, and I agree, in the context of the novel it may sometimes be required. However, why do the authors and publishers use this all over the dust jackets? It's a very offensive term that these authors who claim to respect the native peoples of this land should use carefully. That said, I like the hero and heroine's characters a lot, but in the last third of the novel the author seems to be struggling to keep these two from getting to know each other as individuals as well as keeping them apart romantically. I reccomend this book if you like Indian romance and want a change from the kidnapped white-woman thing.

Desperate woman hires man who works for her enemy.
Judd Lassiter is the man they call Panther. He's a half-breed, a wanderer, a bounty hunter who can face any danger without blinking. Kat Diamond needs Lassiter. He's the only man who can save her from her stepfather's hired killers. So Kat offers Judd a fortune to get her safely to her destination, little knowing that Lassiter has already made a deal--with her enemy. Historical romance lovers will be thrilled by Kat and Judd's story and will eagerly await the next installment of Finch's Mystics of the Four Winds.
