An extraordinary family - with a powerful faith
A book every parent should read. A story of an extraordinary family and how they coped with losing a young member of the family. Exploring the raw emotions each member of the family felt and how each individually and collectively as a family used their faith and family bonds to survive.
Surviving Ryan
Pam Ferguson has a tremendous amount of courage and compassion to write the story of Ryan and their families ability to cope with his death. Their family morales and values are so strong that they will always be survivors in any circumstance. As we travel the journey of life we will lose our loved ones along the way, this is part of the cycle. I lost a love one close to me and I didn't talk about for a long time. Thank you Pam for helping me open my eyes and my heart. Your story has given me the insite to help deal with this loss.
Surviving Ryan
A book of this type is long overdue. Pam Ferguson really puts herself out there. My hat's off to her for the strength and courage it took to complete this book with so much passion and integrity. After reading Surviving Ryan, I have a much better understanding of the feelings I've been going through since losing someone very close to me. It's nice to know these feelings of loss resulting from tragedy really are normal under the circumstances. Thank you, Pam for writing this book!

its really good
this book is really good, the author, arlene ferguson came to talk to us about it and she showed us a real junkanoo hat and everything. the pictures are really interesting and the history is brilliant (a word she used)!!
Real Junkanoo Revealed
This book is a "true-true" part of Bahamian history. Very few books have been written about the history of this cultural festival and this one is phenomenal. Nash-Ferguson gives a first person account of the entire process and history of the festival and the reader truly feels a part of the experience. The graphics and layout of this book are also wonderful - from the scene displayed through a piece of ripped cardboard on the cover to the shots of the costumes throughout it is easy to see why Junkanoo is considered true Bahamian culture by many.

Do It Yourself Vegtable Garden
In the true tradition of do it yourself books created by Ortho this has to be its best. The book is geared for both beginners in gardening and the handy do it yourselfer types. Chapters progress you through the steps from site selection and plant selection to harvesting, crop rotating and soil conditioning over winter and indoor greenhouse seed starting. Its an A-Z book and should be the the only reference book (excluding seed catalogs) you really need. The book also contains references to various cultivars within vegtable species and handy suggested cooking guides, so a beginner gardener could not only successfully select and grow well know vegtables, but could also grow and use the odd often hard to find fresh herbs.
Great for cooks too
Beautifully illistrated the book starts with a complete garden guide that includes specifics on everything from choosing a garden site to the correct amount of light and water. Also covered in this section is data concerning soil, seasons, weeds, pests and problems. It then continues with a very comprehensive catalog of vegetables and herbs, each one containing precise straightforward details on planting, harvesting and cooking along with recipes and nutritional facts. Even if you're not interested in growing a garden, every cook should have this book. I use it as a resource when I am trying to choose the correct type of vegetable according to my recipe and taste buds or when looking up unfamiliar herbs that certain recipes may call for. A wealth of information, I use it to quickly and easly find answers to all my questions.
