The only source of complete info about WKS
This book is really really great. Not that it is very interesting to read, mind. It's great in the sense that it provides you with just about any piece of info that you need to access about this complex disease.

The Miracle Worker
Published in Mass Market Paperback by Bantam Books (1984)
Author: William Gibson
Amazon base price: $3.25
Average review score:

There are too much information in each chapter.
Each chapter contained too much information for students. Also, it should have more examples for each exercises. If there is a answer key in the back of each chapter, it will be more helpful for students.

comprehensive and user friendly
Having used several books to teach Managerial Accounting, I find this to be one of the better textbooks in the market. It is comprehensive and yet written in a way that is easy for the student to understand. The authors seem to know exactly what key points to emphasize. Ideal for a self study course.

Going Virtual: Moving Your Organization Into the 21st Century

I threw it aside in disgust
A poxy book - between the front and back covers is a lot of air in which the word "virtual" is said 3 times in every sentence. Take the word out and you have one of those ghastly management texts written from a belief system without any real practical backup. The tenets are unbelievably ignorant in some cases. Anyone who can say that executives who express preference for face-to-face communication are being defensive doesn't know a thing about socialisation or tacit knowledge processes. They must think the world can be ordered around aka the military model. oh whoops, one of the authors spent 35 years as a career officer in the USAF. So if you are into military-type operations where commands can be relayed over sophisticated networks, this book is for you. If you are interested in the boundaryless organisation and the meaning for social behaviour, steer clear.

Fantastically written book. Chapters 18-22: the best
Chapters 18-22 are worth more than the price of the book. The farther I read the more impressed I was. In the beginning I was wondering about its value but it has proved invaluable to me. It's a reference tool that I find myself going to repeatedly. I highly recommend it, even though it was written in 1995, I don't know its equal. Posted 10-2002.

:-)
A very realistic book about the organizational transformation in the '90s An Excellent set of atoms for having in your own home.

Falling Behind !
I'm the reviewer from Kansas City, MO. I've used this book for 2 years, but am now switching to the Laudon textbook. The McLeod text is just not keeping up with the times, he needs a strong rewrite.

Tough Subject
This book does an average job of presenting what is somewhat 'deadly boring' material. Considering what they have to work with, maybe this is the best we could expect.

Excellent undergraduate textbook for MIS Management
I reviewed many textbooks for my Managing MIS course, and this was one of the finalists. I chose it because of it's easy to read style, systemic approach, and good use of case studies. It allows students to not only understand how MIS management should work, but to get a hands-on feel for what really happens in life.

Kaplan PSAT 2003

The Movie is Awful and Phony!!!!!!
It may not be right to critize the book, however, since the author allowed his work to be used in making the IMAX movie that is shown hourly ajacent to the Alamo he must bear the responsibility for the appaling movie that reflects his work.

Disjointed and inaccurate are the kindest words to use. The movie script has actions taking place out of sequence and worst of all it contains so many omissions as to make it almost a parody of the heroic stand of the Texicans against Santa Anna. The glaring omissions and literary license taken with known facts make this work easily the worst treatsie on the Alamo ever.

Mr. McAlister should have stood on his head to make sure it was at least historically accurate as far as known facts and it would not have cost a dime to have a voice over narration to fill in the many omissions in the Alamo story. There are too many for me to list here but it should suffice to say "shame" on you for allowing such a travesty to parade ! under the guise of purporting to tell the story of the Alamo. Even John Wayne's script was better!!!!! (Wayne's was the worst script ever used for a movie.)
