Very well done book on female sexuality
I enjoyed reading this book, particularly because it validated me as a Christian woman and validated my sexuality in a healthy, spiritual way.

The book was informative from a "sex ed" point of view, as well as from a Biblical point of view. I especially appreciated the discussion on birth control and the emphasis on the fact that children and fertility are gifts from God.

Was a great help!
This book has helped me to understand many things about myself that had ended up being a sourse of friction between my spouse and I. Ms. Evans gives lots of helpful information about many of todays commen misconceptions about how a woman should "be" sexually. She also includes some wonderful information about the menstration cycle and how it affects women on a daily basis. The questions at the end of each chapter make you really think and are most helpful.

A comprehensive insight into the nature of women.
This book brings into focus a woman's unique nature, dispels male centered misconceptions about our sexuality, and carefully explains God's design and purpose for women. It is easy to read and engaging for a book of this nature. The questions at the end of each chapter are thought provoking and meaningful

Have the relationship you want w/your daughter & your mom!
What an incredible book - I count it among my favorite. It has touched my life in so many ways. I bought it to find the relationship I desired between me and my daughter but it also has deepened my relationships with my mother and two sisters, my adult women friends, etc. I now understand so many of the emotions I felt and that they are normal and how to focus them. I have been given new insights into how my own mother feels and I now understand so much of my relationship with her. The best reward is a deep relationship with my 14-year-old, something any mother of a teenage daughter would wish for. Every woman deserves this book and the benefits it brings!

Kindred Hearts encourages mother-daughter bonding.

Trusting in God's protection in childbirth
The Christian Woman's Guide to Childbirth is a great resource for scriptures regarding pregnancy, birth and beyond. Mrs. Evans provides the reader with plenty of proof that God is indeed in control of the birthing process. Her descriptions of the labor process are super. She gives many insights into the physical and emotional feelings of labor and how to deal with them in a biblical manner. Her commentary on the Fall of man and pain in childbirth is wonderful. I gained much from her wisdom regarding women allowing the toils of labor to bring them closer to God and to change our views of labor from punishment to opportunity for spiritual growth. Her chapter on nutrition left much to be desired, however; as did her comments on possible complications of labor and birth. Her answer to almost any variation of normal seems to be surgical birth rather than working hard at solving the problem. Her list of women at risk for complications and c-section is too inclusive as almost every woman could manage to fit into it. Over all the book is a wealth of scripture and hope. I would use it in my classes to share Christ centered birth with my students.

Best Pregnancy Book So Far!
My husband and I are expecting our 3rd baby in November, and have read just about every pregnancy book on the market. This is our favorite for several reasons. First, it emphasises the spiritual aspect of birth. For a woman to partner with God for that one little creation momemt is so spectacular, yet we tend to think of it as more of a medical condition. Having myself refocused on that created such a fantasitc birth for my son. My husband liked this book the best because it gave such specific ways for the husband to help, rather than just saying "be supportive". He liked the way the book said "If this doesn't work, try this, etc. If nothing works, sit down next to her and pray for her." It made him feel much less helpless when I was uncomfortable. This was hands down the most practical, easy to use book I have read on Labor. It will go to the hospital with me in November for the 3rd time!

In the final analysis...the Comeback Kid prevails
"Back from the Dead: How Clinton Survived the Republican Revolution," is a crisp behind-the-scenes examination of how William Jefferson Clinton ultimately defeated a determined Republican Party. To this end, Clinton's extraordinary political skills and a smart move away from the left and to the soft center of American politics paved the way for victory.

Evan Thomas also cites three other critical factors..."it is the economy...stupid," the unpopular personality of Newt Gingrich and the polling genius of Dick Morris as helping Bill Clinton defeat Bob Dole. But the main theme of this book is that the former governor of Arkansas had an enormous appetite for work and an uncanny ability to communicate with the American people. Certain parts of the narrative is a passionate upclose account of Bill and Hillary Clinton as husband and wife as well as political partners. Other parts of this book looks at how the prospects for a second term were shadowed by the scandals of Clinton's first four years in office.

In the final analysis the "Comeback Kid," great man or not...did have a remarkable gift for politics and this won the day. Baby boomers had come of age, moved to the suburbs, borne children, and planted the seeds of a postmodern political agenda. They wanted a president that would help them cope with the cares of everyday life...work and family, schools and doctors, safe streets and clean water. The Republican Party offered a solid political platform but Bill Clinton's colorful promise of a "Golden Age" outlasted Bob Dole's plain "Black & White" strategy for America.

A nice review of Clinton's victory
Making the 1996 presidential election interesting and excitingis a difficult task. But Evan Thomas comes very close in this gem ofa book. It focuses not only on the Republican primaries and thegeneral election but also on the Congressional battles in 1995-96 that made Clinton's victory possible. Candidate media strategies are also explored. Thomas also provides insight and analysis throughout the book rather than just at the end like other authors have the habit of doing. These insights, especially concerning the birth of a "Small Deal" in government policy, are fair and accurate. For political readers interested in the 1996 presidential election come here.
