This title in question, i.e., Strong Souls Singing : African American Books for Our Daughters and Our Sisters by Archie Givens (Editor), Marian Wright Edelman (Introduction), is an awesome guide to books for African American women and girls. In here one will find short synopses of important books that African American girls should read. The descriptors are well written and to the point. Highly Recommended.

Waging Peace in Our Schools is one of the finest books I have to refer people to. Whether they be students, teachers, directors/administrators, or parents. This exquisite volume by Linda Lantieri and Janet Patti includes experiential work behind creating a peacable climate at school, and cogent observations within the context of our society and the process of education. Outstanding as a reference for those working in Equity relations, peer relations, parenting adolescents, non-violence work, et al. I first encountered this volume as an Early Childhood Educator working with Preschool teachers, and found it to be a well met friend in that arena as well. If you are concerned about the plight of violence in our schools, and would like to know what you can do to help; this is also an exquisite primer.

BLACK PEARLS is one year's worth of daily meditations. The collection touches almost all motivational subjects. Reading it is a positive way to start the day. It's very inspirational. Written for African Americans, but good for anybody.

This black pearl appreciates Eric's ability to caputure the true essence of black love. The selection of poems was superb. I laughed, I cried but most of all I reflected, on what love meant to me. With Valentine's Day around the corner, this book was right on time. Thank you Eric...

This is a great book to read at the start of everyday. It can be read by anyone of any heritage or ethnic background, it applies to anyone and everyone. Its one of those books that "makes you go hmmmm."
