Make it so

Physicist C.W. Rietdijk is a brilliant, open minded, ruthlessly logical man. But the maddening crowd is'nt. He has many good ideas towards a healthier society, but I wonder how to implement them. The special interest groups that I think he rightly says are a big source of societal ills, are so deeply entrenched. Also people show no signs of a willingness to dispense of them.

But the book is dense with ideas on a truly wide range of subject matter. Including some truly strange information on time independent information transfer. If your curious you should be. Buy it, read it. And visit his web site.

new angle to look at organizations

I'm a student at the free University of Amsterdam and we've got to use this book for the diagnoses of (organization) cultures. The authors of this book are also connected with the University of Amsterdam, both as researchers and as teachers. I note that this review is not a way of kissing some behinds. The content of this book has opened my eyes. Culture is in a constant interaction with its environment. It is dynamic and should be studied as such. It's difficult to summarize "Contradictions in context". My advice to everyone who studies cultures is to read this book and learn to understand the phenomenon of (organization) culture.
