Macunaima, the hero, creates many traditions of Brazil during his adventures. Mario de Andrade style of writing is funny by itself, and the whole story is very ingenuous, funny and interesting. The author plays with the popular way of distorting the truth taking facts that are told later as legends and fantastic myths. This was the best book I ever read of Brazilian literature!
