This was a very enjoyable and fast-paced book. The ending was a little elusive, hanging with the question of what Copper would do in a certain situation, but overall it was terrific. Highly recommended to preteen girls who can relate to Copper's situation of being alone and unwanted by family, yet finding strength from them as well.

The story is focused on the life of Elsie Edwards, who goes to a new school and is not welcome there. Elsie is an overweight girl, who is on a diet, but still asks people for food. One day, she starts stealing money, and when the teacher and the principal find out, the classroom door has to be locked. Jennifer, and Diane, are two girls in her class who don't like her. A little later in the book, Jennifer and Diane...Find out when you read the book!
I would recommend this book to forth and fifth graders, because it tells people about being friends, and relates to real life. The reason I really likes this book is because I liked the technique that the author used (of really explaining the characters feelings), and also, I could relate it to one of my friends' life. I read this book in the end of fourth grade, and I knew I was ready to help new people fit in in fifth grade. For all the people who don't like to read, THIS IS FOR YOU!

The book is basically about a teen-aged girl, Didi, who goes through many problems that many teens face. For instance her mother has cancer, Didi and her father don't have a relationship, basically they both live in the same house, but they barely speak. I can totally relate to this book. The whole book takes place in the city, middle class.
All through out the book, Didi has a best friend that helps her through all her problems, relationship with her father, mother going through treatments, her and her boyfriend John's problems...EVERYTHING! As Didi mother is going through treatments, Didi and her father begin to get closer. Not exactly where they want to be in their relationship, but better than it ever was. Unfortunately her mother ends up passing away, which makes Katie hit rock bottom!
Once again her best friend is there for her, but she ends up loosing her boyfriend because she's too depressed and he never really cared about her anyway. Although the death is very painful for her and her father, it brings them closer.
At the end of the book Didi meets a guy...THE PERFECT GUY! Ken makes her feel loved, special, all the ways he should make her feel. Her and her father are perfectly fine, their relationship couldn't get any better, and her and her best friend remained close and end up becoming closer through out the years.
I highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind.
A good book with a look into teenage life and the dealings of abuse.

Marybelle wants Crystal and Susan for friends. Marybelle steals other friends from Grizzy... Grizzy likes Spider and Amy since Marybelle stole her other friends. Amy is a new friend for Grizzy.
Marybelle tells a lot lies to people. Most people believed her and her wish came true that everyone believed her and she had many friends...
Marybelle can be a nice girl but she needs to stop lying and she is guilty of not telling the truth just to make friends. She can be nice, if she stop lying to people for stupid reasons.
You should read Liar, Liar because it is so good... And I think it is for older people like teenagers and pre teenagers... It is an awsome book... It is based on a true experiences of what happens when a person lies...
