Cute angels, simple patterns. You can do it!

I enjoyed this book just for the pictures and explainations of paper piecing. It gave excellent examples and I look forward to using these patterns in the near future.

This is a beautiful book featuring page after page of full color photos of quilt block designs.
The blocks are pieced using foundation piecing methods. The first chapter guides you through the process of doing foundation piecing with illustrated step-by-step instructions. Helpful hints are provided by piecers from all over. The fabrics used look modern-not Victorian.
A must-have book for quilters!

I purchased this book with the accompanying workbook. Although it may contain good information, the answers are not provided to the exercises--in either the book or workbook. Apparently, a separate instructor's manual needs to be purchased. When spending [the money] for both books, I didn't even think that answers would not be provided, much less that I'd have to spend [more money] to get them. I'd recommend the book, workbook, and instructor's manual, unless you're taking a class that allows you to check to make sure you understand the concepts.

extensive illustrations and diagrams. the book explains exactly what is needed to understand the billing procedure.

I like all of Jodie Davis' doll and animal books, but I especially had fun with this one. I enjoyed picking out all my friends' favorite animals and dressing them up. This book features two kinds of stuffed animals: doll-style (upright with an animal head) and animal-style (more realisticly posed). Both are very cute, and the doll-style patterns include clothing. There is a good variety of projects ranging from cats and pigs to lions and roosters. I would rate the patterns at a medium skill level, since some of the pieces are a little tricky to fit together, and they call for plastic doll joints in the arms, legs, and head. I wish the book had color pictures - the black-and-white ones do not show much detail. Overall, though, this book offers nicely designed patterns with clear instructions. If you are lucky enough to find a copy of it, you should definately add it to your collection!

You will be repeled by some of the subjects in this book and bored by others. This is a collection of essays by different authors, each proceded by a summary. Sometimes the summary would have been enough and the actual essay could have been skipped. I kept "wanting more" for each jerk covered.
