Binnie Shusman Kafrissen and Fran Shusman successfully collaborate in Winning Roles For Career-Minded Women: Understanding The Roles We Learned As Girls And How To Change Them For Success At Work to reveal the underlying psychological issues that lay the foundation for women's success or failure in the workplace. If you are a woman in the work force, if you hire women, or if you are a woman who is thinking of entering the work force then this is the book for you. I am a doctor, a mother, and a wife. I was able to read this book over the weekend which is important with my busy schedule. This book was easy to understand as a lay person. The book really got me thinking about how I may come across to my staff and to my patients, what parts of my personality work and what parts I may need to change. I have enjoyed the exercises because I have become so much more aware of my thoughts and what I tell myself during the day about different things. I have become more aware of what I perceive and believe and what may actually be true. I have become more aware of other people's roles and personalities which has helped me understand where they might be coming from. I believe I will refer to this book often. I also know I will refer this book to others.

Its construction is not as durable as one would like for a reference to carry with you while hiking, but what can one expect for that small an asking price? However, the descriptions and maps for each hike are easy to understand--even for the novice hiker. 25 easy hikes are included in the book, with distance, degree of difficulty, time required, and elevation change included. There are no pictures in the book, but still its very well done.

Despite the title, this isn't so very far along in the series and in fact features the introduction of the very politically correct "Ms. Liz Probert." The cases are the usual set, and Rumpole faces his usual trials and tribulations, most notably from a new member of chambers who wants to make everything much more efficient. The eponymous tale is one we've seen dramatized, where Rumpole has great success betting on a "four-horse accumulator," tells a judge exactly what he thinks of him, and is (of course) frustrated when his go-between leaves the country with his winnings.

Entertaining, as always.

Rumpole has an assortment of foes in this collection of 7 stories: Judge Bullingham, his Head of Chambers Sam Ballard, dishonest prosecution witnesses, police officers, prosecuting barristers, and even the barrister defending his client's co-defendant in a case of armed robbery where a bank guard was wounded. No wonder he thinks of winning a fortune betting on horse races and moving to Spain in the last story, "Rumpole's Last Case". You should enjoy reading this book to find out how many cases Rumpole wins and if he really retires.

_Enchantment of the Faerie Realm_ is not a bad book, really. It has its amazing moments and its less-than-amazing moments. I especially like the idea of faerie tales as meditation exercises; the legends and fantasies dreamed up over the centuries might well be our best key to the nature of the fae. The meditations are also good; I especially liked "Meeting the Flower Faeries" and "Tree Faeries." I only wish the list of flowers and trees had been longer, but the meditations can be used with any plant, so that's no big deal.

Unfortunately, much of the book is devoted to a hyper-organized approach to the fae. There is too much ceremonial magic and not enough whimsy or wild magic. Note that the high points I mentioned above are also the moments in which the book is given over mainly to wild magic. In my work with the fae, I've never gotten the idea that they're a strict bureaucracy. They aren't that organized, and trying to organize them just misses the point. The fae *aren't* like us. They're wilder and more unpredictable, and I bet there are a lot of fae giggling a bit at parts of this book.

I also don't like the emphasis on using the fae to work on your psychological issues. If you're going to get to know the fae, it's best to get to know them just for the joy of getting to know them. And, yes, that *will* make your life happier and more interesting, but that is just icing on the cake. Don't use the fae; befriend them.

This is one of my favorite Ted Andrews' books. It is easy to read, fun and very well organized. It lays a foundation so that people can begin to reconnect to Nature and the Faerie World. The exercises are amazingly effective and he inspires the reader to explore the spirits of Nature. I have read his books and attended his workshops, including workshops on this particular book and his depth of knowledge and experience is amazing. And yet he makes the material accessible to everyone, regardless of their experiences. He helps the reader to remember what we all once knew. He inspires us to seek out new doorways to this magical realm.

I have read several books on the subject - this is by far the best...enjoyable, readable, well researched, practical information. Specific exercises develop the 'sixth sense' that allows us to connect with this beautiful realm. This book is your key to making 'fairy tales' reality - even for skeptics!
