The photos alone are worth the price of this oversized paperback. Mr. Anderson has assembled a detailed and engaging history of the "pioneer" period (1850-1930) at the South and North rims of the Grand Canyon (and the cliffs, slopes and water in between). The familiar names of trails and canyons are fleshed into the first hardy folks who endeavored to eek a livelihood out of northern Arizona's unforgiving desert canyon. We meet explorers, entrepreneurs and industrialists. Prospectors stake their claims, both legitimate and fraudulent. Mormons seek refuge from the laws of their own home state. Individuals fight their losing tugs-of-war against the Railroad/Concession/Park Service aliance. While treatment of prehistoric and early Spanish events is adequate to set the stage for discussing the later periods, it is not intended to be comprehensive [see On the Edge of Splendor]. This comfortably readable volume has finally clarified for me the preferential treatment of Fred Harvey Enterprises, the unmistakable ambivalence of the National Park Service toward its patrons (visitors), and the puzzling destruction of historic sites and abandonment of remote access roads by the NPS. This is great reading for any Canyon junkie.

our linear algebra class prof. told us that this is the most readable math book, that's why the math dept. switched to this book this year. =)

how the hell do i know if the information this book is what i want? what if this book only gives me the information i already know? meaning, it will only give half of the information, but not enough to finish the job.

This book is much better than Chilton's. Mustang II's are Mustangs too!!!

Just what the title says. I can't believe amazon allowed the first guy's review. He needs to learn how to do research or graduate from high school :)
Another great source for repair info is the yahoo! group- mustangiima. Use a search engine to find it then join up! Many knowledgeable people are on that list. Good luck with your II.

The book is anything but teaching how to use matlab. Instead, the book is simply a collection of signals and systems problem set. And answers to questions are NOT given in the book. Nor is there any solved examples. Good job!

Each Section has a MatLab command it starts with. Explains the command, then puts it to use. A very good Sig and Sys MatLab book.

This is an overhaul manual? I could have sworn it read like the Sunday comics with its pictures and captions. There is hardly enough beef in this book to help anyone rebuild an engine. Maybe if you had a NASCAR crew chief with 30 years of experience on your side you'd be able to rebuild an engine with this guide, but otherwise it's useless. At least I borrowed the book from a library and didn't waste my money. There's not enough detail, not enough clarity, and the instructions are vague. It spends like the first 5 chapters discussing how to use a micrometer and know how to build your own workbench. If I wanted to build a garage - I'll get my dad to help or a Bob Vila book, thank you very much.

I suppose this book is fine for those people who aren't going to attempt to do more than change the oil or maybe replace the brake shoes. I've found that anything more than that is either skipped over or mentioned only in passing. For example, the section on installing the intake manifold consists only of a picture of the manifold. The fault diagnosis sections aren't terribly helpful either. A few possibilities per symptom are listed, but they are very vague, for example, "mechanical damage." Occasionally you will find a helpful bit of information, but for the most part this book is a waste of money.
