Not a bad story, not a great one either! My six year old son liked it, the illustrations are very bright and colourful.

What! Cried the Granny is a charming tale about a boy and his first sleepover at his granny's house. Granny tells him to go to bed and he tells her that he doesn't have a bed over at her house. So she makes him one. Then he doesn't have a pillow, a blanket, a teddy bear, etc. The resourceful and loving granny takes the time to make each of these things for her grandson so that he can have a pleasant night's sleep.

We were first introduced to this book at story time at the library and just loved it so I had to buy it for my 3-year old nephew, who adores it, as do his older brothers (5 & 7 years old). They laugh every time that we read it to them and never seem to tire of granny's astonishment that she isn't ready for her grandson to sleep over. The illustrations are charming and the writing is easy enough for younger children to understand, but funny enough that older children will enjoy the grandchild's clever ploys to stay up longer. This is a great read aloud book and gives the parent/grandparent/teacher lots of chances to use inflection and different voices. A great addition to your own book collection that your children will treasure for years to come!

It is the best book I have ever seen, kind of. It is my second favourite. I like when she makes the big giant teddy. I like the name. It's easy to read. And at the end it's day time because it took her all night to get everything ready.

One of the few concise looks at a colorful er

For product managers and, in fact, *anyone* who contributes the to the making, marketing or selling of products, this is a great reference book to have on your shelves. Linda Gorchels does a masterful job synthesizing all of the issues a product manager must be capable of tackling. She accomplishes this task with clean, well-structured text and examples. The heart of the book is really a series of extended checklists which are comprehensive, well-researched and accesible to the lay reader.

My only complaint is that the book is front-loaded with some some compartively less important stuff, including a chapter entitled "Product Manager.com." I suppose this emphasis is reflective of a book written in 1999 and published in 2000. But as I cast my eye warily at that chapter I was *this close* to just chucking the whole thing.

Just then...bingo. The red meat arrived at Chapter 5 when *finally* the planning skills required to be a PM were introduced. The book from this point (p. 69 in hardcover) on is cram-packed with tremendous information that you'll use again and again.

So, my word of advice when you get this book is either (a) don't give up on it early, or (b) proceed directly to Chapter 5.

The Product Manager's Handbook is a good, general introduction to the subject. The concepts are explained clearly. The book gives a good description of the different steps it takes to transform ideas into commercially viable products and the skill set expected from a performing product manager. The critical financial side of product management, however, deserves more space than only 8 pages in a 290-page book dedicated to the product manager. At the end of the day, a product manager must show the money. Otherwise, the products will be "killed" sooner or later.

Information was helpful however it was very general. As a new product manager I was able to gather enough general information to formulate some idea of how product management is received in organizations. Based on other books I have read this is probably the best one to provide you with that general information. Again, this book is not for the advanced Product Manager.

It's hard for me to be objective about this novel. I grew up with the Deryni books, I read them over and over again, and the first six (Deryni Rising, Deryni Checkmate, High Deryni, Camber of Culdi, Saint Camber, and Camber the Heretic) represented one of my favorite fantasy novel sagas of the time, huge in scope, vast in the apparent stretch of time, richly detailed by an author who knew the historical period, ahhh, it was hard for me to find anything that could measure up.

I waited, with great anticipation, the arrival of the third trilogy, heavily advertised. Bishop's Heir proved excellent and The Kings Justice was also quite interesting (and although I didn't know it, the seeds of my disatisfaction were sown here).

The Quest for Saint Camber, though. The title implied so much, and I knew that this author, so brilliant so far, would never do anything trite, easily expected, or trivial.

However, from the get go, the novel led me down a path of anguish. All the characters started going in odd directions, as if a great fleet had lost its commander, they stumbled around, failed to see things right in front of them, and then were surprised when they were bitten. I felt sick to my stomach, literally.

I went through a short term depression over my disappointment with this book (at that age, my novels were all I had). I will most certainly never read this novel again. I wish it had never been published, much less that I had spent money on it.

Perhaps my expectations were too high, but then, eight previous novels had led those expectations to a high pinnacle . . . the fall hurt.

I find it hard to objetivly reveiw this book. It found that it was very well written, and presented, and I truly had a hard time putting it down. I did have trouble however trying to figure out why Katherine Kurtz went this direction with the characters. I found all that happened very interesting and captivating, but the events seemed so out of place when compared to the path taken in earlier books.

This is one of Kurtz best works and a highly enjoyable read. It pits family members against one another, king's against subjects, Deryni against deryni, and emotions against everyone. Keep kleenex and alot of time handy for this one, because you will need both! Kurtz does a masterful job of bringing the characters to life and vividly describes the heart ache and dissapointment of parents who lose a son, a man who loses the love of his life, and a king who must survive against the toughest odds only to come home and be emotionally destroyed. I DEFINATELY recommend this novel.
