A Great Book!
"I'll See You In My Dreams," by Ilene Cooper, is about a girl named Karen, and a boy named Mark. Karen had dreams of her father dying when she was little. Then, a few days later, he did die.
Now, when Karen is fiften, she has dreams about a boy, Mark. He turns out to be a new boy in school. The only thing was that he showed up at her busstop on the first day of school.
One day, Mark came over and asked if Karen wanted to babysit his younger brother. She accepted. A few nights after her first job, she starts having dreams about him. The dreams were about him dying, which was like her dad.
Karen goes to visit her grandmother in New York because all of this is overwhelming. She went to get coffee and ran into Mark. They had coffee together. They went over the dreams and found out that they were having the SAME ONES!
Vivian, her grandmother, helped them solve the dreams. She knew so much about them because she was the mother to Karen's dad. Soon, they figured out that they didn't have much time to get back home to save Brian. Will they make it in time??
This was one of the best books I have ever read. Ilene Cooper included lots of detail and stil made it an easy read. I would reccommend this book to a lot of people who like mysteries and suspense.

Dreams
Dreams can sometimes just be a fairy land, You know how they say in your dreams. But what if that came true? what you dream about is what will happen in the future. You knew you father would die at age five but what if having these sort of dreams a Fifteen. That is what is happening to Karen. Can she save a life this time? And keep what happened to her father from happening again.

Dreams are Great! They're even better when they're understood
Karen is a high schooler who lives with her mom, stepdad, and stepsister. She experiences dreams that are very unusual. Her dreams happen to come true. This seems like a great thing to some of us, but it is not for Karen. She had a dream that her father dies in a serious car accident. Soon after her dream, he dies. So Karen wasn't surprised when she drempt about a boy, and he shows up at her bus stop. Karen soons finds herself babysitting his younger brother, Brian. Now Karen started having dreams about Brian. Her dream showed that Brian would die, too, in a terrible accident. Karen is determined to save Brian, but how will she do it? Karen must act fast and piece together a puzzle full of her past, and her future. I thought this book was full of excitment, mystery, and love. Each idea was connected with another idea that the author provided. This book definately kept my attention the entire time. This story should have a sequel. I think girls would enjoy it more than boys, but it is appropiate for boys to read. This book keeps you thinking about dreams and how we should treat our parents. You will never know when they will be taken away from you.

--Alison is thrilled when she is offered a part in a new TV series - especially since she didn't try out; she was only at the television studio because her friend Dana wanted to audition! But she soon finds out that show business is tougher than it looks: Alison is getting mixed messages from her co-star Jamie. Is she trying to help Alison...or get her kicked out? Jamie suggests something to "spice up" Alison's character on the series, "Sticks and Stones" which the new director loves...but Alison has a feeling that the old director would have hated it. She can't believe that Jamie would try to get rid of her just because the audition staff took an interest in her by chance. What is Jamie really up to? --Nicely written details in this fast-moving novel gave it a great appeal to me. --Marisa

Fast paced and exciting!
I've read this book several times because of its great, exciting plot and true-to-life characterizations. Anyone who's ever dreamed about becoming a star will love this book.

Ali's a rich girl who inadvertantly becomes a television star when she joins her wannabe-actress friend Dana at an audition. Jamie is a former child star now living with her mother and sister over a chinese restaurant. She is joyous at learning that she's been cast in a new TV sitcom, until she learns that she's been paired with amiture Ali simply because both girls have bright red hair. Jealousy and friction occur between the girls, maily on Jamie's part. These issues are not handeled lightly; instead, they are portrayed as realistically as possible. In later books, issues of body image, class conflict, and absent parents are discussed, and none are given easy answers. That's what I like about this book -- it always feels very true to life. As a reader, i identify with both girls at different points in their lives. As well, I can't help but fawn over the lush and lavish descriptions of Allison's house and the life of fame. This is just the type of exciting and interesting book that makes you want to read more-- Oops! Too bad the rest are out of print. :-( Anyway, I really enjoyed this book, and am glad that I got the first three in the series before they went out of print.

Finally a breakthrough into chapter reading!!
I've tried, unsucessfully, a number of times to introduce my son to chapter books. He is only four, but will be turning five soon. I wanted him to experience the imaginative process of developing an image in his mind from what he hears. This is the first book that has held his interest. He can't read it himself but I can see his face change expression as he listens - I know his mind is at work. We always only read one chapter at a time, drawing the story out. He always can recall the story up to the starting point and is anxious to hear another chapter. I feel like the "magic" of books has been taken to a new level for our little reader - what an amazing thing to see.

ROAR! I'm hungry for more books like this---so I can EAT!
I kept putting off the time I would "eat" this book cause it's about "Hollywood and all that." I thought it would all be about: "Oh no, my hair is lopsided!" and all that dumb nonsense about how they look and how glamorous a movie star's life is. Instead I got rivalry and family problems and I know the way I say this sounds no better than my first opinion but nevertheless this book is way cool! I think Brad is a total jerk and I'm SO glad that Alison broke up with him. I mean, talk about a waste of space! Sheesh. And the way Ilene Cooper(the writer,)makes Mr.O'leary talk seems so... real. I actually feel SYMPATHY for the characters in this story, I mean the way they talk, act and feel seems so realistic. The promblem (or the good thing) about Jamie and Alison is they are practically EQUAL. I mean Alison is all sweet, innocent, pretty, nice and understanding but she's WAY too goody-goody and easy to push around. Now Jamie is also pretty but in a different way, even though she is also a redhead. See Jamie is more curvy and athletic-looking, (at least that's how I think of her,) and Alison is all slim and angelic-looking. Now Jamie has a tougher life and is more of an individual while Alison depends so much on her "mommy and daddy". I feel sorry for the O'leary family cause everything is all messed up. In the summary of the book I don't think it's right to mention Jamie's diet. It wasn't that big of a deal. Dana is a total and complete, I mean "incomplete" airhead and is totally weird and unreasonably pushy. I LUV it when Jamie told her off, she had it coming. I sort of think it isn't fair, at the prom, Jamie had a great time (except for ugh, Brad,) and Alison had practically the worst night of her life because of duh... Brad. I wish Elsie appeared more in the story, she's cute. Overall, this book is a must-read and you better read it or else... P.S. I apologise for my uhh... strange way of speaking. Ta-ta!

Queen of the Sixth Grade
The Book I have been reading for the past few weeks is Queen of the Sixth Grade by Ilene Cooper. The book is about a 12 year old girl named Robin and her best friend Veronica. Veronica is the most popular girl in the sixth grade and all the girls fawn over her.But When Veronica decides to make a club called the AKG's and says Robin is out.Robin doesn't have a single friend left. Robin feels pretty sorry for herself.Until Robin puts her unsuspected talents to use. Suddenly a new queen reigns over the sixth grade (Robin). This book is a fantastic interesting book. I'm really glad I got the chance to read it. I recommend this book to anyone who is willing to read a thrilling novel. Most of all for kids in 6th grade. Because it is about 6th graders and what can happen if you turn everyone on one person and what can happen.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book was soooooooooooo good. The characters are so real. It's like you are actually there. You will probably meet someone someday who is exactly like one of these characters.
