loving someone else
Holly Campion is looking for a job because her parents don't have the money to send her to the college that she wants to go to so she's trying to make money to pay for her own way to go to Sarah Lawrence. Her brother has to transfer colleges because they don't have the money for him to finish. So she sees an ad in the paper for the perfect job so she goes for an interview. when she gets there she realizes it's an old grungy looking house and she has to take care of two old ladies. The reason is because the oldest one named Blossom just had hip surgery and she's not able so their nephew was looking for someone to take care of them for eight dollars an hour. They told her that she would have to do laundry, dishes.and maybe a little cooking. So she decided to take the job because she figured up how much she would get paid and she figured she would be getting 1,370 dollars a month. The old lady shows her around the house and she shows her her room and says to make herself at home.Well the next day she brings some stuff over to make herself feel more at home and someone comes through the window and it scares her and the old lady came up the stairs because Holly started screaming and said that it was just the repair guy who fixes things for them when they need things repaired and she thought he was cute but not as cute as she thought Avery their nephew was when she saw him the day she got the job because he wanted to see who was taking care of his aunts. The next day Blossom wanted to take her to show her around the town because she wasn't from their side of the town and Pete the repair guy told her to wait until she sees the car because she was excited about going. They went outside to the garage and Blossom opened the door and she saw the car it was a cadillac but the ordinary kind of car it was a herse that belonged to Blossom's husband.Well they started out the driveway and down the road the road was really narrow and there was a car coming and Blossom wasn't slowing down or stopping so Holly got scared and closed her eyes.

Funny and Interesting
While this book is aimed at children, adults will probably enjoy reading about the crazy situations that appear in it. The eleven year old protagonist, Pokey Bloom, loves to enter as many contests as she can in hopes of finally striking it rich. The book's scenes involving her family life are very humorous and well-written. Pokey's older brother has suddenly become a radical vegetarian who espouses yoga, health food and clean living while Pokey's father spends all his free time trying to fix their leaky bathtub. Pokey manages to get herself in some crazy situations and one especially funny scene takes place when she decides to sell greeting cards door-to-door (keep you eyes open for the scene involving Mrs. Stern). I hope this book gets reprinted and made available for wide distribution because it is a real pleasure to read and reread.

A cozy book to curl up in bed with...
This collection features 4 short love stories about prom night -- expectations, surprises, and of course, romance! . "Social Studies" is about two nerdy, but hormonal teen-age boys who use the scientific approach to try to get dates from the prom. "Three Strikes and a Foul Ball" is about a tom-boy type girl who condemns the prom, yet desperately plots to find a date. "Frankenstein" is about a female gossip columnist's vision of the perfect man and the excitement it brings to her high school. "Something Better" is about a girl's superficial obsession with the hunky high school jock and how she finds "something better"

A Preteen-Teen Must
This is a fun and quick read for preteens and teens. I picked my copy up in a local book store and have been reading once every summer since. A prefect summer read! All girls should read this book before entering high school. Seven Days to a Brand New Me is similar to books written by Judy Blume and
just as good.

This book was very interesting to read. I liked it.
I read the book Seven Days to a Brand New Me. Ellen Conford wrote this book. It is about this girl who thinks that she is dull and boring. She wants to get a guy to notice her. So, while shopping with her friend, she finds a romance novel, and this book: Seven Days to a Brand New Me. She buys both books because she wants to be like the woman on the cover of the book. She starts following the information in the book. It starts looking like things are great, then she sees the guy with another girl. I will not tell you anymore because you have to read the book to find out what happens to her and the boy. All I have to say is that I really enjoyed the book, and the ending was a surprise.

Seven Days to a Brand New Me
Seven Days to a Brand New Me, is a book of great detail and can be related to kid life. The book was very easy to read because of a couple of flashbacks that will explain the plot of the book. When you read this book several "What-If's" go through your head, and that's what makes it so interesting.

Crush

"Ellen Conford's Crush won't crush you."
I like the book titled "Crush" written by author Ellen Conford. It's a book full of short stories, that are in a series, so it's a story collection. The whole entire book is set around a Valetine's Day dance at Cutter's Forge High School called the Sweetheart Stomp. There are ten stories in all. In order, the titles of these stories are: 'Room 202', 'The Gifts of the Mangy', 'Have a Heart', 'Metamorphosis', 'Two Coins in the Fountian', 'Russian Overture', 'Call Waiting', 'Cross Out Where Not Applicable', 'Lucky Break', and 'At the Stomp'. In 'Room 202', it's really just an introducton to the whole thing, where you get to meet each of the characters and learn something about them. In 'The Gifts of the Mangy', Amy Porter and her boyfriend "Batso" are trying to figure out what Valentine's Day gifts to give each other. Amy has long fingernails that are constantly covered in manicures, while Batso (which isn't his real name) has long hair. In 'Have a Heart', it takes a little while for Will Moffet to find out how his girlfriend Linda Sherman is a con artist. In 'Metamophosis', a group of girlfriends decide to send Valentine's Day cards to a dweeb guy they dislike just so he won't feel too bad about not being liked, but something shocking happens. In 'Two Coins in the Fountain', B.J. Greene makes two wishes about going to the dance that turn true; this story is sort of weird. In 'Russian Overture', Janushka Farrentino (Jamie) interviews foreign exchange student Alexei Grigorov (who pretends to be dumb) for the school newspaper; the interview turns into something surprising. In 'Call Waiting', Di Callahan tries to talk on the telephone with a girlfriend but instead some guys call to ask her out to the upcoming dance. In 'Cross Out Where Not Applicable', Doug Meyers writes a letter to B.J Greene, basically telling her how he likes her and such. In 'Lucky Break', Laurel Baker breaks her ankle and can't go to the dance,
but yet, at the hospital, something happens which makes her ankle almost worth breaking. And then, 'At the Stomp' takes place at the waited-for Sweetheart Stomp and just tells what happens there and who ended up dating who and what the couples do. Each of these stories are simple, small, and short. But the book itself is worth reading; except for a few bad phrases of swearing. I think teen girls, ages 12 and above, would like or enjoy this book for a (quick or so) fun read. Whether you read it on Valentine's Day (which I didn't, it's December, afterall) or not. This book is a little different then what the author usually writes (but maybe not, this is only my opinion), but you can telling this is her work by her humourous/humourness and wit.

Crush
If you are looking for a good book to read, then read Crush, by Ellen Conford. Crush is about a girl named B.J and her school is having a Sweet Heart Stomp , and she hasn't found a date yet. B.J is mad because the boy that she likes is going to the dance with a girl that she doesn't like. B.J tries to find a date to the dance, but she can't find anybody to go with. One day B.J finds a wishing well and wishes for a date to the Sweet Heart Stomp. A few minutes later a boy shows up and asks her to the dance. That afternoon B.J goes home and tries to figure out what she is going to wear. Right that instant B.J goes into the den and gets her clothes, then trips over her brother's weights and breaks her ankle. B.J started crying and her mom came in and asked her what was wrong. B.J. said, "I think I broke my ankle," and right then her mother rushes her to the hospital and waits for the doctor. B.J started to worry about the dance, because she thought she wasn't going to get to go. After all B.J desides to go and hang out with her friends.

A Really Sweet Book
If you are looking for a great book to read check out Ellen Conford's Crush. Here are three major reasons why you need to read this book. First of all, B.J. Green, the main character of the book, really wants to go to the Sweetheart Stomp. She doesn't have a date or a dress to wear. The Sweetheart Stomp is only a week away. B.J. goes to a wishing fountain in front of a pizza place and makes two wishes. The first wish is that someone would ask her to the Sweetheart Stomp, and the second is that someone who really likes her would ask her to the Sweetheart Stomp. Secondly, B.J. finds out that a guy named Doug really likes her. He asks her to the Sweetheart Stomp. Both her wishes had come true! I thought that was neat. Now her wishes really did come true. Lastly, B.J. goes to the Sweetheart Stomp with Doug. She has a wonderful time. I was so glad that B.J. had a good time at the Sweetheart Stomp, aren't you? This is a really sweet book with a really happy ending. I recommend Crush, by Ellen Conford, if you are looking for a great book.

It's funny and will keep you on your toes!
It was funny and the moments with Casmir kept me tense. It was a little far-fetched, though. (Being switched at birth with a princess is really suprising and not really realistic.) Anyways... "A Royal Pain" is about a fifeteen year old girl named Abby. Abby comes home from school one day and is told she is really Princess Florinda of Saxony Coburn. So after the wild trip to Saxony Coburn, Abby is taught how to be graceful, polite, ect. One small thing they didn't tell her- she has

to marry on her sixteenth birthday to some creepy prince named Casmir. So after a long drown out escapade, she finds out she isn't a princess and gets the guy she really wants. Overall it's a good read!

Thrilling and Filled with Laughs to the End.
I love Ellen Confords' "A Royal Pain". It was very hard to put down and I was laughing to the very end. I live the ideas and disguises that Abby comes up with. This is a very good romantic comedy. Ellen Confords has displays part of her imagination brilliantly through her words. I could feel as if I was standing right there in the story watching it progress.
I highly reccommend this book!

A Must Have!
I absolutely LOVE this book. The fact that this young girl is so resourceful adds laughs. This book is my comfort book.I read it whenever I feel low. Everyone should read it!
