Run Away!
I have nothing good to say about this work. There are much better works for learning renaissance sword work. Run don't walk away from this one.

Essential for rediscovering the lost art of the rapier
Only one practical, illustrated guide to the lost art of Western swordsmanship exists, and it is John Clements' Renaissance Swordsmanship. Clements, along with several colleagues, has been engaged for several years in the ambitious project of separating the true fighting practices of the Renaissance Masters of Defense from all the nonsense you see in the movies. His approach combines a careful reading of the period manuals with live-steel experimentation and testing. The result is a book that serves as a practical handbook for the student who wants to learn not how to "fence" but how to fight with a sword. Clements' illustrations are ideal -- much better than photographs at communicating the necessary movements. In addition, Clements provides useful commentary on modern abberations such as stage combat, sport fencing, and SCA-style fantasy fighting to set the true art in contrast to false resonances in contemporary culture. At a time when our memory of the Western martial tradition is all but eclipsed by the illusion of Hollywood sport fencing and an inordinant reverence for the martial arts of the East, this book is essential for anyone who wants to understand what Renaissance Swordsmanship was really all about.

A must-read for the serious martial artist and swordsman
This book is the impressive result of one of the most daring enterprises the world of Martial Arts has to offer. Through years of careful studies of period manuals, combined with the study of historical weapons and long-term practice, the author recreates an extinct fighting art: The fight with the renaissance rapier and its companion, the renaissance cut-and-thrust sword. The emphasis is clearly placed on the martial aspect, in other words, this book deals with sword FIGHTING rather than with sport fencing, stage-combat or roleplaying. The impressive bibilography at the end of the book makes very clear that John Clements has done a considerable amount of research and that the techniques presented are definetly more than invented moves. This book is a no-nonsense, no-compromise work on a subject surrounded by lots of myth and stupid prejudices and it is definetly a slap in the face of modern sport fencers or costumed theorists who think, they are the only ones how know.

Anyone with a serious interest in European Martial Arts should give this refreshing, informative work a very close look.

solution for the excercises
it is a very good book actually, but i'm having some difficulties in solving the exercise, so i think this book need a complementary book or some kind of manual or solution. But if there is, I would like to be informed about where i can get that kind of book. Thank U!

Advanced accounting
I used this book as my self-study material and I benefited from this book a lot. I would recommend using it either as a textbook for Advanced Accounting course or as a reference book for professionals. Here are the few points that I would like to share with you:

1.Logical order The order to display the topics in this book is logical and consistent. This is important for self-study users. At the beginning of each chapter, there's always a paragraph or two summarize the main points that are going to present in the chapter. This gives the reader a whole picture.

2. Clear explanation and examples The book uses easy explanatory languages and the examples are very representative. Each example, the author is showing us every detail steps, so it is easy to follow.

3.Relevant exercises and problems. At the end of each chapter, there are questions that can help to reinforce the concepts. Most questions can be found directly from the material. There are also exercises and problems that are related to the topic presented in the chapter. I remember there is an accounting book I used before that the problems required more knowledge than the chapter actually covered. This not the case in this book. Some of the examples in the chapter could be used as quick reference while working on the problems, too.

The only thing I would recommend, if I need to find some, is that I hope there could be more real life issues mentioned in the book. In this way, readers can relate the knowledge to daily life even closer.

Not very useful.
Nothing more than you can get from manufacturer's literature. A comparison of features for the various models.

Decent book to have for the price, but not very extensive.
This book goes into the features available with each of the cameras, but doesn't teach you anything that you wouldn't already know from reading the camera's manual. It is a decent reference to have when comparing each of the camera's. I've read my copy and haven't touched it since though. There is a (very) short section about the history of Pentax.

Good pix.
Beautiful pictures, but the story
is a bit weak and perhaps too
politically correct. Not a bad book,
though.

One of the worst books I've ever read
This book is horrible. I am not writing this review as a disenchanted uniformitarianism, but actually as a Christian scientist. It is the attitude of such men as Mr. Whitcomb that the myth of the ignorant Christian is perpetuated. In his book, he attempts to disprove science by simply dismissing it, rather than actually addressing the issue. It is by skirting the issue that he hopes to make his impact. Also, he uses italics and exclamation points heavily, which is a sign of emotional, rather than sound, scientific logic. Whitcomb must learn that in order to disprove science, you have to use science. I would not ever recommend this book, unless you are morbidly curious to read such an atrocity.
