Discovering Wholeness
I have had this book as part of my library for a number of years and while I have sorted through and disposed of many books due to lack of shelf space, this is one book that will always have a permanent place among favorites. It clearly helped me to understand the need to recognize and find my own identity and to then encourage others in their own process of finding wholeness, learning how to develope healthy and productive relationships in the process. Ken clearly expresses the freedom we can find as we develop a relationship with God through His Spirit as He leads us through our earthly relationships, teaching us what true love really means--freedom to be REAL people. Accepting and encouraging each other through the process of living the life we have, growing and maturing and becoming more genuine in the process.

This book truly "puts us in our place"; How wonderful!
Ken Schmidt is a marriage and family counselor in Ventura, California who has written an inspired book about where we fit into the scheme of things. Instead of blaming our parents or blaming society or blaming some other person or factor in our lives, Ken enables the reader to see that God can bring us into a right relationship with the people in our lives as well as Himself if we see Him and ourselves as He designed those relationships to be. I have purchased copies for troubled friends and was hoping to buy another copy from Amazon. I definately recommend it.

Pediatric Neurology: Principles & Practice (2-Volume Set)
Pediatric Neurology: Principles & Practice (2-Volume Set) by Kenneth F. Swaiman(Editor), Stephen Ashwal 1999

Do you have this book in Spanish???

A Bible for Pediatric Neurologists
This is really a bible for a Pediatric Neurologist as me. Almost all aspects in the field of pediatric neurology are broaldy and deeply discussed, especially adding many important new chapters in this new edition, such as Tourette syndrome and ketogenic diet. All the material is well updated. There are many small errors which perhaps may be misinterpretated by beginners. However, it won't shake its role as a bible. Of course, non-neurologist pediatricians, non-pediatrician neurologists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation specialists, and all neuroscientists concerning children or developing nervous system will feel satisfactory on referring this great book.

For anyone contemplating our caught up in a divorce action
Written by professional marriage and family therapists Kenneth and Janice Dimick, Child Custody: Achieving A Parenting Partnership is a practical, helpful and straightforward guide written for the non-specialist general reader who is going through the difficulties of a divorce where there are children involved. The focus is upon the American legal divorce system and how the standard proceedings tend to leave mothers without sufficient funds and fathers without sufficient access to their children. Child Custody explores methods by which parenting partnership can be achieved, allowing a couple to work together to raise children even though they no longer live together. Child Custody is very highly recommended, essential reading for anyone contemplating our caught up in a divorce action with child custody issues and concerns.

So far, our 1st choice Bible for our 2 year old
We haven't gone through the whole Bible yet with our two year old, but so far, we have enjoyed this children's Bible. He particularly enjoys the pictures and the little images of bugs and rainbows and such, which they've included near the page numbers! We have noticed that it shares more than just stories from the Bible as many children's Bibles do...it tries to teach LESSONS from the stories, for example, on the Creation and Fall story, some children's Bibles only focus on Creation and skip the Fall story. This Bible also teaches about the Fall, specifically pointing out that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and that God sent them out of the Garden as part of their punishment. The next story is about Cain and Abel and how one obeyed and the other disobeyed. Following that is the Noah story, teaching how Noah believed and obeyed God.

My 2 wishes so far in this version of the Bible is (1) for the author to connect the stories somehow...for example, to transition from the Cain and Abel story to the Noah story, one could say something to the effect of: "People all over the earth were evil and God decided to destroy mankind with a lot of rain. However, Noah believed God and God was merciful by protecting Noah and his family..." And (2) for each book of the Bible to be given attention. I noticed Leviticus was skipped, which is important to establish the foundation of the concept of sacrificial atonement, the precursor for all to understand the system which God chose to establish, so that Christ substitutionary sacrifice for us would make more sense.

Haven't gotten to the New Testament yet to give an editorial...

This is a completely new look at race relations in America
This book is a sleeper that will ultimately find its place among the best books on race, children, and Black-Jewish relationships in post War America. Unlike so many books that relie on the invented memory of a few primary actors, this scholarly account closely follows the crisis among Blacks and Jews through the experiences of children. Besides being an excellent political biography of Mamie and Kenneth Clark, the book is a troubling journey into the lives of the children of the great black migration. Despite its seemingly narrow focus, this is a rich narrative account of recent American history.

Easy explaination on hard to concieve concepts about God
My two boys, (three and five years old) love this book and request it to be read to them! I was enlightened on how the author made concepts about God easy to for young children to grasp and enjoy. This is also a great book to keep on hand for when hard to answer questions come up about God, and the purpose of Jesus. Highly reccomend it to everyone!
