Excellent IR testing source
This book is the ultimate guide for Infrared Testing. The author is a leading authority in the field and extremely knowledgeable of IR testing. He has presented this in a format that is as close to "hands on" as you can get from a book. I have purchased this book for new hires and experienced physicists alike. The book works not only as an intro but is very valuable as a reference guide. It is written in an easy to understand format and will not overwelm you with excessive math. I find this book extremely valuable in the field.

Splendid little book.
The Jacksonian Era is a splendid little book of concise invaluable history. It addresses the major themes of the Jackson Presidency: slavery, the Bank War, the robbed election, Indian removal, and even dabbles into Jackson past, which is full of grand military victories. What many people fail to grasp is the fact that without Jackson's desisive victory in New Orleans, during the War of 1812, with the British, we may not have a perfect Union, or a Union at all.

An Absolute Must for any person who communicates
This authorative book on the vast subject of Business Communication is easy to read and understand. The style of presentation allows enjoyable reading such that my appetite has been whetted for further investigation. The authors have managed to turn a mundane topic into an absorbing subject. Regret that I have only discovered this illustrative book whilst busy completing my Doctorate in Psychology as it would have been useful during my earlier degrees. The publication is applicable to all serious literature students, writers and authors and general business personnel. Well illustrated with actual examples and surprisingly up to date with the newest trends and covers every conceivable aspect about the subject. The publication is interspersed with useful hints and insight. The contents initiate much thought and initiative within the reader's cognitive abilities. So glad I found it. It shall always accompany me where I work and think. Such an item should be part of everyone's library and would make a useful gift. I hope to soon be the proud owner of such myself. Congratulations to the authors on a fine team effort. Please keep it updated. Roy K Els. MSc (Psycho)

19th century farmer's diary with 20th century photos
This little book is beautifully produced with exquisite photos of an old barn taken by master photographer Szarkowski. The accompanying excerpts from Philo Blinn's 19th century are both poignant and evocative of life in Columbia County New York. Philo Blinn was just an ordinary farmer, but he had a way with words that make his life and that of his neighbors come to life.

Reptiles (National Audobon Society's First Field Guide)
This is a wonderful little book! I bought this for my 4 year old son, and he just loves it. He is not yet able to read, but really enjoys the beautiful photos. It also comes with a reference card that has thumbnails of all of the most common reptiles. So that if you see one, you can find it quickly. He looks at it for hours. It's a fun learning tool.

An excellent play!
Tracers is a compelling, harsh funny and moving look at the Vietnam War, as told by men who fought there. Originally developed through psychodrama workshops, the play takes several archetypal soldiers- the black militant, the scared kid, the hippie soldier, and places them in a series of vignettes that are frighteningly realistic in what the young men of the 60s and 70s went through in Vietnam. A must read!

Green Mountain Beauty!
As a lifelong Vermonter, now wintering in Florida, this book is a "must have" to remind me and my family of the special quality of life in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The book is a well written history of the state and includes splendid photographs of diverse scenes throughout the state.

Yes, because it tells the story of a man fulfilling his childhood dream of coming to America. And in a sense he does become a modern cowboy, as an electronics worker in the Silicon Valley.
No, because it chronicles the adventures of a man living on the edge, battling against the day-to-day obstacles that would thwart his dream of attaining success is America.
English Cowboy is a good read. It tells the often poignant story of a child born into a poor family and his quest to better his station in life. The author brings characters to life with his realistic descriptions and accounts of their sometimes dastardly deeds.
Many people of modest means can identify with the author's account of this real-life story. Growing up in a cruel, sometimes brutal society, he surmounts people, customs, traditions and dangers that would limit his success, or even end his life. Through his wisdom, wile, or just plain luck, he becomes a "cowboy."
After reading this book and thoroughly enjoying it, I recommend it to everyone. I cannot wait for the sequel to come out, where he transitions from an English-American to a true cowboy.
