This author of this book interprets passages of the bible in layman terms. Her gift was as though Jesus was speaking through her. Strength, courage, and the ability to see beyond trouble times is the beauty of this book.

I found this book at a difficult time in my life and the words based on Scripture made me feel that God was speaking directly to me. I have given this book to friends and family also. I highly recommend this book!

I found this book when I was a sophmore in college and now buy it as a gift for many friends and relatives. Based so soundly on God's principles and promises it is sure to set straight some of the unconscious notions and impressions about God that we harbor and live with each day! It has become a treasured reference in my own personal library!

I read this book when it first came out. I was a new Christian and what this man went through made my problems seem so small. I loaned/gave this book to others and they all feel the same. Including my husband. When the Lady of the house tells her little girl that Robert doesn't have a soul. She said, "he's like an animal, he doesn't have a soul. I was so angry at her stupidity. However, I continued reading and went from anger to incredulous to envy of Roberts wonderful connection to God. It's an incredible book.

This is the best book I have ever read and it has changed the course of my life into the direction of the supernatural. I have read it several times, captivated by the horrors and hardships in this mans life. Balanced by the phenomenal unbelievable experiences he encountered by trusting and obeying the Lord.

Each chapter is very well-written, succinct and pleasurable to read (easy to read because of the fantastic layout.) Even if you dislike devotions, I guarantee you will love this one. It is unlike any other.

From the moment I began reading I knew I had something exceptional in my hands. Marie writes as if it is the words of the Lord speaking personally to me in a clear and modern vein. It is a deeply touching and moving devotional. It is prayer, from God to me. I appreciated the 'catagorial' Contents for the easiest reference. This is one remarkable comforting and inspirational book. My first copy I actually gave to a best friend.

Absolutely awesome book, has helped me a lot, I am separated at the moment & I can see the mistakes I have made and more importantly how to rectify them. I read this book as an undergraduate in college. The Lord was teaching me not to be hypocritical and to tell the truth. Which is very interesting because under the scrutiny of my self and even many others I would not be viewed as untruthful. This book was like a magnifying glass on my life. Little minute details were examined. This book I would say is therapy without paying the thousands of dollars. I have seen the hidden parts of my heart examined. I start to see the reasons I am afraid of change.. why I hardly have an opinion and how to be straight forward and not to be afraid to take risks. I recommend this book to every one. This book definitely tells you how to change. With the help of the Holy Spirit and the book I am totally different now.

This book is excellently written. Easily understood, and straight to the point. The author gives plenty of scripture to reference her points. I really enjoyed this book and am recommending it to many of my friends to read and help them gain more confidence too.

This is a wonderful book for children. I still have mine from when I was a child and now read it to my children. It is very basic, but informative!

It is in the secret place that we often hear the gentle whispers of the Lord. As Marie Chapion challenges readers to get alone and become intimate with a real and loving God, the Father's true heart for His children is revealed. As you read this book you find that Jesus is what you've been seeking. He calms the sea of restlessness in our hearts. The pages bring to life what a believer trully experiences and feels in His walk with the Lord. Marie has delivered another book revealing the beauty of His love and His everlasting strength for the future.

Telling Yourself the Truth has been a book that has gone a long way toward helping me retrain my thinking. I'm starting to see that so much of our reactions to life arise out of the self-talk that goes on inside our own heads. Unfortunately, a lot of that self talk is based upon our past experiences and hurts and we tend to see every situation filtered through those past events. But a lot of the time, this filter that we use doesn't apply and thus it creates a lie or misbelief. Telling Yourself the Truth helps set us free from these misbeliefs and starts helping us see things without the chains from our past.

In my case, I have been struggling with recovering from a divorce. Having failed in marriage, I had conditioned my thinking about relationships and marriage with the feelings of failure and a fear that any relationship was doom to failure.
