Head and shoulders over most guides to healthy eating
The recipes in this book are well above average and are not generally difficult to prepare. California style - fruit juices, mostly citrus, are frequently used in marinades, salad dressings, and dips - adds a good deal to many of the recipes. My husband and I enjoyed this so much we have frequently given it as a gift.

Great toy, Great little book
I bought my Icky Poo in a pack with 2 paddle ropes - the icky poo - and the book. I was 12 at the time and I am now 15, and I looked this up because I lost one paddle rope and the other snapped recently after 3 years of faithful service. The icky poo is just so much fun, even for one so mature as myself. (?)It's like a big, thick, sticky elastic band with a flat head at one end which sticks to paper and adds weight for zapping and zinging. Techniques for these and and other activities based on them are provided in the short book, which is exceptionally funny considering it is supposedly aimed at 6 to 8 year olds and is essentially an instruction manual. It's an entertaining read, anyway, but the games themselves aren't all workable. There are some gems such as paper bag banzai and lunch table poo, but you'd probably be just as well playing with a friend and seeing what games you come up with spontaneously. I can only fault this product by asking what were they thinking when they decided to include only one paddle rope with this edition. You will need 2 for any decent games. and eventually they will lose their "ick" (although you can wash them) and get lost and snapped and suffer the inevitable wear and tear that any good toy does. So why aren't they sold seperately?

Flypaper Trash Ball
Icky Poo is a not just a toy, it is a tool. It has helped unleash the kid in me. Nothing brings more joy into my life than my Icky Poo and my wife. Two essential items to a great relationship. I remember many years ago learning Fly Paper Trash Ball, a game that will reach your inner feelings. My buddy, Cory, and I went in together and bought an Icky Poo Pack. We each got a paddle. Wow, was that fun. I remeber many times running around and around the dorms, in hopes to land an Icky Poo on Cory's Face. What a joy to me. I love Icky Poo.

I love this Icky Poo Book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is great for all Icky Poo lovers it comes with a free icky poo toy and it has all the fun facts that you have ever wannted to know about icky poo. I first got my Icky Poo bookm when i was 12 and i have loved icky poo ever since. I dont know what id do without my icky poo. Sure it may sound like a sick title, buyt really once you see the icky poo youll love it so much youll never forget it. If icky poo was never made id probaby die. I think that they should make more and more of them and never stop because one just simply iusnt enough. So please please buy this book it will be a memory youwill cherish forever. You will also crave icky poo just like me when i got my first one. This sticky paddle is the best ever in the whole wide world. So please dont fret buy the icky icky poo poo

John's Gospel in the New Perspective: Christology and the Realities of Roman Power
Published in Paperback by Orbis Books (1992)
Author: Richard J. Cassidy

This book is very significant for Johannine studies!
This book is very significant for Johannine studies. As well as documenting telling connections between Johannine Christianity's religious commitments against their Roman backdrops, this book demolishes the naive view that because Roman persecution of Christians is not documented in Roman historical records until the third century one cannot infer the Roman empire was a source of hardship for Christians in the first and second centuries CE. Cassidy builds a convincing picture, based on the events between the reigns of Vespasian and Tatian, of what interactions with the empire may have been like for Mediterranean residents of the early Christian era. All it takes is some local enforcement of empirial clout for the Roman presence to have been experienced as problematic for Christians and Jews during this era.

Paul N. Anderson

Visiting Associate Professor of New Testament, Yale Divinity School

Tightly written. Covers areas other exegetists haven't.
This was a really interesting book and covered aspects of the New Testament period and early Christianity that usually is not considered adequately, namely the setting of the Roman Empire and what effects this might have had on Chrsitianity and the early Church. The book is thoughtful.

Buy it for the bean bags
This is a nice little book, but the real value is that you get a decent set of juggling bean bags for a good price. The book does a nice job explaining the basic moves of juggling but the truth is that this all could be condensed to just a page or two. The majority of the book is a lot of filler; for example, the step in the learning process which dictates that you drop all the balls directly onto the floor. Other sections ramble needlessly about irrelevant topics, and there's a large section dedicated to juggling clubs (like bowling pins) which isn't very practical for a beginner, especially since clubs are expensive and not included with the book.

Certainly the book achieves what it claims to do, namely present a detailed description of the process of juggling, but this is no magic pill. Even after reading the book and learning the very simple steps required to juggle, the real work remains. The important points of the book, if you can discern them from amongst the many extraneous details, can be digested in ten or fifteen minutes. But it will take several hours of practice-- the book wisely recommends frequent but short practice sessions-- to see any real results.

The good news is that with a little dedication and a little coordination, anyone can learn to juggle. The learning process is frustrating at times, and the book really doesn't make it any less so, but at least you'll know you're doing it the right way. The included bean bags have a nice feel and a good weight, which certainly helps, and they alone make the book a worthwhile purchase.

If you want to learn to juggle, this is the book for you!!
I'm buying this book for my 9 year old cousin because I used it to learn to juggle when I was her age. This book takes you step by step through the process and ACTUALLY WORKS!! I can still juggle to this day and it always impresses people!! You do need to dedicate some time to this, but it's alot of fun, and helps you get coordinated! I recommend this book to anyone!

Remembering Jack and Bobby: A Kennedy Anthology

NOTABLE QUOTABLES
I enjoyed this book. In addition to covering material on the two most famous brothers in history, it provided a good source of quotes from both men. These quotes are good tools to research the thinking and expressions of these two very different brothers.

Robert Kennedy was regarded as being less articulate than his older brother. Be that as it may, he was by far and away the most passionate and deeply moving speaker. His voice was really the voice of everyone; he was the man who spoke for minorities, persons living in poverty and for civil rights. Robert Kennedy provided a voice of hope to many during the last half decade of his life. He was the man who not only climbed the mountain [in 1965], but the man who would later move mountains with his focus on curing societal ills.

The Best of Jack and Bobby
What a great book to have on your desk. I refer to it constantly for all the great quotes. It's for speaking and living.

Super cool & super fun!
Hey -- this book is great fun!

You get to learn a little bit about knots and you get to tie them with strings and holes nicely cut into the book!

The book won't show you anything too complex or fancy but will have you passing basic seamanship by the end of the day.

Great Introduction
This book is a great way to get started on knots - only 25 knots. The author has selected the knots that are most useful. It also includes two strands of red and blue rope and some of the pages are thick with holes in the correct locations to try some of the hitches (knots you tie to stuff). It was exactly what I needed to get my feet wet, not feel overwhelmed by the thousands of existing knots and to know some useful knots to use in real life quickly.

Great for learning all the basic knots, great reference
I knew nothing about knots besides tying my shoelaces (and the book showed me a better way to do even THAT). This book is great because it gives you 24 of the most basic knots to tie (out of supposedly 4000 in existence) and gives you step-by-step instructions alongside thick-cardboard die-cut pages with a couple long strings to practice with. I've used it as a reference many many times since buying it.
