A practical guide to help students through junior high.
If I had had this book before I started junior high school, I think I would have enjoyed the experience a whole lot more. Cassel gives practical, concrete advice on everything from test taking to organizing your life to making friends and handling peer pressure. My son liked the interactive nature of the book and the fact that it was geared toward him as a Christian youth. I liked that it got him thinking about those upcoming junior high years, what he could expect, and how he could handle it all. Now if Cassel would just do a practical dating guide that I could hand him in a couple more years!

A Must for All Middle School and Jr High Students
This book is a useful one for youth entering middle school or jr high. They will learn practical skills in the areas of note taking, studying for test, setting goals and doing homework. They also will learn friendship skills and how to deal with peer pressure.

A Must Read for Junior High Students
This book is a must read for any student in junior high or soon to enter junior high. This is a scary time for any teen ager and Ms. Cassel answers a lot of questions about studying, peer pressure and how to deal with all those little problems that crop up unexpectedly in school and life.

An interesting and intriguing love story
A touching story that spans two generations, Caselda Ann Cassel's novel: The Known Stranger tells of unrequited love. The characters are well fleshed out and come across as real everyday people. The subplots are an added bonus and make the book a fast paced and satisfying read.

A tale of immortal love
An interesting and intriguing love story, that tells of human fallibilities and frailties-of rage, jealousy, avarice and pride. The author touches the heart with her simple recounting of a tale of immortal love.

Truly a novel that is impossible to put down.
I would highly recommend Caselda Ann Cassel's: The Known stranger. It is a love story that is rife with surprising twists and turns that keeps the reader guessing until the last page.

Good advice for kids
ON THE HOMEFRONT is a book about all different kinds of families. It talks about two-parent families, one-parent families, families with adopted children, families with no children, and families with foster children.
This book talks about improving communication with your family and gives 8 things every family needs. Read the book for find out what they are!
Since I'm a middle child, I liked the chapter about the difference your birth order makes. I also liked that the author put questions at the end of each chapter. Answer the questions makes you think about what you read so you really learn the lesson it's trying to teach you. I also thought it was cool the way there was a fictional story at the beginning of each chapter. The stories get you in the mood for what you're going to read.

Good for all families
This author writes about all kinds of families from the perspective of an adoptive, biological, step, and foster mom. She gives practical advice on sibling relationships, communication skills, and surviving in any kind of family. I encourage all families with preteens or early teens to sit down and read this book together.

Good for Nontraditional Families
This book is very helpful for youth from adoptive, single parent, foster, and step families. Families don't have to consist of two parents and two children to have a happy, successful home. Youth from any kind of home can learn skills such as communicating, solving conflicts, and fighting fairly, that will help them better cope in any relationship.

Big Fisherman

It is a fascinating read!
A friend recommended this book to me and I thought I'd read it over Easter weekend. It is a well-written book but it was also slightly disappointing because it wasn't as well thought-out as I had hoped. This book was barely about Peter the disciple ~~ it was more on the feud between Israel and Arabia. Fara's mother was married to Antipas, one of the leaders of Galilee only he treated her poorly. She comes home to raise their daughter, Fara, and when she died, Fara promised revenge on her father. She travels to Galilee ~~ and meets John the Baptist and Jesus and Peter ~~ and her life changed. However, Voldi, the man she loves, came to find her and to extact the revenge.

Only very little did it talked about Peter and the disciples ~~ and I was rather disappointed since I was hoping for more insights in the religious men that started a new religion that has transformed the world. It was a very fascinating book ~~ don't get me wrong, just not what I expected it to be.

If you are looking for a good read with a historical theme ~~ this book is it. If you are looking for a book that has more of a biological overtone to it ~~ this book is not it. It is a good read ~~ and will leave you satisfied.

Loved it!!
This book is an historical novel based on the life and death of Christ and the start of the Christian movement. I am not a Christian but I still loved this book. It is as moving as watching a film like Ben Hur. This book would definately re-affirm a borderline Christian's faith.

Big Fisherman is a keeper!
This book is first-class. This book is similar to "The Robe." It has every element of a great work- romance, adventure, history, and depth. Don't throw this one back!

It's got some new stuff
Definitely takes a different direction from Vol 5. More emphasis on the the scene, the lot, other "jambands", and folks in the fan community, and less emphasis on information about the band, their shows, and their music. Maybe Vol 7 will complete the transition and the PA can become what it began as, an exponent of fans rather than a focus on Phish.

helping friendly almanac
Forget every other book about phish. This is the only one you'll ever need. This book has everthing you could ever want to know about them and is a great reference tool if you have a large tape or mp3 collection. There are enough statistics, stories, reviews and setlists in here to keep any phan busy for months. If you just can't get enough phish, you need to have this book.

Underground-style printing makes this book special
It's no secret in the Phish world that the authors of the Almanac crafted this book without any help from publishers, agents, or reps, and put out the single most informative book in the Phish community. Everything you could imagine and more is in this book, and it's homegrown feel will make everyone feel like part of the team

Very Technical
This is a very encyclopedia-type of book. It has a lot of information about different eye problems and is a great book describing the functions of the different parts of the eye and what goes on at visits to the eye doctor. But it doesn't give alot of information on saving your sight, taking care of your eyes, remedies for problems or anything like that. The book claims to be "The Owner's Manual for your Eyes" but I don't think this to be very accurate. Its from 1998, but doesn't even include alot about laser surgery.

A good layman's guide for general eye information
The book is a good layman's guide to understanding the eye and the most common types of eye problems. However, the subtitle, A complete guide to eye disorders, is somewhat misleading. Many eye disorders are not covered. Only major disorders such as cataracts, glaucoma, ARMD, and diabetic retinopathy are discussed in detail. Otherwise, some other disorders are described at a high level in a few paragraphs.

A Great Book
The Eye Book by Gary Cassel is extremely well-organized and easy to read. Anyone wanting to know how their amazing eyes work should read this book. It also conveys basic information about many eye diseases.

perennial paradise
In many climates around the world, forest is the natural state of vegetation. It grows without anyone's say-so. It takes no human effort at all for nature to be sustainable, diverse, productive, multi-dimensional, and beautiful. However, most people's gardens, even food gardens, are really none of these, despite large amounts of effort on the part of the gardeners. So what would it be like to garden in tune with nature, to grow a forest garden, with many of the features of a natural forest, and little of the labour usually involved in gardening? Robert Hart pioneered this approach to growing food sustainably, based on his long experience of agro-forestry around the world. He applied his wisdom to his backyard and wrote about it in the classics, 'Forest Gardening' and 'Beyond the Forest Garden'. However, much of what Hart wrote was general and philosophical - explaining the 'why' perhaps more than the 'how'. Patrick Whitefield has produced this intensely practical guide to the 'how' of forest gardening, starting from first principles and including all manner of precise details. Whitefield is an experienced permaculture practicioner and teacher, and he rightly places the forest garden in context as a very useful component of a larger system of sustainable living. On the strength of this book I am in the process of transforming my standard suburban plot into a beautiful forest garden, with apples, pears, cherries, raspberries, loganberries, figs, redcurrants, perennial herbs and salads. It has proved to be an invaluable and much thumbed manual, and an inspirational work. It is directly applicable to temperate climates, and will be of use to those living elsewhere too.

A waste of paper => trees!
I really didn't like it. I'm a newbie & I didn't find key concepts or advices for planning or installing NT (unleashed?!), but things I could see by myself. Sorry.

Great for workstation helpdesk staff who need a reference
This book was helpful to me in providing support to our end users while upgrading our department to windows NT workgroups 4.0 (from win 98). This book would be best for someone already familiar with windows (win 95 or 98) and now needs workstation. Chapters are divided into readible text for theory and background and then sections with step by step instructions for configuring various aspects of the OS. There is a good balance between theory and very practicle information. This book will probably not be very helpful to a very experienced network engineer. It is also a little out of date, we used service pack 6 and it was not included.

Great book for intermediate computer users
This book will not boar you with introductory lessons on how to use wordpad and other utilities you learned with Windows 95. This book jumps right in and explains how the architecture of NT differs from windows. Very readable
