If you're looking for great Campbell stuff, look elsewhere
I love Joseph Campbell, but these tapes are more about the interviewer, Michael Toms. I was really disappointed at the questions he asked and the way the whole thing seemed to be edited together.

Look for the tapes of Campbell's lectures instead!

Mythology and the Modern World
This is a fun book to go through and listen to. It tells about how mythology effects us today and how it's evolving for the future. Michael Toms's voice bears a stricking resemblance to Bill Moyer, who made an excellent series called the Power of Myth. a decent primer
Tom Campbell is Professor of Law at The Australian National University. Contents include

What is Justice? * What is Just? * Justice as Entitlement: Nozick and Property * Justice as Rights: Dworkin and Minorities * Justice as Contract: Rawls and Welfare * Justice as Efficiency: Posner and Criminal Justice * Justice as Desert: Sadurski and Remuneration * Justice as Critique: Marx and Exploitation * Justice as Empowerment: Young and Affirmative Action * Justice as Democracy: Habermas and the Promise of Politics * Justice in Eclipse

Political theorists agree that justice is a fundamental political value but disagree profoundly about its proper analysis and philosophical justification. This substantially revised and updated second edition of Tom Campbell's highly acclaimed and widely used text provides a much-expanded overview of the nature and scope of justice, as well as presenting clear exposition and critiques of the principal contending theorists of most relevance to the contemporary world.

At least it's got a catchy title. . .
This book is written as a refutation of the teachings of Joseph Campbell, a "New Age philosopher." I was at a disadvantage when reading the book, for until this point I had never heard of Joseph Campbell, so frequently I found myself wondering what the author was talking about.

The book talks a lot about popular culture and the New Age influence upon it. It is definitely not "light reading." There's a lot of deep philosophy there. If you're into that type of thing, I'd recommend it.

Probably the thing about the book I found the MOST fascinating, was it's logical proof for the existence of the Trinity. (You'll have to read the book for yourself!) It's something I'd never thought of, but makes perfect sense, and it's Biblical too!

Solid research, not inspired
There is little to outright complain about in this book; the love of the lore is evident, and the research, while not earthshattering, does not appear to be faulty. There is a decidedly amateurish tint to the writing, but Erinphiles will enjoy it, no doubt.
