Excitingly Interesting
This book is for any one interested in the wonders of life. Every time you open the book and browse through the pages you can learn something new and interesting. To make it even more interesting are the colorful pictures of the diverse marine life. To anyone who has an interest in biology this is a must have!!

Excellent book
This book is an in-depth look at the shark. It is basic enough for most people to understand. The photographs are wonderful.

Intro to the Mind-Body Problem
I was required to read Body and Mind for my undergraduate cognitive science class. This book presents a very good, but sometimes dated, introduction to the classical mind-body problem of philosophy. It outlines the paradox of mind-body reasoning and goes over most of the potential solutions. His conclusion at the end is probably a bit presumptuous and unreasonable (he favors epiphenomenalism), but his critical discussion of the various theories is very good. I would very highly recommend this book for an introduction to the mind-body problem.

Dead but Dreaming
Published in Paperback by DT Pubs (1902)
Authors: Kevin Ross, Ramsey Campbell, and Keith Herber
Amazon base price: $17.99
Average review score:

The single-best Cthulhu/Lovecraft anthology in a long time
Dead but Dreaming is the finest Lovecraftian/Cthulhu Mythos anthology to see print in a very, very long time (in a strange aeon, if I may...!). Writing in this often-muddled genre gets no better than this. You won't find a lot of "names" herein, but don't let that stop you from buying and reading this amazing tome. Editor Ross set out to collect stories that paid homage to Lovecraft without being trite slaves to his style. This IS, indeed, a collection of Lovecraftian horror, NOT a jumble of pastiches and old-formula Cthulhu Mythos tales. No, this is fresh and enjoyable, with more than a few surprises in store for the reader. Of the fifteen tales presented, there were but a few that didn't "grab" me, and only one that I can actually say I disliked. The majority here are keepers, for sure. As an author, editor, and small press publisher, myself, I have to admit to jealousy on my part: I wish I had been responsible for this book! If you are a fan of H.P. Lovecraft and his Cthulhu Mythos treat yoruself to something very special and buy this book!

Creative and refreshing
I have four younger brothers who are always asking me for creative dates that don't cost much. After coming up with maybe three or four ideas, I found it hard to make suggestions that would help them out. I was suprised how many good ideas for creative dates this book had. It was a gem of a find in the bookstore. My first thought was how much I wished I had a book like this when I was still single. However, after reading several of the entries, I found it a great resource for fun and creative activities with my wife without blowing a ton of cash.

GOOD STARTER IDEAS FOR AN INEXPENSIVE DATE
I think Blair Tolman's book, Dating for under a Dollar, was a great "starter kit" for people who want to have a fun date without breaking the bank. It's full of all kinds of helpful ideas (some better than others) to get someone thinking about how to plan a cheap, fun date--something that's pretty tough to pull off nowadays.

An awesome book full of FUN ideas!!!
After reading this book I was pumped up to go get the girls!! It may sound childish at first but after trying it I had a whole lot more fun than I expected!! I recomend this book for all dating ages! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TOLMANS!!!!!

silly, patronizing, hardly qualifies as journalism...
I was eager to see what Wilmut thought about cloning after reading his excellent essay in the best-selling anthology The Human Cloning Debate. But I was stunned when I read this book. Unlike the other work, this book comes across as silly, even patronizing. The book reads as though Wilmut is attempting to capitalize on Dolly, rather than as a thoughtful reflection on veterinary biology or genetics or human families. It is also very boring, even with the ghostwriter! Save your money; this expensive vehicle is not the best or the most interesting of the crop of cloned cloning books.

Insightful!
Science is breeding new technologies at an unprecedented rate, and with the birth of each advancement comes a new generation of ethical concerns. Few developments have rattled the world's moral cage more than cloning, and it behooves any professional to have a working knowledge of the foundations of the current debates surrounding the genetic sciences. Of course, understanding how Dolly the Lamb was cloned from an adult sheep is probably beyond the grasp of most readers. But authors Ian Wilmut, Keith Campbell (the two leaders of the cloning team) and Colin Tudge (an experienced science writer) examine every inch of scientific ground the project covered. While many details are presented densely, this clearly written, first-person account of a momentous, history-making event is fascinating, particularly for readers of a scientific bent. We [...] recommend this book to any and all readers as a basic education in a field that has the potential to impact all of our businesses and our lives. Hello, Dolly.

The Best Book on Cloning
Ian Wilmut and Keith Cambell are the creators of Dolly the cloned sheep. They are also two of the three authors of this book. The book is all about how the historic event of cloning a mammal for the first time in history came about. It is wonderful reading and contains some great scientific insights. The only problem is that these two scientists have not embraced human cloning and all the good that it can do. It seems as if they stepped out of scientific mode and were forced to be against human cloning to keep their funding, placate their religions, and not become pariahs to the religious right. Great book. I highly recommend it for the fascinating story of cloning.

Second Creation: The Age of Biological Control by the Scientists Who Cloned Dolly
Published in Hardcover by Headline Book Pub Ltd (2000)
Authors: Ira Wilmut, Keith Campbell, and Colin Tudge
Amazon base price: $18.99
Average review score:

Very Entertaining (a little short in Science)
This a book that talks about cloning (though I think you knew that already), what I did not liked is that this book is plagued with descriptions about the physical appearance of the authors, their families, the places they come from, their personalities, etc. Don't get me wrong, I admire this couple of investigators, what they did is a landmark in biological science, but I expected more science and less digresion. The scientific part of the book is interesting, you don't need to be an expert to understand the principles of cloning in this writing style. The rest of it is bearable. I recommend this book even though I disliked so many non relevant facts.

Very Informative
"Why Do Cats Do That" is an informative book. It tells why cats do the things they do! For instance, why their eyes glow, why they purr, why the flop down on their sides when they are happy...and so on. However, this book is a bit on the dull side, and not one to really get into.

uninspirational celebration
scymanski has an ok story here. price has a good one about the gorgon. that one was very enjoyable, and had some lovely details. otherwise, this was dreary read. so many of these stories were not only badly invented, but seemed so uninspired to. i almost felt sorry for the writers, for making so bad stories. i think this is chaosium's worst.
