"Blue Flowers" = Life, Love & Beauty
An enchanted story which affirms beauty and life.
Though the story carries a brilliant message of hope for us all, if we can affirm our connection with the earth, it is the lovely illustrations that bring home this heart-felt promise.
On almost every page of this classic tale the artist has embellished the authors words with delightful and imaginative representations of the story.
For a timeless message of hope treat your children and yourself to this book.

Excellent little novel
For children, this is a superb read. Rest assured, though, it gets better with age. As my all-time favorite book, I even bought a special-edition hardcover to pass on to my own little girl. 'The Secret Garden' is a delightful story that can be interpreted on a variety of levels, from a beautiful little story to an intensely moving classic, and each time it is read a new Truth can be derived. I highly recommend 'The Secret Garden' to both children and adults, preferably read from childhood into adulthood.
As an aside, unfortunately the movie version of 'The Secret Garden' is no match for the book. It presents a trite and overacted children's piece that isn't suitable for idiots. I wouldn't subject my child to it.

A literature that the none-literature readers will love.
It's amazing for me to read a book in tree days and want to read it again.I'm a Chinese, but I just can't resist the story line printed on the cover, and I bought a English version.I thought I can read it slowly and prectice my English, but I finished in only three days.
Three person who can't love and got together in a great house.Mary,Collin, and Mr.Craven was teached what love is and how to love others by theyselves and by a magical natual-love boy,Dickon. And finally the great house bathed in terror came bake to the arm of the love.
I can't write too much about this book. The ending will make you laugh with happiness and make you cry moved by the ending.
You really should not only read it,but also own one.

A Great Musical
This is a GREAT musical with excellent music. It tells the story of Mary Lennox, who is sent to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, after the deaths of her parents. The book and lyrics are by Marsha Norman, based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett. An wonderful broadway musical to definitely take a look at!
Breathtaking
This has been one of my favorite musicals since when I first sw it in 1991. It tells the classic story of the beloved novel by the same name. The music is lovely and the whole thing has a mysterious air to it, something never really done in a Secret Garden movie or musical before. I like it. All the lyrics are wonderful and the songs have a wonderful tune too. It is neat to be able to read all the lyrics and all the spoken words. The original cast recording of this musical has some of the spoken words, but not near all of them. It is a nice way to re-live the experience. I highly reccomend this book. If you like this book, you may also like the original novel "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett and the original cast recording of the musical itself.

A Classic Story!
I have an original 1888 copy of this book, and did research on Elsie Leslie, the original 1888 Broadway star of the play(she was only 7!). This book will delite anyone, young or old. It shows the humanity of a man that really regretted being a thief. A great story, with wonderful morals (something usually not seen or taught these days). THIS IS A MUST READ!

Award winning, profusely illustrated biography of scandalous
Written for young people. grades 4-8, this is an interesting biography for Frances Hodgson Burnett fans of all ages. She was the Danielle Steel of her day, crossing the Atlantic 33 times. Her comings, goings, and divorces made front-page news in The New York Times and in other newspapers. This biography, which School Lihrary Journal says "reads like a good novel," offers many quotations from Frances and her friends, plus photos and illustrations from her books and plays. Gorgeous and informative book!
For anyone who wants to learn more about "The Secret Garden" and its author--where the original garden really was, how an English robin differs from an American robin, how to make a nesting station for birds in your garden, what "oatcakes" and "doughcakes" are and how to make them (along with other recipes from the book), how to plant a miniature secret garden, how to make a windchime from keys like the one that unlocked the Secret Garden, and lots more! Wonderful gift. Tasha Tudor illustrations.

A book you simply cannot put down.
When Mary Lenox (a spoilt, selfish and lazy child) is sent to live her uncle (an ugly hunchback) at an english country side, she finds herself exploring the gardens of her uncles great big house till one day she finds a key to a locked up garden which was used by her aunt who died. Follow the two classics A Little Princess and the Secret Garden- two stories about two orphans who have their lives turned upside down and find that it is not always easy to accept this way.
A classic, a favourite and a book you simply cannot put down.

The dolls are at play while you sleep
How many of us have awakened to find that our dolls were NOT where we left them the night before? A wonderful read aloud that piques the imagination and prompts great kid discussions of what exactly they DO all night(you are playing with them in the daytime!) Timeless.

Sara Crewe: or what happened to Miss Minchin
Excellent reading for children Story helps to build personal morals and shows life in early England. Will appeal to little girls who of course always daydream to be "little princesses",as the reworking of this book in later years is by that title. Another great work by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

The book came to me in a strange, "Heaven-directed" way, during a time of immense grief over the death of a relative. I was ripe for its insightful messages that, "If you fill your mind with a beautiful thought, there will be no room for an ugly one"; and "There is no time for anger..." I have always been bolstered by this particular edition, so gracefully illustrated by Judith Ann Griffith, and over the years have gifted a few special souls, adults and children alike, with copies of this delightful book.
The "blue flowers" at the heart of the story have gradually become a sort of shorthand-code between me and cherished friends/relatives; and on special occasions, we sometimes exchange "blue flowers" as a colorful reminder of truths taught in Frances Hodgson Burnett's tale. The "blue-flower code" is simple and speaks directly to the heart, saying, "We choose love, life, and joy over fear, bitterness, and grudges." (Given current global upheavals and conflicts, maybe certain folks in High Places would do well to read this little book and internalize its simple truths.)
_The Land of the Blue Flower_ is very enthusiastically recommended for hearts of all ages, and Kramer's gorgeous edition is sure to become a family favorite.
