Recent Patient
I am quite thankful for this book and its many valuable tips. I recently had liposuction and feel that had I not reviewed some of the information for recovery, I might have been in greater discomfort. You don't really understand what it will be like until you become a patient, but I can tell that the author is a patient as she is extremely thorough with her realistic and helpful explanations. I highly recommend this book.

A great book for anyone who is considering cosmetic surgery
With all of the hype about cosmetic surgery I have found it very difficult to get impartial and informative assistance on selecting a physician who best meets my needs. I had also never considered the importance of selecting an accredited surgical facility-but as I researched the horror stories and read the book, I realized this decision can be as important as selecting the right physician. The detailed information on what to expect before and after surgery was very helpful. A must read if you are considering cosmetic surgery!

The best of several available
We bought several review resources. Peterson's was the best. It offers extensive guidance about preparing for the test and had lots of hints for success in taking it.

Its practice questions were right on in level of difficulty. Questions in other resources were too easy or too hard. Several only provided limited practice questions.

Our daughter scored in the 99th percentile. While we think she would have done well anyway, the Peterson materials boosted her score a good deal, we are convinced.

A GREAT BOOK TO HELP YOU ACE THE TESTS!!
I think this book is a great way to prepare for the SSAT and ISEE. It provides lots of great information on the test and it gives you tips on how you can do better on the test. I had to take the SSAT and I don't know how I would've done so good if I hadn't read this book. You should check it out!! It's really worth it!!

Another great book of Tim Graham photos
If you collect books on British Royalty, this book is a must-have. Not only does it record the life of a lady who personifies dignaty and duty, but it's sections are divided into sections of interest rather than a boring chronology. However, I bought it for two reasons: 1) I don't have books on the Queen and this is a great collection of her history 2) I LOVE Tim Graham's photography! I have collected many of his books on the royal family, particularly his photographs of Diana. The trust the royal family has given him shows in his work. The photos are real, but they're not "fake" or demeaning. Even non-royalty fans should own this book as a piece of history.

Horrible! Nothing like the real test!
I studied out of 7 different preparation books, and this one, by far is the worst one! The questions in this book are really difficult, tricky and unlike the CLEP exam! The questions in the actual CLEP exam arent tricky like the SAT or GRE, they are straightforward. For some reason, Peterson's has decided to put in SAT-like questions on their practice exam. This book should be thrown out of the market because its NOTHING like the real exams! I would recommend Princeton Review's Cracking the CLEP, and Review for Clep Examination by Comex Systems. The REA also writes really accurate practice exams. If you are taking English, I also recommend you purchase "The Writer's Reference" by Diana Hacker. That was probably the most helpful book in brushing up on your English.

CLEP
I found the practice exercises in this book to be very helpful, and I did really well when I took the CLEP afterwards.

Just like all other Petersons books... excellent quality....
Looking to maximize my ability on the CLEP tests to avoid taking numerous classes that I have no interest in. If you'd like to get practice on these tests, than this book may help.

It's not worth it. Spend your money on other things.
Let me tell you, first and foremost, I did not buy this book, somebody bought it for me. On the cover of the book it says 5 full length practice tests. Out of those only three are CAT's. The other two are paper based. I had a lot of trouble with the software. I installed it on my computer and a menu came up with three items. ONLINE GRE CAT, ACCESS ADVISOR and ONLINE PETERSON'S. Anyone looking at this will figure that the first is a shortcut to taking it on the web, right? Wrong. The only one that works is ACCESS ADVISOR, which gives you a lot of information about financial aid. But what good is all that if you don't do well on the GRE and therefore cannot get in to the university of your choice? When I finally managed to get to the correct website, and login to take the test, this is what I found. It is NOTHING like the GRE CAT, with one exception which is - each test has 93 questions. First and foremost, the tests are not timed, it tells you to take all the time that you like. Which is pretty stupid because time is the worst enemy on the test for a lot of test-takers. The questions are not presented in a coherent order. Each section is distinguished from the other, but within the sections itself the questions are thrown together randomly. There is a lot of repetition from one test to the next, even though I was assured by the technical staff that, that just isn't possible. This is an extract from a reply I got from one of the staff members-

"The algorithm will not select the same question twice because it has been set not to do so. Even if the same essay is presented, a slight difference in nuance in the question still makes the test practicable, because ignoring the nuance will affect the correct answer and therefore the level at which is the next question is drawn from the database. The algorithm has been strenuously tested, so that confidence is there that it will produce what it was designed to produce, viz., an adaptive test that will test how well a question is interpreted by the test-taker in order to apply the relevant principles to produce a correct answer."

This answer is a great one, but it just isn't true. I took the third test(I have had a major problem with the second one) and 90% of the questions were identical. I did it with my eyes closed and the results below will show you what I mean. On the first test, I got VERBAL-746, QUANTITATIVE-800 and ANALYTICAL-750. On the third test I got VERBAL-800, QUANTITATIVE-800, ANALYTICAL-800. I am good, but not that good. My actual score is somewhere around the 1900-2000 range. On top of that, there is no way you can review the questions and answers to see where you went wrong. Not that I need to, especially with the third test. ALL OF THE QUESTIONS IN THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST ARE REPEATED ON ALL OF THE CAT's. My problems lie in the Analytical section. I just can't get my head around those questions. Therefore, I skipped the other sections and headed straight for the aforementioned. You guessed it, I was extremely disappointed. There are "11 pages, that's right, ELEVEN" alloted to the analytical part of the test. 238 pages are devoted to Quantitative and Verbal (combined, not 238 pages each), but you get barely anything for a section you should be able to get 800 on if you pratice enough and the strategies that you pick up from books like these are good. The only helpful feature is the support staff, who get back to you promptly. The verbal and the quantitative section (strategies, examples, solutions and explanations) are comprehensive, but the entire package is not worth it. Spend your money on Kaplan or ETS Powerprep. I am going to ask for my money back for this one, if I can.

Book was OK, software was not
This book was useful, but the software was a disappointment. the sofware was not very similar to the actual GRE test.

A Useless Book
This book had an insane number of errors, including incorrect formulae, incomplete questions and inconsistent answers. Not only that, but the "Practice Tests" were not anything like a true sample MCAT would be. Many questions tested irrelevant detail that would never be tested in this form on a real MCAT (e.g. "A midsagittal section will divide the body into: A. equal superior and inferior portions. B. equal lateral portions. C. equal anterior and posterior portions. D. unequal lateral portions.") Some of the Verbal Reasoning passages were on science topics--the true MCAT would never have science topics in that section. And even the writing prompts for the Writing Sample section are wrong! This book was a total waste of my money.

A horrible book
I found this book to be quite useless. It was poorly written and filled with editorial errors. Furthermore, the supposed "sample MCATs" did not at all resemble the actual test. Oftentimes, the science passages in the book were little more than a paragraph. In addition, the book stressed unimportant trivia while overlooking vital concepts.

inaccurate representation of the real mcat
the book doesn't even have organic chem questions! so biological sciences were just biology!!! and obscure biology w/ alot of terminology that you'll never need for the mcat! the science passages are far from the real mcat...everything is too easy!
