Very good Introduction to Intranet Concept
I found this book very easy to read, and completely understandable, its emphasis on the "User Point of View" is remarkable, it is well structured and concrete; the section: "Bottom line" at the end of every chapter is very helpful. The cons is that it touches very briefly technical aspects of the Intranet.
A great guide reference guide, worthy of multiple readings
Thanks to this book, I finally appreciate some of the differences between the Internet and an intranet in terms of corporate communications policies, screen design, infrastructure, project management and security requirements. As a layman, the technical glossary has been helpful to me in my current job and projects and I refer to it several times a week. Good insight on the people side (politics, etc.) of corporate intranet projects. My thanks to the authors.
A hard to please engineer
Excellent! Finally a useful (and enjoyable) text on intranet style that is clear and packed with required information on making a killer intranet from scratch. In my field, I deal with professionals that have all sorts of cyber experience, and using The Elements of Intranet Style I can speak intranet to the expert as well as the novice. Big pluses include the "Must know's and Must no's" section that warns of copyright pitfalls and security issues headaches. Overall this book is an excellent, low cost bible dedicated to the rapidly growing intranet. A must!

DO NOT BUY
I buy this book to help learn .NET to take MicroSoft tests. Did not know book is writen for beta .NET. I did not pass test since I learned from wrong version.
DO NOT BUY. Is old and no help.
Too focused on a particular solution
Forget this book, unless you application the same as theirs.
Good overview
This book provides an exellence big picture of .NET in developing an e-commerce website. It will definitely save you a lot of time in developing a website. It does not provide in detail on how do you implement it though. You would need specific books on asp.net and on VB.net or C# to complement it.

Horrible! Nothing like the real test!
I studied out of 7 different preparation books, and this one, by far is the worst one! The questions in this book are really difficult, tricky and unlike the CLEP exam! The questions in the actual CLEP exam arent tricky like the SAT or GRE, they are straightforward. For some reason, Peterson's has decided to put in SAT-like questions on their practice exam. This book should be thrown out of the market because its NOTHING like the real exams! I would recommend Princeton Review's Cracking the CLEP, and Review for Clep Examination by Comex Systems. The REA also writes really accurate practice exams. If you are taking English, I also recommend you purchase "The Writer's Reference" by Diana Hacker. That was probably the most helpful book in brushing up on your English.
CLEP
I found the practice exercises in this book to be very helpful, and I did really well when I took the CLEP afterwards.
Just like all other Petersons books... excellent quality....
Looking to maximize my ability on the CLEP tests to avoid taking numerous classes that I have no interest in. If you'd like to get practice on these tests, than this book may help.

Colors of the Sea Review
This book probably isn't as bad as I rank it--I was simply expecting something different than what I got. This book's focus is on colors of marine ANIMALS...it has nothing to do with basic reef/tropical photography.
As far as the pictures in the book are concerned, there are many very beautiful ones throughout. However, unless you are highly interested in close-ups of starfish, seahorses, and shrimp, I don't recommend this book. If you ARE interested in these things, then this book is a real value--like I already mentioned, the pictures are very high quality and, well, colorful.
