The year is 2025 and a Government Plage is let loose that kills Yuppies, well some turn into human flesh eating Zombies. They continue their lives driving their BMW's and of course having Yuppie dinner parties. They are now called Yombies.

The Bubbas aren't infected and it's because of their preference for pork rinds, twinkies, spam, cheap Bar-b-Q sauce with meat cooked outdoors and of course cheap beer. No fancy foreign beer or cheese for these guys and gals just the real stuff.

Hillarious moments and some that are just downright funny if y'all have any bubba bones in your body. A few that have a higher gross factor.

To have taken on the task of outlining the basics of the story and then hand it out to various author to put their own twisted Bubba minds to work. Selina Rosen should be give a big hand, Yombie of course.

You cannot read this book without laughing. The world has come to an end, and the only folks left to look after it are not necessarily the folks who care. Meet Bubbas with an itch to plug aliens. Zombies with a taste for human flesh. A wild and crazy riot of a time.
Definately a cult classic of a collection.

Actually, there should be a four and a half star rating available. The poem didn't work for me and one or two stories just missed being gems. The reader needs to be warned that the humor in this book is not tea-sippin'-dainty-pinky-in-the-air smile but gut laughs about bodily functions and outrageous points of view. The basic premise of the collection is that a plague virus, Yuppie 25, has killed or made zombies of everyone except Bubbas (who were immune because of their frequent ingestion of a generic barbeque sauce). More fun than an SUV full of yuppie zombies.

This highly rated manual, covers just about every practical and tangible theoretical introduction to the full design and/up to implementation cycle of MH projects, all in about 370 pages. It is important that it was written and amply illustrated not only with detailed schematics, but also with actual pictures from original installations in developing countries, which makes a viable aid in comprehending the "actual picture". The chapters covered detail a syllabus in: Components and Design of an MH Scheme, Cost benefit estimations, Hydrology and site survey, Flow prediction, Civil works and operational parts (all aspects from Weirs to Penstocks), Commercial engineering, Turbines (including reverse pumps), Governing, Drive systems, a very thorough presentation of the -cumbersome- Electrical Power System aspects, along with Operational, Maintenance, Financial and Commissioning aspects. Should there be something more for an engineer to wish for, would be more info on turbines -something you would expect to find in a specialized book on the subject anyway. The book should provide a valuable asset not only to MH engineers, but to Renewable Energy Technology engineers as well, since it is progressively becoming apparent that a combination of RET along with Pumped Storage and MH, presents a highly attractive opportunity for both developed and developing countries

The insight given in this book is, without a doubt, beneficial not just to mankind, but also and especially developing countries. I highly recommend.

This book describes all the aspects involved in gettting a micro hydro plant running. It has the right blend of "The birds eye view" on the subject, very useful to people, new to the subject as well as "earth worm view": You can use this use this book as a guide to select the right kind of drive pulley for you plant.

This is an excellent book for pediatric residents and medical students in pediatric rotations. The book is organized by symptom e.g. abdominal pain, chronic cough, and it provides a comprehensive list of differential diagnosis, flow charts for diagnosis, as well as short discussions on most common diseases associated with that particular symptom. A must for pediatric rounds.

To view the Minneapolis Institute of Arts current exhibit, "A Japanese Legacy: Four Generations of Yoshida Family Artists," is like entering into 100 years of modernization in Japanese art history. The catalogue for the exhibit, being sold here, conveys the same sense. What we see is not artists who repeat traditional cultural forms in spite of Japan's modernization. But just the opposite, members of a single family who step confidently into Japan's future, using their artistic genius to bring the modern world into Japan and Japanese sense of beauty to the rest of world. What an astonishing exchange and transformation takes place from one generation to the next. Maybe art history itself is on display in an exhibition like this. In any case this is a really interesting read.

While some of the ideas discussed in this book are no longer in vogue, this book is so cleverly written and insightful that it would hardly be to exaggerate by saying that it ought to be required reading. The 13 page introduction alone is worth the $27 dollar asking price.

If there is a series of books out there that will make you feel like you are actually in it, then its the Flight of The Old Dog series. This debuet book for Dale Brown is by far the greatest story I've ever read. It will keep on the edge of your seat the whole time. not one slow section in the book. In the wake of the World Trade Center terrorist attack, it makes me wonder what the Old Dog crew would do. If the were real of course!

This is Brown's debut novel, and to truly "dig" his others, you should read this one first. It's got an action filled, ambitious plot, even if some of the technology seems a little far-fetched. But who knows? Maybe the USAF has something like the Old Dog EB-52 in Area 51. The story kind of lost a bit of the suspense when the endpaper map clearly shows the Old Dog landing in Alaska at the end of the mission, but still you can truly get into the story after maybe a dozen pages or so. Flight of the Old Dog definetly hooked me onto Dale Brown novels. Bravo to Brown

I have read this book a number of times, Dale Brown's technical know-how and imagination kept me on the edge. I was actually sorry that I had finished it. I recommend it to anyone. The characters, the scenarios, the timing, is all spot on. I will keep reading his books as long as he keeps writing them.

An eminately scientific book. Uses phenomenological and imaginally accurate approaches to its topic, and offers rarely quoted material from psychoanalysis which will provoke irritated responses from those supporting the "accepted canon" of psychoanalytic literature. Little known (though accurate) citations of Freud and Jung broaden the discussion of psychology to include environment, to the chagrin of the traditional psychoanalytic establishment which gives little value to environmental influences on psychological health. Views presented here describe how an empathic relation with the environment is being dumbly, and politically, grandstanded as a regression to "the noble savage". Contrary to this "regressive" view the authors offer a vision in which person and environment are mutually effected. The book will prove its value with its revolutionary conceptual vision, and its practical application of ideas.

This is a highly informative book. It tells about people's different points of view on the highly volatile and up-and-coming field of ecopsychology. This book is a great source of information and knowledge of the field as well as it's a pretty easy read. I used this book as a jumping off point for research for my undergraduate thesis. If you are interested in environmental issues and psychology, read this book.

Assembled here are some of the leading lights of ecopsychology, with papers and excerpts from the books they've written: Roszak himself, Aizenstat, Hillman, Gomes, Glendinning, and on and on. A rare collection of important voices.

The idea of ecopsychology is to open up awareness to the unheard voice of the Earth. "Animism" is a 19th century assumption that assumes the world lives only to the degree we project into it. The authors here realize that animism is a reductionistic and outdated concept that only serves to justify the ongoing rape and dematerialization of the natural world--a world that in fact projects her presence into those of us who can learn to hear her.

This is not a back-to-nature project but a necessity if we are to preserve what's left of the Earth from our greed, haste, and the global warming of the psyche endemic to a society of rapacious and immature consumers too bent on private advantage to do what our ancestors did for a million years of history and prehistory: recognize and respect her personhood. And today, we can do so with all our critical faculties intact and a bit of help from green technics.

This is a well written book which looks at an interesting period in English history which is for the most part skimmed over by novellists (where most of us get our history) in favour of later more "interesting" periods. It is a great introduction to the topic, and is a worthy addition to the library of anyone who is interested in the period.

I was so enthralled with the sermons written by this female minister, that I could not put the book down! I read 70 pages the first sitting, when I had intended to read only the first two sermons. This is a collection of sermons that is divided into two major categories: the first deals with the problems of pain, tribulations and suffering while we are yet alive and struggling with our spiritual journeys, the second is dealing with the pain of loss by relating it to God's pain in allowing His Only Son to choose to die for us. For anyone who wishes to learn how to make every word count, this is an excellent resource. Human suffering is often one of the hardest issues to address with congregations. This resource can definitely start you on the right foot.

She goes where few preachers or theologians dare, and never, ever leaves the reader without plenty to think about. Of all her books, this one is the least satisfying in some ways because of what seem to me to be some inconsistencies on key points. Maybe that's to be expected given the subject matter. What she succeeds beautifully in doing is revealing how shallow and inadequate most Christian thinking is on the subject of the passion and death of Jesus. No pat answers from BBT, ever. Good for her, and good for those who read her and are prompted to go deeper into what Good Friday means.

This book is based on incorrect solutions for a problem that no longer exists. According to the 1999 NAEP results, the math "gender gap" has been eliminated at all grade levels. In addition, according to the National Science Foundation, female students are currently more likely than male students to take advanced mathematics courses in high school. As a result, the problem this book claims to address - that girls "fall behind" boys - is no longer relevant.

Even if the gender gap in mathematics did exist, the solutions proposed in this book create more problems than they solve. In particular, by advocating the use of literature that does not include a positive portrayal of boys, this book emphasizes that reading is a "girls-only" activity. The authors do not include suggestions for creating a positive learning climate for boys. They also do not devote sufficient attention to eliminating the much larger gender gaps in reading and writing where boys trail girls. It is perhaps not a coincidence that since the publication of this book, the reading gender gap has nearly doubled.

In summary, this book attempts to provide solutions for a problem that does not exist. This in and of itself would not be so terrible if the proposed solutions did not have such a negative impact on the real gender gaps in education.

These four authors are really on to something which needs to be considered by not only educators , but parents of girls who more and more need to be strengthened in their abilities to compete in the fast-moving technical, mathematical and scientific world of the future. Their precepts are very sound.
