clinical mechanics of the hand
this is a great book for anyone wanting to learn the complicated structure and mechanics of the hand. I use it as a bible when making splints and to understand the mechanical changes that occur in the hand after injury. It is a great resource for hand surgeons, therapists and anyone preparing to take the CHT exam. The pictures are great along with the text. It is a difficult subject that becomes a moderate subject with the use of this book.

A MUST READ BOOK!!!!
I'm going to insist that every one of my employees read The Personal Branding Phenomenon and apply the techniques. If they do, we'll supercharge our company with brand-minded leaders.

A Useful Tool
Whether you are an independent professional interested in marketing your identity and services, or someone who is interested in improving their perceived worth at home or work, The Personal Branding Phenomenon is an invaluable tool.

Montoya points out clearly in his book how you can use your own strengths and identity traits to promote, improve, and shape a Personal Brand.

And it makes sense.

I can see how harnessing the power behind Personal Branding will be an awesome way to position myself to increase my freelance career and move up the corporate ladder at work.

As a manager, I can see how Branding can help my employees and make them more successful.

It's organic. It's natural. It's great.

Also, the book is very well written. It has great examples and comparisons that give readers an even better understanding of the philosophy.

This is a must read for small business owners.

It's a great book and well worth the money.

Entertaining insight
Not being one trained in marketing, I hoped Peter Montoya's book would guide me in developing a marketing strategy for my small business. It did much more than that. I now see how every area of my life influences my personal brand whether I am aware of the principles and insights in Peter's book or not. It has inspired me to take action.

I expected a serious book such as this to be work to read but it entertained me throughout. I particularly enjoyed the insight into why the personal brand of a person like Martha Stewart is vulnerable to revelations inconsistent with their image.

Brilliantly written
This book is a mid-career biography of Dr. Paul Brand, a leading researcher in rehabilitation for leprosy patients. The book is extremely thorough in its details, perhaps overly so in some places. It begins with the lives of Brand's grandparents, gives a full account of his father's earlier influences, and includes much information about Paul Brand's early childhood in India, as well as his later childhood in Britain. Despite the depth of details, the book is extremely readable, and I found it to be a real page-turner from cover to cover.

One of my favorite biographies
From his beginning as the son of English missionary parents working in India, to his schooling in England, marriage, family, further work as a pioneer in leprosy treatment, innovative surgeries, and on to his continued research in America, this book tells the story of a man who has lead an exciting life. Dr. Brand's humility and ability to adapt to different cultural and environmental conditions both stem from his love for God and God's creation. Philip Yancey's fine foreword enhances Wilson's portrait of this great man. Recommended reading.

Very Insightful
Although a bit eccentric, this is a must read for all of you out there who want a new perspective on life. Still very interesting even if you just want a good read. I couldn't put it down the first time I read it. Some comments are a bit off-the-wall, but all in all a very good book.

Interesting and insightful reading
The book gives a very insightful look into why we have pain and why it's important for maintaining good health. I found it easy to read (I almost couldn't put it down!) and very informative. I think it's a must-read for anyone in the medical profession or anyone who suffers reccurent pain of any kind.

High praise for a refreshing insight.
As a clinician who works with chronic pain, I found Brand's book to be truly inspiring. People who get negatively obsessed with (non malignant) physical discomfort face the challenge of reconfiguring their perceptions about pain. Dr. Brand not only lays the groundwork for changing the context and meaning of pain - He does a good job of exploring the modern day paradox that more (ie overindulgent, materialistic, obsessive pursuit of creature comforts) is often less (in terms of true happiness). A great read!
