A recommended combination of mystery and western
G. G. Boyer's Morgette And The Shadow Bomber is the sixth volume of the adventures of Dolf Morgette, a gunfighter and lawman of the Old West. In Morgette And The Shadow Bomber, Morgette must investigate a series of mysterious bombings that mark rising tension between miners and mine owners. Events turn dangerous enough to require an appeal to Morgette's father-in-law, Chief Henry, in this exciting and enthusiastically recommended combination of mystery and western.

FROM MYTHICAL GUNSLINGER TO HOLLYWOOD MISINTERPRETATION
Winchester Affidavit is an epic historical novel filled with passion, romance and suspense as G. G. Boyer takes the reader back to the days of the New Mexico Territory and the Amarillo War. The Amarillo Grant was a vast estate owned by a Dutch financier. The estate manager, Lord Ransom, must make good his position -- he's engaged to the owner's daughter. To that end his segundo leads a group of night riders known as the Whitecaps, who use murder and mayhem to clear the grant of "squatters". These include native peoples, homesteaders, and Anglo ranchers, the largest of which is Cleve Bandelier, Former cavalry officer and widowed father of two, Bandelier leads the group that the Dutch syndicate would dispossess in a battle against corruption, terrorism, and brute force. G. G. Boyer's Winchester Affidavit demonstrates a story-telling talent reminiscent of such masters of the Old West as Zane Grey, Max Brand, and Louis Lamour. BY MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW

Aptly categorized as juvenile Litterature
As history this book falls far short. There are too many factual errors, assumptions and speculation to be taken seriously. Other recent books on thesubject would be a better investment.

Well worth reading
I read Wyatt Earp's Tombstone Vendetta for the first time--and enjoyed it--shortly after I became interested in Tombstone, Arizona and the people who lived there in the early 1880s. I read it for the second time after I had become much more familiar with the history of the town and the story of Wyatt Earp, and I enjoyed it much more. The more knowledge one has about Tombstone and its "players," the more they will come to life in a reading of this book.

This book grabs you on the first page.
"Wyatt Earp's Tombstone Vendetta" is a must read for anyone seriously interested in the true story of the Earp's in Tombstone. Boyer is the only writer today who had intimate knowledge obtained from the family of Wyatt Earp. The author tells us the story through a fictitious narrator named Ted Ten Eyck who arrives in Tombstone via the stage from Benson, Az. A fellow passenger on that stage is none other than Curly Bill himself. The book grabs you on the first page and transports you back to the streets of old Tombstone. You can almost taste and smell the old boom town. Glenn Boyer uses his considerable skills as a writer to blend cold verifiable facts with Earp family remembrances to tell us the entire story for the first time; the politics of an important mining district in conflict with the cattle ranchers (rustlers ?) who came first.....the struggle for control of the town and the cripply injury to Virgil, and the murder of brother Morgan. I found the characters came alive as real people instead of the wooden and lifeless characters within the history books. This book is a MUST for the Earp buff and for the first-time reader of Earpinan. This is a book you have to have. Enjoy it... Jim Groom

A Wonderful Read!
This is a wonderful first book for anyone beginning to research or just follow the story of Wyatt Earp. Glenn Boyer, a friend of Earp descendents for many years, has done a remarkable job of editing the memoirs of Earp's third wife, Josephine Sarah Marcus. An accurate human portrayal, I Married Wyatt Earp provides a unique personal insight into one of America's best-known western frontier icons. Although originally published several years ago, Mr. Boyer's work translates exceptionally well into our current generation. It's informative, exciting reading, and is highly recommended.

Josie and Wyatt - A Love Story
This wonderfully written book should be read as two volumes. First, read through all of the footnotes and annotations - they are a wealth of information in themselves. Second, read through the story of a woman faithfully devoted to her husband.

We all view our loved ones as slightly brighter stars than the rest of the world. Josie's recollections are no different. With the wealth of Earp family knowledge Mr. Boyer has as a foundation, he has filled in the gaps in the memory of an aging woman to bring the real man - just a man - to a captivated and thankful audience. This is the first story that looks at Wyatt realistically as a man.

The crisp prose and clever witicisms make this reader feel like a grandchild sitting at Gramma Josie's feet hearing her tell stories about her beloved Wyatt. Mr. Boyer's writing makes her real to those of us who can only imagine what that time in history was like.

A must for any true western fan's collection - AND something you will want to read over again.

Incredible Insight
"I Married Wyatt Earp" is not for those who are looking for a "shoot 'em up" historical biography. In fact the famed O.K. Corral gunfight is just a small portion of this book. However, if you are looking for incredible insight to what made Wyatt tick, what made Josie tick, what life was like during their era, and a very easy read then this is the book for you! Mr. Boyer is the only "historian/novelist" to have actually vistied with and received his information from the Earp family and friends as well as Josephine's family. This gives him an incredible edge over other so-called Earp historians and that is why anyone interested in the Earps needs to read this book and any other book in which Mr. Boyer graces us with.

The Guns Of Morgette is unique, but the ending was lacking.
When I started reading this book, I was expecting something different. Dolf Morgette is this larger than life gunfighter and the cover art is full of guys shooting at each other, but by the time I reached the end I was disappointed. I expected a dramatic ending with lots of shooting and excitement, but the author went for a calmer approach, that was lacking for me. This novel is well written and clever, with some good humor and suspense. The characters are well developed and funny at times. I suppose I was expecting too much. Still a worthy read for the unique style it offers.

Old fashioned Western with Alaskan favor.
A short Western novel with an Alaskan favor. He trys to capture the old Alaskan gold rush days to include them in the development of Morgette. You know the storyline: the good guy usually wins in the end. The fun part is reading to get there.
