Helpful Healing
I listened to this tape while I was recovering from a back injury. The meditation uses guided visualization and deep breathing to help focus on whatever part of your body suffers from pain. I found it very helpful - it decreased my pain and helped me calm down in general. I would recommend it to anyone with chronic pain or muscular injuries!

Pattern for reconciliation of science & metaphysics
This near-death experiencer has recovered, despite grave odds and near impossibility, an experience of severe oxygen deprivation. Though it took her many months to retrieve the information that was given to her during her NDE, she is able to articulate both the process and the implications of this geometrical marvel, from both a scientific and a metaphysical perspective. The Pattern shows great promise as a tool for humanity to continue the struggle to chart a course for a win-win future. Physicists and spiritual seekers alike will be fascinated to read about this gift from beyond.

For those seeking to understand women's spirituality
This book is an excellent tool not only for women seeking affirmation and encouragement on their journey to spirituality, but for men who wish to understand the feminine soul. Ms. Borysenko speaks clearly and openly of her own journey and gives hope and encouragement to her readers. The only drawback I found is that for those unfamiliar with Ms. Borysenko's background and previous works, her references might be confusing. However, her enthuiasm and compassion is contagious, and opens the door for one to continue their personal journey.

Take this trip!
I am a woman in my twenties and I was surprised and delighted while reading this book. I especially loved the opening poem asking, "What is holy?" along with chapters 1, 4 and 8. (In fact, I am hoping for a collection of published poetry by the author!) The reason I was surprised --I related to many of the feelings Ms. Borysenko describes regarding women and religion/spirituality. I once led a small, informal group in the Lord's Prayer and I tried to playfully start it with "Our Mother" but people (women too) playfully scorned me back like what an outlandish idea. So, I was and am very interested in the ideas expressed by the author. I also appreciated the inclusion and respect of several cultures and their contributions to spirituality. I really want to re-read this book and pass it on. Thank you for sharing your beautiful insights, and please keep writing.

A Spiritually Uplifting Pilgrimage
In A WOMAN'S JOURNEY TO GOD: FINDING THE FEMININE PATH, Joan Borysenko has once again gone steps beyond her solidly scientific background to a place completely her own...one of spirituality, community, ritual, faith, intuition, prayer, identity, and healing. This well-written book is full of inspirational stories, poems, and rituals that can be used to mark special times in a woman's life while on her way to God. Joan's compassion and understanding shine from the pages, and her humor urges us all to keep things in perspective while on this journey of life. She is a spiritual leader in a chaotic world, and her book reads like a beacon of truth. Come, take this pilgrimage with Joan. You deserve to partake of her wisdom. Learn from it. And when she finally publishes a book of her poetry, I'll be the first one in line to purchase it...

Light headed
The worst book on guilt I have read so far. A salad of pseudo sience and new age bla bla.

Having coffee with Joan
That's what this book will feel like to you: surely you must be sitting in your favorite coffeeshop across from Joan Borysenko, bending heads over a couple of Cafe Mochas! Joan tells it like it is, but with compassion, and a relation to what happened to her. I've had suspicions about the source of guilt in my life, but Joan's stories were the push to clarity. Years of talk therapy coalesced for me with this book. I had the good fortune to meet Joan once. Her energy is so friendly; you'll swear you've known her all her life. Thank the Source for inspiring this woman to teach us!

Know Yourself
This book is a keeper. Borysenko gently holds a mirror up for us to peek into our essence and see through our masks. We are a kaleidoscope of feelings, a symphony of thoughts drumming our consciousness, and much, much more. Joy comes with the observer, with insight into our humanity, with unraveling the heartless assumptions we have made about ourselves, and with letting go of the shame we carry. An articulate, important book.

metaphysical mumbo-jumbo
I bought the Nightingale Connant edition of this title, thinking that I would get some scientific information about mind-body healing. Instead, it was full of New Age metaphysics about past lives, reincarnation, spirit guides, angels, out of body experiences, and the like. If I had known this in advance, I would not have spent the money.

Thank you, God, for my Mind!
As Joan Borysenko has said, "Thank you, God, for my mind, for it is through it that I know you!" Indeed, she is a powerful teacher of Truth, possessing what is a rare quality of balance of both heart and mind. Thinking with feeling! Joan Borysenko is right on in this book, because I used some of her techniques to heal myself! If you doubt me, how otherwise could I go in 6 months from being ready for heart surgery to being given a clean bill of health? How did I go from congestive heart disease to no sign of heart disease? Simple: I followed my doctors to a point, but I then went the extra mile with God, by looking to Spirit for healing, through prayer, meditation, visualization and affirmation. THE MIND DOES HAVE THE POWER TO HEAL! Thank you, Joan, for a wonderful book (which I loaned away and am re-buying today through Amazon) and a BIG "Thank you, God!" for this miracle in my life! The mind of God is perfect, the essence of God is perfect, and as an expression of God, I too experience perfection! How about a big "AMEN!" everybody! :)
