Aussie True Blue
Australia and Australians are truely unique to the world. They see things differently, express them differently and seem as laid back as their accent. This book lets you share in the Australian lifestyle and through images produced with Tony Bennet's words you can see, touch and taste the Australian lifestyle. Everyone should experience a little of the Land Down Under and if you can't afford the plane ticket this book is the next best thing. Sit back in a comfortable chair, take the phone off your hook and get lost in Australia. Share a few hours with the regular Aussie and relax.

The Hounds Of The Baskervilles
Most people love dogs, however, that hound in this book was anything but charming. Henry Baskerville, the heir to a vast fortune and a valuable estate, feels that his life is in grave danger because of a frightful family legend. The legend statesthat all Baskerville heirs will be plauged by a great, luminous and ghastly hound that will haunt them until the day they die. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, his assistant, traves to Devonshire where all this is happening. It is up to Holmes and Watson to solve the errie case of "The Hounds Of The Baskervilles."

There were many things I liked aboput that book "The Hounds of the Bakervilles" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. One thing I liked about the book was thatsit had a superior plot. As a reader, I was dreawn into the book by the very first chapter. The book was written in first person, being Dr. Watson. Since the book was written in first person, I felt as though i was right beside Watson and Holmes back in the ninteenth century. I felt this way because of the wonderful descriptions and many adjecitives. When I read one of the descriptions of the hound, my breath ws taken away. In one passage Doyle writes, "Even now, it that stillness of death, the huge jaws seemed to be dripping with a bluish flame and the small, deep-set, cruel eyes were ringed with fire.

This is an excelent book that all will enjoy reading!

Wanna really play up the Sabbat/Camarilla conflict?
This book really helps to give a storyteller ideas about what steps the Camarilla and tbe Sabbat take when either side decides to beseige and take a city. While much of it would seem logical, White Wolf goes into some depth here, and examines all sides of any potential conflict: Camarilla, Sabbat, Anarchs, Independent clans... And it looks at what they do when they are defending or attacking.

Taken side by side with "Gilded Cage" this book helps to redefine Vampire: The Masquerade away from the brutal ultra-violence and more into the environmental-spanning manipulations necessary to run a political campaign.

Some of the graphics (one or two full-page ones, and most of the NPC templates) are way too dark, though (I can barely see any detail). But beyond that, there's definitely something for everyone here.

it could be a great book
It is a beautiful book with very interesting informations. I liked to know the history of many plants, but the autor doesnt't know almost anything about South American flowers. All the flora of Atlantic forest was forgotten. There is almost nothing about the great family of blomeliads and orchids. It could be a great book. . There is a book written by Loerenzi de Souza who has a great knowledge about brasilian flora, Harri Lorenzi (plantarum@plantarum.com. br) that could help the next edition.

A great botanical history
This is a great botanical history. I was impressed with the little vignettes of the great plant finders, many of whom lost their lives trying to find great new plants. I happened to be reading the book while driving through the Smokey Mountains and seeing the Lobelia cardinalis at the same time I was reading how the Queen of Spain named it because it was such a brilliant red it reminded her of a Cardinal's robe. If you love plants, you will love this book.

The book is orgainized roughly by plant family, which is fine. I was a bit annoyed that there were pictures of period gardens stuck everywhere throughout the book (in the middle of the plant family organization). Rather than being in the middle of the chapters, I think these wonderful pieces could have been between the chapters. Actually I was so interested in what I was reading, I didn't appreciate the also wonderful interuption.

By the way, I passed by a whole hillside of Tradescantia in the Smokey Mountains while reading about the Tradescants (father and son) who brought that great plant to Europe.

The only thing I would caution is that the book is great reading, but for history, not how to grow the plant in your garden, especially if you are in the US, since the author is from England and cultural requirements are not his strong point.

Congratulations
I think this is a very interesting book.

This book might help you build a decent chronical.
The Hunter game is a nice addition to anyones WoD collection. This book can help one to build better characers. You know onesa that can actually live for past 60 seconds.

Misnomer, but still good
When I purchased this book, I was expecting something along the lines of a a player's guide or such. What I got, on the other hand, was a sourcebook chock full of information on supernaturals around the world. Be careful that you know what this is before you purchase it. It's an excellent book and I liked it very much, but it was not what I had in mind for a survival guide.

Good book, full of potential story ideas.
I liked this book. Its written from the point of view of the hunters, a different one for each section. The book does not have any game mechanics, its pure story. It begins with a few tips for novice hunters, something you should get your players to read through. Then it goes on to describe each continent. It spends a lot of time discussing the world outside of North America, so if your planning on running a game in a different country then this is the book for you. I liked the fact that since the information is given out by hunters, it is full of various facts that are completely not true, so your players can read through the book and still not have any of the real information. Full of great story potential and well written. A good buy if your going to run a hunter's game.

terrible stuff
It's one of the worst things I've ever read or seen. I used to be a fan of Top Cow trade paperbacks but this thing is unforgiveably bad. Try some other comics like Sin City, you'd be better off.

the best
i have ta give this one the five star rating, simply cause the witchblade and darkness comics are the greatest comics to ever exist, well, ok, maybe not the greatest, but they're sure as hell my favorite. GO CHECK EM OUT! IF YA DONT LUV IT, uh......um......well.....thats ur opinion.

A very disappointing book.
A very disappointing book. Poorly presented. Uninteresting. Badly written. Morally unedifying. This is how my 10 year old summed up his present (this book) after a day long read. After perusing it myself I must agree. Buy Dr.Seuss's The Lorax instead. Do not buy unless as a gift for a child you do not like.

The nurturing qualities of home and family.
I've recommended this book to family and friends. It's filled with delightful stories, poems and quotations that celebrate the love of husband and wife, parents, grandparents and children. It contains some of the best from Robert Louis Stevenson, Louisa May Alcott, Lord Tennyson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and the Old and New Testament. (A few illustrations merit 4 stars instead of 5.)

Go To The Library Instead
In what could have been one of the most fascinating stories in US history, the reader instead is mired in a convoluted and confusing rendition of the Bennett family's rise to power and position on the backs of trusting investors. As one integrally involved in the unfolding story, Mr. Weisman would appear to have been in a position to illuminate not only the methods and means by which the largest Ponzi scheme in US history took place, but also the very character of the principals involved - a seemingly ordinary family living in a small city in Central New York. Instead the reader is treated to a frequently disjointed and, at times, self-serving story line which has one asking "how did I get here" and "how does this relate to anything?" As a product of the sixties, it has been a long time since I have seen the word "kharma" used with such frequency in print. I wish mine had told me to wait for the paperback edition.

greed overrides all morals
FASCINATING STEP-BY-STEP INSIGHT INTO A FAMILY OF HIGH SOCIETY WANNA BE'S & THE DEPTHS OF OUTRIGHT BUSINESS FRAUD TO WHICH THEY WENT TO REACH THE TOP.SOME ACCOUNTS OF ACTUAL SKULLDUGGERY WHICH WAS A LITTLE BIT MUCH FOR ME BUT STILL HIGHLY READABLE.THE INSIDERS VIEWPOINT IS LIGHTENED CONSIDERABLY BY SOMETIMES AMUSING AND SOMETIMES SARDONIC CHAPTER HEADINGS.TOUCHING POIGNANT FINISH.

If I Were a Fairy is not the full title of this book !
I bought this book because I was looking for board books about gnomes or fairies for my baby son (with artwork similar to Lauren Mills). When I searched, this book was the only one I found. The problem is that the full title is If I Were a Fairy, or a Ballerina, or a Witch, or... Because of this I recommend the book for female children only. The book is set so that one inserts a photo of their child in the back of the book and then all the pages have faces with holes in them for the photo to show through. A cute idea, I guess, but I do not think the child's face looks like it belongs with the body at all. Then again, this is a board book and a baby wouldn't notice such things. I always look for beautiful and colorful artwork in books and this one has artwork that I would call mediocre. It was copyrighted in 1989 and is one of a group of books in which one can insert a child's photo to show in each page. Each page has a one line caption, that attempts to rhyme, which children like, but I found some of them awkward. Example: With ballet slippers and a pink tutu, I could dance gracefully for all of you. In summary, this book has a cute idea, but no beauty whatsoever.
