This is the one to read. I even gave it to my husband to read. Easy to read. I read it in 2 hours. This book gave me the reasons people act the way they do. Then it gave me a way to talk to those kinds of people.

I initially bought this book for my husband, who was having a difficult time at work with his boss. My husband has huge praises for the book and now that I have finished reading it, I've come to understand why. Arthur and Dayle have managed to consolidate and present strategies on how to deal with difficult people in a handy and easy-to-read book. Even if you don't find time to read, you can easily read some pages on the way to work in the train. A questionaire helps you to identify what type of person you are, and explains the different personality types, helping you to see why yome people react in certain ways. You will realise eventually why you seem to always clash with a certain personality group. This book gives you tips on how you can handle 'difficult' people and helps you to have a clearer picture of yourself. For all you know you may be the S.O.P. (Source Of Pain) that others are experiencing!!

I picked up this book because of the title and price. Excellent source of support for managing projects with cross functional teams. I am planning on buying for the team as a team building session. Quick and easy to read with helps tremendously....

Sonnensschein has written something very useful, with concise definitions and practical advice. He spends the reader's time judiciously by getting to the practical aspects of diversity in a hurry, and then by articulating the practices that can best be employed to capitalize on the reality of an increasingly diverse world. He makes good distinctions about what matters...for example, focusing on significance rather than mere style issues. This is a well-written primer on an important subject.

I,being the daughter of the deceased, Felix Melendez, who knew of John Knight, was very touched by the book.

The five major sections are: foundations for management communication; correspondence; reporting and proposing; career communication; managing oral communication; and global issues in management communication. There are twenty-five cases keyed to the chapter topics; a concise, bound-in handbook providing answers to questions about grammar, punctuation, usage, and documentation; exercises; many full-length examples; helpful shortcuts and acronyms; and guidelines for using the latest forms of information/communication technology. I was disappointed with this one. Everyone else liked it. I just thought it was very plain, and became bored with it quickly. If you suffer from anxiety check out "Embracing the Fear"...

A wondefully written book, I must say. The first medical/psychological help book I've read before and it has tickled my interest. Dr. James Gardner helps anyone and everyone who has ever experienced a little bit or a lot of anxiety(which is most of us) and explains in simple language why it is happening and what to do about it. If going the medical method is not your savy, than you have a whole chapter just for herbal remedies, everything from kava kava to ginko biloba. A friend of mine who is currently angoraphobic is reading the book and she rants and raves about how much help the book is giving her. In no way, shape or fom does Gardner force his beliefs down your throat and generalize what is going on with the general population and their experiences. He helps you with a plethora of options which work with different people for different symptoms. As a psychology major I wouldn't be surprised to see this as a required reading for a class of mine. Don't let the fact that this is Gardner's first book, there is no evidence of amateurity. Enjoy!

As a businessman doing business in the always hostile Russian Far East, I am constantly put into severe situations of a dangerous and stressful nature. In seeking advice on handling the anxiety and stress that come with such situations, it was such a refreshing change to read a book that is written from a perspective of understanding and compassion. No "down talking" lectures, but straight talking help for everyone dealing with anxiety, depression or stress. Many of the business partners and friends I have in Russia suffer from severe depression due to the heavy use of alcohol and their living environment. Understanding their needs and situation will certainly help in my work and friendships. Having a Medical Doctor affirm the status of gay and lesbians and the depression that often effects our lives is also a great help to us all! Thank You Dr. Gardner!

I originially bought this book for a class I was taking, thinking that it would simply fulfill a requirement and nothing more. I couldn't have been more wrong! Long after I needed this book for my class, I consulted it time and time again for tips on how to write effective letters for scholarships, conveying sensitive information, and much more. Norman Sigband and Arthur Bell have created the definitive source for how to advance in the bureaucratic world that is the United States.

For a detailed case study analysis of the quantitative decision making process, Schleifer and Bell's "Decision Making Under Certainty" can't be beat. It is a detailed review of the variety of functions that quantitative decision analysis can be used for. From the analysis of operating procedures in the oil industry to the production of sugar, quantitative analysis is an effective tool and Schleifer and Bell have clearly established it as fact.

This book has many interesting anecdotes as well as helpful checklists, tips and a useful appendix of self-tests. It's and easy read and a good introduction to leadership.

The book does not live up to expectations. Yes it does have a variety of info but it is poorly edited. You have to search for many of the non-std abrieviations. Many of the tables could have been far more useful if their content was expanded. Little backup explanation is offered. Units are not rigidly adhered to. Publishing quality is one step above a Xerox copier. Overall, not a complete waste of money but also not all it could be.

I had waited sooo long for this novel to come out, and when its all been read and done, it was bad. boring and slow, with no intrest at all the novel just never hit it off. I love Barbara Michaels, but this just was not her.

The paranormal novel, Other Worlds, is a step away from what Barbara Michaels (Aka Elizabeth Peters) normally writes, which is romantic suspense, and maybe that's why it isn't up to her normal talented standards. Since I listened to the abridged audio, some of the Michaels drama may have been missing. I can't say for sure, but this may be why I came to this conclusion. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but it just didn't have the Michaels suspense that her other titles are blessed with. Another attribute of Ms. Michaels that is missing is the romance, but I don't think it would have been appropriate anyway.

There is a meeting at an exclusive men's club. At this cozy get together is Frank Podmore of the Society for Psychical Research, magician Harry Houdini, Arthur Conan Doyle, Nandor Fodor, former director of the International Institute for Psychical Research. In this meeting, two stories are presented. One is a story of a witch ghost that haunts the Bell family of Tennessee for several years... As a supernatural ghost tale, the book held it's own, with the exception that the characters were not taking it seriously, and this seemed to keep me from taking it seriously. The analysis and criticism after each story didn't bothered me, but some of the individuals' opinions did. Maybe it's just me, but some of the attitude's came across more as sexist than actually debunking. But, all in all, because it is a Barbara Michaels work I would still recommend it to those who know her work and those who don't, after all it was an interesting concept.

When listening to an audio, I like to make mention on how it appealed to me. When I see Barbara Rosenblat's name as the narrator, I pretty much expect a good read, and this one was, but I wonder if the story would have been a little more engaging with a male narrator. Don't let my wonderings stop you from trying the audio or the book. It was an interesting paranormal read.

I had not read any of her works as either Barbara Michaels or Elizabeth Peters before, so this was my introduction to her work. This mystery is actually two stories in one, with each story around 100-120 pages long. I preferred the first to the second; both dealt with families being tormented by a spirit of some kind or poltergeist activity. At the close of each story, the ghostly gentleman's club - including Harry Houdini and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - draw various conclusions. Thus there is not just one right answer, but instead various opinions and scenarios. Good work, quick read, fun for classic mystery / poltergeist fans.
