The action then skips on to several years later, when Bartholoméo's daughter Ginevra falls in love with a mysterious fugitive hiding in the atelier of her art teacher. But what is the stranger's background, and will the old vendetta return to plague the di Pimbo family?
"La Vendetta" nothing more than a mediocre romance, not a work that that would stand with the better of Balzac's novels I've read. Harmless enough, but ultimately forgettable.
