Lovely book
Anthony Holden has put together a lovely tribute to the late Princess of Wales. It's a well designed book, with nice pictures (from Diana's formal portraits to her everyday life) and engaging text. If you like to collect Princess Diana memorabilia, this book would make a fine addition to your bookcase.
A poignant book that captures many facets of Diana's life
This book is one of the best I have seen that respectfully looks at Diana's life and her impact on others. Using Diana's own words, quotes from others who knew her, and expressive photographs, the author captures the many facets of Diana's life that made her so unique. Highly recommended.

Nice pictures -- of the same three gardens!
This book is filled with color pictures, but as soon as you examine them closely you realize that they are pictures from different angles of the same three gardens -- most of them incomplete (as stated in their own captions) or violating the author's own rules of not planting your potager with poor-preforming, slow-growing plants. The introduction goes into detail about the first potager, and how she went to visit it in France, but there are no pictures of it! Also disappointing, is that all the potagers displayed are filled with annual vegetables. I didn't see any suggestions on what to plant, or what to do with empty potager beds once the growing season is over. This is a good book to browse in a book store or library but not for the hard-core landscaper or vegetable grower.
A Sense of Humus: A Bedside Book of Garden Humour

Witty but really just for gardeners
I received this book from a friend who is a passionate gardener and who thought this was the loveliest thing she had read in years. My great passion is reading, not getting dirty in the garden, but she thought that I would still share her enthusiasm.
To a certain extent I do, and it is certainly full of warm and witty stories and anecdotes relating to the joys of gardening. But it is just that which has failed to hold my attention. It is about gardening.
If you can find a copy for a gardening friend, or if your greatest joy is planting, weeding and identifying obscure flowers, you will adore this book. If not you will still appreciate its warm humour.
A nice book, which could be truly wonderful, depending on your ties with the garden!
