The Buffett Bible
Andrew's book gives you a great amount of information and all the stories that don't show up in other Buffett books or Berkshire Hathaway's annual reports. I loved this book and have several editions (each gets better as more info, pictures and stories are added).

Unfiltered Facts
This book, while it collects many unknown facts does not organize these facts into an easy reading format.

I purchased this book and DISCARDED it because I found it too unorganized to read. The author himself states that he wrote this as a shareholder-admirer and I find very little added value in this book. Read the annual reports and some of the other excellent books instead. You will never finish this book.

Kilpatrick tells Buffett's story with interesting detail
Andy Kilpatrick has updated his work entitled "of Permanent Value, The Story of Warren Buffett." As a stockbroker and writer, Kilpatrick collates many resources in writing this book. He interviews Buffett's friend and family, he quotes from Berkshire Hathaway annual reports and the famous Chairman letters, and he harvests data from the annual reports of companies which Buffett has owned. Kilpatrick proudly relays stories of the many hours he has pesonally spent with his hero, Warren Buffett. Buffett has told Kilpatrick that he "wishes him well, but not too well" because Buffett intends one day to write his own story. Apparently Buffett approves of Kilpatrick efforts since Buffett has met with the author several times after the 1994 edition of this same title. For a reader interested in learning about Warren Buffett this book is a great starting point and worth the purchase price. For the longtime student of Buffett's writings or to the richly rewarded Berkshire Hathaway shareholders this book offers much value. The story of Warren Buffett's success is amazing when learned for the first time and on rereading that story gets even richer. Andy Kilpatrick has retold that story with full and interesting detail.

I was attracted by the first edition of this book(in chinese). Really interesting.

This is a great book that adds detailed research not included in Warren Buffett's annual reports for Berkshire Hathaway.

Highly recommended for students of politics & economics.
Who Owns America? is a collection of informative, challenging, iconoclastic and articulate essays on the nature of industrialism, corporate capitalism, the bureaucratic state, private property, the "good" society, and neo-Jeffersonian visions of a decentralized America. From David Cushman Coyle's "The Fallacy of Mass Production", to Frank Lawrence Owsley's "The Foundations of Democracy", to James Muir Waller's "America and Foreign Trade", to Robert Penn Warren's Literature as a Symptom", to Hilaire Belloc's "The Modern Man", these and many more observant and insightful commentaries deserve as wide a readership as possible and are highly recommended to students of American politics, economics, and history.

Thanks for your help
A friend gave me a copy of this book "Dumped" and it has been like finally having a friend who understands what I have been through. Six months ago,my husband left me for another woman after 16 years of marriage. I didn't know that there was Hell on earth until that happend. When you are dumped, it is really hard for other people to understand the trauma and emotion. While I got sympathy at first, after the first few weeks, people don't want to talk about it anymore and yet I couldn't seem to control my own emotions and began to feel like a pariah. While I understood that, I really didn't understand a lot of my own emotions and trauma. Ms. Warren has put it all in perspective for me and really made it easier to cope with this dramatic change in my life. I just hope that many other women ( and men) will have the chance to read this book. I would suggest that it would be useful to read it before you may be faced with a breakup as it would really help you to understand the signs and perhaps deal with them without so much pain and trauma. Thanks for your help Sally.

The Best!!!
I had no idea that I could make it through my nighmare. The author knows exactly what we go through when we are dumped- and being dumped is certainly different from when couples mutually call it quits. Mine hurt and stung and I didn't know how I could live anymore. This book gives us support and hope and courage (the three things we need most!). If you've been left by the man you loved, READ THIS! My only regret is that I waited 2 months to get it. God Bless...

DUMPED is an invaluable guide for separated & divorced women
Only thing wrong with DUMPED by Sally Warren -- it hadn't yet been written when I was dumped years ago. From the desperation and emotional devastation stage to the realization that getting dumped was a blessing in disguise, this book would have been an invaluable resource. The insight and wisdom contained in DUMPED provide a lifeline for those experiencing the pain and trauma of separation and divorce. This excellent book is a must read not only for "dumpees," but also for all of their support system friends and family.

An intelligent novel
People of the Veil is an intelligent novel concerning the struggles of an American diplomat and Islamic fundamentalist in civil war torn Algeria. The author displays his knowledge of Arab culture, State department politics, and Islam in a fast paced thriller that becomes increasingly difficult to put down. The villains are multi-dimensional and move beyond cliched Hollywood and CNN portrayals of terrorists...they may be nasty but you know why! Dirk Pitt and Jack Ryan will need to make some room for Nick Phillips. This book must be made into a movie. Buy it. You won't regret it.

The People of the Veil
If you like realistic, well written fiction, then this book is for you. This book is a real page turner! The author is obviously very knowledgable about the arab culture, arab mindset, terrorism and the arab world in general. Although fictional, the book is also very educational, as it weaves history, current events, terrorist operations/mindset, and information about how our diplomatic missions function into the story line. The story centers on the second in charge of the U.S. Embassy in Algiers. The government in Algeria is on the verge of collapse. The terrorists have devised a plan to take over the Embassy and kill everyone inside, to help further their goal of an Islamic Fundamentalist state in Algeria. The terrorists devise an ingenious plot to bypass the embassy security and gain entrance. (you'll have to read the rest). The characters and plot are very realistic and obviously based on a combination of extensive research and real life experience. I highly recommend this novel!

Absolutely excellent book.
Andrew Warren offers a timely education on middle east culture with a light romantic twist. In light of the ongoing situation in Algeria and the threat of terroriom worldwide, this is certainly a plausible scenario. Excellent details on security issues, Islamic culture, and terrorist tactics. The more I read, the closer I felt to the action, and the more I empathized with Embassy personnel and Marines who man these forward posts daily. I especially liked the way he captured the heroism and the moral quandary of the local nationals - all balanced and insightful. Nick Philips is the hero, but he has a strong supporting cast of convincing characters. The book is loaded with short chapters that you just can't put down. Strong 5 stars for this first time author. Movie material!!

For "Berk-Heads" Only
This is a relatively well-written book, telling the story of Warren Buffett in great detail. Let me emphasize this last part by repeating it: it tells the story of Warren Buffett _in great detail_.

Author Andrew Kilpatrick has tackled his subject with the dedication of a stalker. Throughout _Of Permanent Value_ readers will be told, not just how WEB has accumalated a mind-boggling fortune, but also how well he tips (or doesn't), who his favorite philosopher is and what type of car he drives. You'll learn of the different groups of Buffett fans, the relatives of Buffett, the foundation that will spread around his wealth after he's no longer tap-dancing to work. And you'll read accounts of (random) people who saw Buffett in China, who taught or went out with him when he was younger, and so on and so on ad infinitum.

As such, the book is primarily for those who want to know more about who Warren Buffett the person is, than about how one can be more like him financially. To those, then, who want to know how to invest like Buffett I do not recommend you read this book--at least not until after you've read the other, better books on this subject. These are _The Warren Buffett Way_ (my favorite), _The Making of an American Capitalist_, and _How to Pick Stocks Like Warren Buffett_.

If you, however, _do_ want to know much more about Buffett than the average person, this book can not be recommended highly enough. Everything has been written down in the pages of this book--the only thing that wasn't discussed was whether Buffett wears boxers or briefs. (I'm sure Kilpatrick's saving this one for the next, revised edition however.)

Berkshire Hathaway a company with perpetual growth model
Mathematically nothing can grow forever but Berkshire at least seems that way. And that is exactly what the Oracle of Omaha has created. A business model that few understand. It took me several years to understand this empire moulded and nurtured by few honest men with Warren Buffett at the helm. This book is part of my library because it gives all the details one would like to know about the company and the man who runs it. The Oracle is as honest as history of business has ever known.

This book is a gem and must be in every library of every business school on this planet and everyone who wants to know about Berkshire and Warren Buffett.

If you are interested in Warren Buffett this is a good read!
Mr. Kilpatrick goes into great detail on the life of Warren Buffett and his investment career. Starts from the beginning (Buffett Partnership) and goes up until approx. 1996. Has numerous stories of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders and the people who, in one way or another, had an impact on Berkshire Hathaway. Hope he writes another book like this one on Mr. Munger!

Gen 13 returns to its roots: cheesecake.
It's possible that someone reading London • New York • Hell, the Gen 13 collection by Warren Ellis and Steve Dillon, might suspect the book of catering to readers who want an intelligent plot in their comics. Adam Warren dispels that notion with Superhuman Like You, the next collection of Gen 13 books.

Don't get me wrong, Warren knows his audience. No one subscribes to Gen 13 for awesome storytelling; that thing with Ellis was an aberration. The book is about skin, and that's why readers always come away from a Gen 13 book knowing what color Fairchild's undies are.
