They begin with 5 traditional evaluation criteria: authority, accuracy, objectivity, currency, and intended audience, and give examples of how these criteria apply to Websites. They also extend these criteria with evaluation measures that are specific to the medium. They then apply the evaluation criteria to different types of Websites: advocacy, business, informational, news, personal, and entertainment pages. This book is a must-have for libraries and researchers. It would also be very useful for serious Web designers who want to understand what kinds of design factors will bring credibility and respect to their Websites.

The authors have done a great job of providing criteria, explanations and examples for web users who wish to evaluate information on the web. We all know there is a ton of stuff out there, much of it bad or biased. Now we know how to tell the wheat from the chaff. Individual web users will want to have the book handy when looking for consumer, health, business, or other kinds of data on the web. Teachers may want to require it as a text or supplemental reading in courses which involve web user. Students who include information found on the web in their research can use this guide to determine the quality, currency and objectivity of web sites. This book fills a gap in the literature. Nicely written. Easy to read. Great gift idea.

I have read this book several times. I have used many of the techniques described in it to my advantage. The authors explain how to develop your mental edge making you a more valuable asset to your employer. It also provides you some insight to the capabilities of the human mind. I would recommend this book for leaders in the military, law enforcement, and corporate business.

This book was the first to reveal some experimental work in the field of "Enhancing Human Performance" carried out by the US military & intelligence community. A significant core of the book, for me, was the previously classified material on "The Jedi Project", which utilised NLP and similar advanced learning technologies to train soldiers in pistol shooting, with dramatic results. Other chapters deal with topics which have since become more widely, and controversially known , such as Remote Viewing. All in all The Warrior's Edge displays a fascinating junction of military practicality and new age beliefs.

The book while explaining cutting edge reserarch in the military, really is an excellent book about developing the skills and technqiues on how to expertly master new skills, influence others skillfully and ethically, goal-setting, and many other topics. Very unique information, using a lot of neuro-linguistic programming. Really enjoyed the chapter on reality mapping, in helping me to understand that other people interpret the world according to their own assumptions and values. Great book. Highly recommend, because it's not about killing, but living your life and achieving your full potential.

This book is written in an accessible and practical format. It assumes nothing but at the same time treats the reader as an intelligent participant on the journey to understanding evidence based practice.

It is up to date and I was especially impressed with the web address it gives to ensure the reader is kept abreast of any changes since publication.

It systematically explains the need and use of 'evidence', how to find it (the search advice is comprehensive and includes details such as search terms and the best search engines aswell as web addresses) how to evaluate it and also how to act on it.

All in all this book was great, and I would reccomend it to anyone involved in evidence based healthcare practice as it will guide you through the thorniest problems.
