Easy to feel part of the lives of the characters
I keep looking for more books by Mr. Zimmerman. I found all four of them by accident when I started looking at the "Z" authors at my library. I was hooked immediately, I especially like that he included golf in one of his mysteries.

Thoroughly enjoyable with a fascinating and interesting plot
I have read several of Bruce Zimmerman's books and find them to be very easy to get absorbed into the plot. The author is knowledgeable on the subject of each of his books and the area that is portrayed in each book. I understand that he has another book out and am waiting for the opportunity to read it.

One of the Very Best Murder Mysteries, I have ever read!
Intriging Murder Mystery found on the Golf Course, light reading with an amusing sense of humor, keeps you guessing with so many characters to suspect. Very knowledgeable of the California area and all aspects of Golf, including the U.S. Open Tornament.

Top-notch guide
I love the way this book is organized. Rather than describe a series of hiking opportunities in New Jersey, the authors carefully culled through hundreds of trails and picked out the most exciting hikes in the state. They even patched together multiple trails in within most parks so you would get the best bang out of the time invested. The descriptions are accurate and fun to read. I tried three of them so far and look forward to doing the other 47.

Great book for day hikes in and about NJ.
In the first weeks of owning the book, I have done 3 of the hikes so far, Governor's Mtn, Manor circular, and Carris Hill, although I was already familiar with the parking lots, trailheads through many years mtn biking and hiking in the area, I found the descriptions to be top notch and accurate. Using those descriptions and a simple NYNJTC topo map (with GPS coordinates!) navigation is a snap. GPS is practically unnecessary since most of the trails are well marked. Even though I have only done three of the trips in there, I am very familiar with most of the places mentioned there, the Palisades, Wawayanda, Jockey Hollow, etc. as I've hiked or biked there before I got this book. The book is an excellent day trip for the beginner to intermediate day tripper, fits nicely even in small camelback type devices. My only wish is they included the trail blaze color in the maps they provide, makes for faster quick reference when hiking.

"Sacrifice" and then some
...The story follows the main plot of the episode"Sacrifice" almost verbatim. It doesn't leave anything out,but it does have things that weren't in the show. It spices up the paranormal aspect and gives a much more extensive backstory for the Civil War soldier who encounters "Bigfoot" (middle name: Fuzzy) so many years before Fiona. It's a cute book and even if you haven't seen the show the story is easy to follow and the characters are given quite a bit of background. You won't be lost at all.

Great Book
I thought this book was really great, it is one of my favorite's in the whole So Weird book series. Fi gets lost in the woods while on a camping trip with her family and finds Bigfoot, who tries to save her. Fi finds out that a Civil War hero died just so he could protect Bigfoot, now Fi has to do the same.

Great Book
This is a great book for those who are fans of the "So Weird" T.V. show.

Thank you
I have been so busy reading. Sorry I didn't rate sooner.

Diabetes Basics
This book by the American Diabetes Association does a commendable job of reviewing many of the basic issues surrounding diabetes. It is a nice starting point for a newly diagnosed patient but does not offer much detail for the more seasoned person with diabetes. The information is well laid out and succinctly explained. For those looking for more details and references I would recommend the ENCYCLOPEDIA of DIABETES by Petit and Adamec.

A great reference guide to have if you are a diabetic.
This book is a great guide to have if you are a diabetic. The information is written well and easy to understand. You will go away a more informed person about your diabetes. It has truly helped me to gain the knowledge I need to help me cope with this disease.

George Washington's Mother
Published in Paperback by Weston Woods Studios (2000)
Authors: Jean Fritz, B. J. Ward, and Bruce Zimmerman

Disappointed
As a teacher, I was very disappointed that a noted author would have such poor writing skills. There are so many sentence fragments in this story, I lost count. I do not know how many times I have to tell students to not start sentences with the word "and". This story has sentences that start with the word "and", and sentences that are just prepositional phrases. It is hard to teach students to write, when authors write poorly.

Disappointing...not Jean Fritz's usual quality
I am a fan of Jean Fritz, but I was disappointed with this book. It portrays Mrs. Washington in a very bad light, selfish, and greedy. While this may be true, I don't feel it is appropriate for this age level. Children this age should be taught to respect adults. If what Jean Fritz wrote about Mrs. Washington is true then I don't mind my children learning about it...when they are a bit older. Although this book was a disappointment, I do recommend other Fritz books such as George Wahington's Breakfast, and Shh! We're writing the Constitution.

A Friendly Droll Little Book!
I really appreciated this book. It shows that we are all human and even George Washington had a clingy dependent mother. Whatever flaws he had in his own personality and flaws in his relations, he still found himself being able to cope and acheive. That's a great message to send to readers. It also highlights the dependency women had on men. George Washington's mother was not able to support herself and believed she could not cope.
