I recomend it to every Operations Research students
As a portuguese student, at Universidade Lusíada, i found this book an excelent manual. It's only a shame that this book doesn't develop more the chapter of defining a linear programing problem. Nevertheless, i found it very elucidating and easy to read to everyone

A bright "Star" in the OR SKY!!!
Very good book! Can be used as a reference for practising engineers or as a Text-book in a class room at the Senior under-graduate class or in a Masters program. I used this book 25 years ago and now the 2001 edition is very well written and organized, addressing the 21st Century problems in OR. For Personal PC applications the CD is of great help for any one who want to succeed in Operations Research!

Ignore bad reviews of this book
I've been doing operations research for a number of years now, and I still use this book. I find it really incredible, in that it is the best-written book I have ever seen in this highly mathematical area, with no second! It introduces topics so well that I can skip right to the chapter covering the topic in which I am interested and catch the maximum continuous learning gradient from the global minimum to the global maximum, complete with a survey of and references to the latest research in the field. It's very up to date. The courseware makes it so that even an idiot could understand what is going on. If you can't learn operations research from this, you can't learn operations research. And if you want a quick refresher, an update, or a survey of field X, it accomplishes these equally well.

Worth the price paid but not very comprehensive.
The quotes are very well organized but not as thorough as expected. A good quick reference guide but if you are in need of quotes on a regular basis this one isn't as complete as expected.

Highly useful and thought provoking
Good content. Able to find useful quotations for presentations. In addition I really enjoyed browsing for pleasure and a few good laughs.

The jokes on you!
My wacky sister makes a point of giving totally useless birthday gifts to her best friends. Examples? Well over the years she's given Bernard one sock, last years calendar, a bra, size xxxxx over-large jockey y fronts, a used light bulb, a paper bag with eye holes, a Hebrew cookbook with accompaning Hebrew-English dictionary. You get the idea.

Well this year, guess what he's getting!

Yes! You're right! This book. It doesn't have a single funny joke!

Dated
Material is very dated from the 1950s. Way out of touch with todays audience. Not much usable material.

Five Jokes Per Penny. Any Takers?
At the rate of 5 jokes per penny how could this book not be a good deal? The jokes by now are very dated. It is really a history of what used to be funny. The problem is you have to search through so many old jokes to find one you might use. I have belatedly discovered that jokes books are not of much value in public speaking. Using other peoples old jokes could really ruin your image. May be this book is good for a humor historian. It may be useful in stimulating your own joke creation. All in all for some the book is worth the price, just be sure you can accept all the clutter before you buy it. The editorial reviews are deceptive--look out.
