Ginnie and Geneva characters
I adored these two characters as a child, and wished that Catherine Wooley had written more books focused on them! I whole-heartedly believe they should be reprinted! My daughters' school library still has a couple of these Wooley books on its shelves, the very ones I read in the early 1970's!

The Best!!
I have read the Ginnie and Geneva books over and over ever since I was Ginnie's age. Catherine Woolley is such a wonderful writer who really understands young girls. I recently re-read Ginnie and Geneva (again, even though I'm all grown up) and I felt as if I actually were Ginnie. The descriptions of what Ginnie sees and feels are so well-done. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to enjoy these great books too.

Bring Ginnie back
Bring Ginnie back to print! These books painted a colorful picture of Ginnie's adventures. Catherine Wooley does a great job of describing Ginnie's surroundings in great detail. She makes you feel like you are there. You can smell the food, feel the cold winter air, etc. It's really ashame they are out of print.

Room for Cathy
I read this book as a young girl. Later I decided that I must add this to my book collection. I was so happy when I found it. Cathy's family moves into a new house and Cathy finally gets the privacy and space of a new room. When the family has to take in boarders and rent out her room, Cathy learns a lesson about lucky she really is. I have read this book over and over.

If I close my eyes, I can remember this one.
If I close my eyes, I can remember reading this one. I read it over and over and over as a young girl. I can remember laying on my top bunk with three younger sisters making a racket in the house and escaping to this place where another person, Cathy, understood me. A must-read for young girls.

WONDERFULLY DESCRIPTIVE!!
I remember feeling the warmth cast by the sunny yellow walls and really being able to smell the violets in the yard. This book will encourage your child to write! I still count it among the best books I've ever read!

Review
This book should be of interest to anyone who was a teenager during the sixties and seventies. It tells of the problems that arise when a rock concert is being given in a nearby town. Cathy and her suburban, professional parents are suddenly deluged by thousands of music loving hippies who invade their town (and their front lawn). The characters are colorful and one gets some insight into how the hippie generation thought and was perceived by conservative Americans.

A mysterious and surprising book
This is a pretty good book and sometimes it can shock you. It's about a 12 year old girl named Ginnie and her very best friend Geneva going on a trip to Europe. They don't like leaving their pets when they leave. Ginnie's adopted cousin sends Ginnie a little a cat charm that looks like her cat Mumbo.Whenever she is scared or is upset she tightly holds the charm.
