Thought-provoking and beautiful
Cardiofitness is an amazing novel: imaginative yet realistic, lovely and gritty. Alessandra Montrucchio got to the heart of every character while still exploring their flaws - self-doubt, frustration, fear, and loneliness. Stef is confident and cheerful, her strong exterior masking her insecurity. Tendina is growing into himself, escaping the nagging inadequacy of his home life by focusing on becoming something more. They are a surprising and somehow comfortable couple. This is an excellent book - I strongly recommend it.

Great guide to San Fran!
This is an excellent guide to the city, especially for a first-time visitor. A lot of helpful information. I went to several of the recommended restaurants and enjoyed all of them. This book directs the traveler to many out-of-the-way places you'd never find on your own.

an excellent collection of stories by Italian women
An anthology of stories in the original Italian, including those by Cialente, Ginzburg, Ortese, Morante, romano, Maraini and Duranti. The thirteen stories offer a range of style and content indicative of the wealth and and diversity by women, and their reading is supported by critical notes (in English) an extensive glossary. An excellent edition for intermediate and advanced students of Italian.

Also in an index of Santa Fe bookshops, Santa Fe food stores, and Santa Fe plants and pots stores.
And 7 home preservation organizations are listed- with their address and phone numbers.

The chapters are divided into 4 categories: Earth, Fire, Water and Air.

Ruby Holler
Ruby Holler
Sharon Creech

Dallas and Florida have been together since they were found on the steps of Mr. and Ms. Trepids orphanage. The girl, Florida is a rebel she will not do any thing the Trepids say. The boy Dallas is a quite and peaceful who also likes nature. One day a couple named Tiller and Sairy go to the Trepids orphanage, and see Dallas and Florida they decide that they want to adopt them. So the next day the twins go home with Tilller and Sairy. When they get there the twins are amazed, the warm little house in the country is so different from the cold orphanage they are used to.

I really liked this book because I have read all the other books by this author and really liked them so it was no surprised after I read it that this was a very good book. I also liked it because the way the author uses detail in explaining the characters, and by the end of the book you feel like you really know. I would really recommend this book to people who are fans of Sharon Creech.

Not Bad!!
This was a great book. Not my fave Sharon Creech book, but quite good all the same. It is about twins Dallas and Florida. They are nicknamed the trouble twins. They have been booted from tons of foster homes. The Home they live in now is not a good one.

But then daydreaming Dallas and forceful, crabby Florida get sent to yet another foster home. They try not to get too close to the old couple, but they realize that they like living there in Ruby Holler.

Through trips with the couple, the twins reach into their hearts and spill the feelings that have been welling up inside them.
Not a bad book. I've read better, but still very good.

Newbery Honor? Possibly.
This is a great book by Newbery Medal winning author Sharon Creech.
The story is about 13-year-old twins Dallas and Florida who live at the Boxton Creek Home Orphanage, run by the awful Trepids. They have lived at many foster homes but always brought back to the orphanage. "Nothing but trouble," the adoptive parents say. "Nothing but trouble." That's how they became "the trouble twins".
Tiller and Sairy are a 60-year-old couple whose kids are long gone. They want to go on an adventure while their bodies are still strong enough to climb a mountain, etc. Tiller and Sairy find Dallas and Florida at the Boxton Creek Home and take them on adventures.
Sharon Creech's latest book is bound to enchant lovers of "Bloomability", "Absolutely Normal Chaos", "Chasing Redbird", and "Love That Dog", some of her other novels. Be sure to read this.It is definitely Newbery material. I strongly recommend it.

Real disappointment. Book filled with black & white photos.
Santa Fe decorating style is an inviting decor which overlaps several regions with warmth and a comfort feeling. Although this book, SANTA FE STYLE, has an inviting cover and beautiful color photographs, it is filled with black and white photos of interiors as well...too many for the cost of this book. Overall has a "dated" look to it, oversized fonts and poor use of white space, and photos are often lost in the center bindings...all a major distraction to this book. Consider Mexican Country Style by Witnyski & Carr.

A New Appreciation.
This book is a good introduction to the Santa Fe Style, and covers all aspects of it from historical to the present. There are lots of great colour photo's and lots of old B&W photo's also. I just bought the book for information on the famous Boulder House, but after reading it I came away with more of an appreciation of the architecture, interiors, and culture of Santa Fe.

History and Great Ideas
The book was just what I was looking for, history of the Santa Fe style and great ideas for the adobe home I am planning on building in New Mexico. I have the plans, and needed the details, ideas for windows, corbels, portales, carving on the wood work, etc, etc. I came away with a whole notebook full of ideas! It is a beautiful book with over 450 gorgeous photos. Chock full of interior and exterior decorator ideas.

Cahinsaw Sculptor:The art of J. Chester 'Skip' Armstrong
This book is a fine addition to any admirer of contemporary wood sculptor. Sherman offers a unique insight into the thought behinde Skips' carving. A thought provoking book that took me as a chainsaw carver to a new level. Fine pictures of Skips magnificent work and humorous stories of Skips life. The story of how this artist took the focus from the saw to the increadible pieces of art that can begin with the chainsaw. The only thing I would have liked more would be a larger version of this book.

Awesome Angels Show Christmas Spirit!
As a huge fan of TBAA, I absolutely adored this book. It is very similar to the video (which I also own) and the book is full of beautiful pictures from the show. The only thing real different from the book that I noticed was that in the book the male angel's name was Adam, not Andrew. Don't let this confuse you. The picture is John Dye, who charmingly portrays Andrew. The actual name of the angel is not important. Only his message from God is. I highly recommend this book to everyone who believes in Christmas and miracles. The story is about God's love and that can be shared (and felt) anytime of the year.
