A very lovely cookbook full of recipes for delicious dishes.
This exciting cookbook presents a sampling of the artist's Georgia O'Keefe's favorites dishes. The author worked for Ms. O'Keefe for several years. The recipes are not complicated. I have made several of the dishes and all have been delicious! I highly recommend this book! Doug Moring

Simple, natural and delightful.
Lavishly sprinkled with black-and-white photographs of the artist as well as full-color food photos, A Painter's Kitchen is a feast for the eyes as well as the mind and the stomach. MAIL ORDER GOURMET

More than just a cookbook.
Through anecdotes, personal recollections of conversations, black-and-white photographs of Georgia O'Keeffe, full-colored shots of the simple, but elegant food displays, and the unpretentious, sometimes austere recipes of Miss O'Keeffe's favorite foods, one gets a very personal, warm feeling about this celebrated artist. Covered in Fairy Dust
This is a delightful book for children of all ages. I'm a grandmother, and I loved it. I passed it on to my grandchiuldren and they loved it.

Because it's done as a CD-ROM, there's an added touch of magic to it. Let's face it. This is the computer age, and being able to read a book on the computer screen is the "NOW" way of doing things, especially if you're a child.

As I crossed the Sunny Meadow and entered the Shady Woods with Caroline and Grandmother Elizabeth, I knew - I just knew - there were adventures coming, and I wasn't wrong. Adventure after adventure after adventure with daring Bluebell and her fairy friends.

Margaret Hamill has written a story that appeals to the child in all of us, that child who has always wanted to believe in magic and the little folk.

Delightful drawings and gentle music all add to the beauty of the book. when You've finsihed reading it, you'll feel like you've danced with the fairies and been caught in a shower of Fairy Dust from Bluebell's magic (and often lost) wand!

Author's Review
In this book, Spilled Fairy Dust, Bluebell's Adventures in the Shady Woods, I introduce you to Bluebell, a tiny flower fairy with an 'attitude'. She is not your conventional flower fairy, flitting happily from blossom to blossom, sipping nectar, and nourishing the flowers. Bluebell likes adventure. She craves excitement, and she goes to look for it. She often gets herself into trouble and has to call on her animal and human friends to help her out. If you have never seen a fairy I'm sure Bluebell would tell you, "Well, we're here. If you can't see us, it's because you don't believe in fairies." Bluebell has been a member of our 'extended' family for many years. My older sister introduced her to us over forty years ago when she jotted down a few short stories and tucked them away in a drawer. The stories were given to me after my sister passed away. They lay in a box for years, and finally, when I pulled them out a couple years ago, Bluebell roused from her sleep, shook her magic wand at me, and muttered, "It's about time! I've been closed up in this box for much too long. I'm going out to find an adventure." And away she flew. When she returned she told me everything that happened, and I have written it down for today's children. The CD-ROM format is perfect for this little book. Children who want read a book alone can click on the difficult words in this story and a gentle voice will say the word for them. If they are ready for a short nap at the end of a chapter, a soft lullaby is played by clicking on a picture of a rose. The beautiful illustrations for each major scene were painted by J.S.Felt. This is a book children can keep on their shelf and go back to at any time to read without adult supervision. They can take it to school and share it with their classmates during 'computer time'.

Beard's Massage
This book covers everything a massage therapist needs to know, things I wasn't even taught in massage school. If you want to know it all, get this book. It is wonderful and I plan on using it as THE massage book for the massage school I am opening this year.

Little Quack is the cutest!
I discovered 'Little Quack' at a school library and fell in love with it. Even though it is about 9 reading levels below me, the illustrations are absolutely adorable. Maybe I'm just nuts, but I think the adventures of Jacky, Blacky, and Little Quack are simply darling.

The most thorough book covering Norwegian Rosemaling!
This book, although out of print, I have found to be the most thorough and informative book regarding Rosemaling in Norway. From the beginning of the way it developed in Norway, in the 1700's, to its present-day use world-wide, I found the book very interesting, with many pictures to demonstrate the information being given. As it is out-of-print, I first found it at my library and had to wait some time to be able to borrow it. As a teacher of traditional rug hooking, and not painting, I am interested in it as a way to learn (and teach) the interpretation of this art in rug hooking patterns. There is a wonderful, both in written word and pictures, description of how to form the beautiful and graceful swirls of this art. As I have had to wait each time I want to study the book again, I am attempting to purchase my own copy of this book in order to have it at my disposal when I need to check out my designs, to make sure they are proper to the area, whether Telemark or Rogaland, etc., in my interpretation of the designs. I have purchased several books on the subject of Rosemaling; none are as thorough in the description of how it evolved through the centuries, and the different main types of rosemaling still practiced, both in Norway and now throughout the world. The books I have purchased are much smaller books, teaching several types of designs for painting. None give the background information regarding how the art evolved and developed in Norway. It is in my estimate the best source of information about Norwegian Rosemaling in print.

Charming biography of America's premier wood engraver
This biography is written by family members of Cole, who is regarded as America's premier white-line wood engraver. An autobiographical introduction starts this colorful summary of Cole's life and work. From humble immigrant beginnings, he rose to the top of his craft by the end of the 19th century. The book is illustrated with a selection of his finest work, largely from his work on European masters. The text is of interest to art historians, but also has a general appeal as an intriguing biography of an accomplished engraver who travelled Europe in search of masterpieces to render in wood. He then presented the essence of the paintings to the American audience through magazines such as Scribner's and Century.

comprehensive and thorough
This is an excellent source for the serios student of vernacular architecture. Noble's book is thorough. He introduces the reader to the evolution of barns and catagorizes barnes by ther ethnic orgin - i.e. German Barn; English Barn. The book contains many photos, but as imoprtant are the plan and section diagrams that Noble provides. This is an excellent sourcebook.

Frustratingly brief presentation
While the book presents numerous types of agricultural buildings from all over the U.S., it doesn't go into any sort of detail about any of them, making it of limited reference use.

Fantastic Book on Barns!
For what I wanted the book for it is a fantastic resourse. I build model barns and covered bridges. This book has not only given me new ideas but also a history behind them. Love the book.
