A Fun Book!
This book was wonderfully funny and enjoyable. Freckles, the main character is a clumsy idiot around the man she loves, and both are afraid she's going to kill him! But when she forgets to be nervous around him, she's warm and caring and very lovable herself. I very much enjoyed reading this book. There were some drawbacks for me, though....I would have preferred this book to be longer and deeper. I wanted to have more description and a better feel for the setting and characters. I also would have liked the author to have explored the heroine's relationship with her family more instead of having it tossed in at the end. But, in retrospect, I don't think the author was trying to make any profound statements, but rather give the reader an enjoyable read. And she succeeded very well. I would definitely recommend this book for a quick, funny read.

For Love of Hawk
My favorite,{so far}, of the McCade Brothers books. Julian "Hawk" McCade has a lot to learn about families. And Susan "Freckles" Learn is just the person to teach him. This book was a lot of fun to read! The "accidents" that keep happening over and over are hilarious. But once Susan learns to relax around Julian they find that God has placed them in each other's lives for a purpose. I love all three of the McCade brothers! This is truly a good, lighthearted read, but don't miss the depth that Cheryl has woven into the story.

A great book
This book reminded me of my family, funny, silly and makes you smile a lot. I'm a teenager and would tell all my friends to read it. Freckles makes the story one to remember.

Myshelf.Com Book Reviewer
Schoolteacher Tessa Stranridge needs a means of financial support in order to live in Hill Creek. A friend offers her the solution to her predicament of opening up her home to local accident victim, Drake Slater. Her responsibilities would include attending to his needs and teaching him how to read again. Upon meeting Drake, she is surprised to realize how handsome he is. Before her is a man capable of reeking havoc in her calm, ordinary world.

Drake Slater was gravely injured when he was thrown from his horse and savagely attacked by a raging bull. He relies upon the assistance of Tessa Stranridge in rebuilding his life. Tessa is able to feed his newly-found, spiritual hunger, with knowledge that has been foreign to him for so long. With her calm, tranquil nature, she is the type of medicine he finds himself craving in order to make a successful recovery.

Cheryl Wolverton seems to write with a higher power guiding her pen. Her extensive talent enables the reader to fully appreciate the story as it unfolds. I enjoyed the characters of Tessa and Drake. I found it very memorable that Tessa was able to look past the outward scars that Drake had and concentrate more on healing the inner ones. This book is for anyone that appreciates the treasure that love is capable of providing.

excellent
If you love the Christian message in steeplehill books...you'll love this one...Excellent message to those who have had a broken heart! loved it and shared it with my friends!

Healing Hearts - A Synopsis
Hurting and hiding from her past, Tessa Stanridge enjoys teaching children in Hill Creek, Texas. Working with children is safe, a place she doesn't have to risk her feelings. Little does she realize that is about to change.

Sexy Single Rancher who was innjured when a bull did a two step on him, Drake Slater is working to recover from near death. Learning to walk and talk is only a small part of what he has to accomplish. He also has to re-learn to read.

With his newfound faith and his new teacher--Tessa, (who needs the money of a summer job and is coerced into teaching him), Drake has no idea the impact he's about to make in the teacher's life. Nor the impact she'll make in his.

This is a love story about faith and rediscovering your first love. The zany secondary characters are back along with Tessa's on fetish for animals--a veritable zoo in her home of lizards and a cat and puppy, Myrtle the turtle, a parrot and the list goes on. A touch of humor combined with the gentle developing relationship as both people heal--physically and emotionally--make this one of my favorite books so far.

Fun read
I must say that this was a fun book...the author does a great job of creating realistic HUMAN characters in a story which is very realistic.

heart warming
I fell in love with this series several years ago. Some are unforgettable and some not so hot. This book warmed my heart and even made me cry. I have read it several times over and it never fails to pull on my heart strings. Id encourage you to read it. It shows a love we all hope to find.

Maggie&Jake learn-God's path isn't always the expected one.

Maggie was pregnant, alone, and lost until Jake, the minister of the town, reached out to her in her most desperate hour. As Maggie renewed her faith, Jake learned that following your own dreams isn't always the path that God has mapped out for you.

Once again, Cheryl has captured the power of the love of God intertwined with personal love. "A Mother's Love" will make you want to reach out with your heart to protect Maggie and Jake as they learn the lessons of life.

Forgiveness
This book is great. Cheryl Wolverton does an excellent job delving into how tough it is sometimes to forgive ourselves and others. She also shows how pride keeps us from connecting with other people. It is a beautiful story about how God can work out the best in people's lives.

The Best Christmas ever is one of Cheryl Wolverton's Best
This is one of my favorite of Cheryl Wolverton's books. I love the characters and the way Cheryl brings them together to make them a family. I especially like that none of the characters come across and being "perfect" or without flaws. Sarah and Justin each have "issues" they must deal with before they can give themselves the way God intends. I really love Mickie, she kind of reminds me of myself! This is truly a good read!

Well-written, interesting, inspirational
Congratulations to Cheryl Wolverton on her skillful handling of a difficult situation in A MATTER OF TRUST. Dealing with a blind hero could have led to pity on the part of the reader, but the author presented the hero as a macho man, in spite of his disability. There was a careful blend of the inspirational theme and the physical attraction between the hero and the heroine. I found the book entertaining, educational and heartwarming.

GREAT BOOK!
A Matter of Trust is a great read! I couldn't put it down. I loved how the author, Cheryl Wolverton, mentioned the unconditional love and support that God always has for you. I can't wait to get the rest of her books!

This Side of Paradise (Love Inspired)

The humor and action kept me from putting the book down.
Jennifer Rose, the heroine, is an eternal optomist. With God in her life she seems to always look on the bright side. As long as there are no snakes in her vicinity!!!

Gage Dalton, the pilot in this adventure, is pessimistic and doesn't trust ANYONE. They butt heads from the start. (True antagonism throughout the beginning of the book!!)

Jennifer is on a mission and Gage thinks her agenda should be secondary to what he feels must happen after they crash land.

The jungle trek is hilarious. All the time together wears off some of the antagonism but builds tension in other areas. Both Jenny & Gage are attracted to each other.

I enjoyed this selection, and her previously published two books. I am anxiously awaiting Cheryl's next book, "The Best Christmas Ever", due out in November.

Non-stop action with the lesson of learning to trust God.

Cheryl has created a story which will not only hold your interest but also make you want to hold on to your seat as Gage and Jennifer go through the trails of learning to trust while trying to avoid being shot in the wild jungles. The message is clear. Trust in God. Trust in the love of God. For He is always watching over you. Helping you to find your true path.

I promise that you will enjoy this book as much as I did.

good message
The characters aren't perfect and that's what I liked the best about it. Its just very poorly written and the books are so small! The distributor is harlequin (the people behind those trashy romance novel), and they recently started their inspirational line of books for Christian readers, obviously to make money. Its just annoying.

great
This book features a young woman who's obviously on the run. Not from the law, but from her past. Will she be able to slow down and live life peacefully with the guy she's fallen for? Well you can find out by reading the book, and even though the book is very small and predictable, I liked it. The book is very contemporary and avoids cliches.

great book
this was a great book th read I really enjoy reading this author's books.

A roller coaster of emotions
You want to laugh one moment and cry the next. The medieval festival was especially humorous. Rachel concern for her daughter shows through on every page. A must read for anyone who enjoys a good laugh and a good cry.
