For a recent trip we bought quite a few sticker books for our toddler, and I thought this one was very good. Over forty stickers augment a variety of activities including tracing, matching, recognizing patterns, coloring, sequencing, series completion, comparing, categorizing and even a little maze. Illustrations are very colorful and show Caillou in a wide variety of situations with Rosie and others from the television show familiar to kids. Notes to parents detail the skills involved on each page. It's not that easy to find activity books geared to preschoolers, and these are exceptionally well done. They really helped make our trip a pleasant one, and we will definitely get more in this series for our next outing!

Simply the best activity book I have seen. My advanced 4 yr old consumed the 4 caillou activity books in the Merry go round series in a few days.

I find this book the definitive source of information about the personal views of Olivier Messiaen. Claude Samuel seems to be well aquainted with Messiaens music and poses interesting and thought-provoking questions to the maestro. The book contains passages about bird-song and greek poetry wich are quite fascinating for a layman. Also quite curious are some of Messiaens personal opinions on some of the most important composers in history. There is enough facts about Messiaens music to satisfy even those who are allready familiar with his works. The book is written in an understandable manner, yet deep enough for musicians and scholars to get a lot out of it.

This book is the definitive source of information about Messiaens personal views and opinions. Claude Samuel, the interwiever, is apparently quite familiar with Messiaens works and sets intelligent and thought-provoking questions to the maestro. Messiaen talks about his compositional techniques in an understandable manner, yet deep enough to satisfy the need of professional musicians as well. Delightful information is also given about Messiaens pupils and peers: Boulez, Xenakis and Stockhausen. Also somewhat surprising are his (often quite cruel) personal opinions about some composers who normally are considered to be some of the most influential in history. Also for a non-ornithologer there is a fascinating passage about bird-song and its influence and application to Messiaens music. I deeply recommend this book to everyone even remotely interested in one of the most important musical figures of the 20th century.

I picked up the book for the great photography of the beautiful individuals! Yet, after I got the book home, I began to read....and the enjoyment was so satisfying. Delightful tidbits of real life secrets for us all, no matter what age we are experiencing. In a society that does not honor the elderly, this book gives the reader insight into the real jewels of life we forget to honor.

I tried to buy this book a while ago. It went out of print or I couldn't get it. It has been a while since I've seen a Delphi Book by Mr. Weiner. I'm shocked that it's here. Mr. Weiner is a excellent writer of computer books. He always covers a computer language in great detail. I was impress with seeing his coverage of Delphi before the book went out of print. Then I bought his Eiffel Book and was blown away. So I know this book is going to leave a mark. Warning! This book may be a hazard to your social life. I want it!

I was privileged to know the author and can attest to the depth of his faith and the joy of his singing. This book reveals a life well lived and shared with so many others. I'm grateful to own it.

I bought this book before my Medicine rotation (on a deperate, misguided "what if I don't have enough information for this 'oh so important rotation'" impulse) and regretted it. I barely used it, and I much preferred Current. I found that the information was not particularly easy to find. It read more like a storybook. I felt it was time-intensive but not detailed (not like Harrison's). However, it is really a matter of personal preference. Some may like the many diagrams, flow charts, and tables that are given. It also gives a quick review of the relevant basics (pathophysiology, anatomy, etc.). My advice: by the time you get to your Medicine rotation, you should already know your study style and should choose the most appropriate book in accordance. Go to the bookstore and compare the books and see which appeals the most to you.

The only minus this book has is that it is not as thorough (in scope) as Kelley's text is.

I first bought this book in Medical School and I still use it almost every week after 14 years. It is thorough and consise-- provides a bit of theory and a lot of practical information in a scholarly style. If youre a reader, get this book-- you may find yourself reading a reference book in your spare time. I would like to go to a physician who used Cecil Medicine as a reference. If youre not a natural reader, forget it and just buy the latest copy of the Washington Manual.

This book provides good coverage of basic DSP principles as well as some novel treatment of specific DSP problems. It is modeled after the author's excellent active filter network book, separately reviewed. Due to its broad coverage, the book fails to dig deeply in certain areas. However, it does provide a very practical treatment of DSP that is useful to the practicing engineer as well as the student.

I am an ex graduate student (Masters and Doctoral) of Prof. Lindquist. The Adaptive and Digital Signal Processing book is an excellent core text for graduating Electrical Engineering Seniors and graduate students attempting to specialize in the field of Signal Processing.

The book is also an excellent source of information for Biomedical Engineering students studying Biomedical Signal Applications. The text vastly yet concisely covers the basics of Laplace and z-transforms to Digital Fast Fourier Transform applications. Many years of industrial applications and academic research from Dr.Lindquists students over the years have also been incorporated into this book.

This book is a definite must for Academic Professors, Industrial Professionals and Electrical Engineering students interested in the field of Digital Signal Processing and Digital Signal Processing applications and can very well be compared with pioneering books such as those by Oppenheimer.
