Also known as The Lost Princess
This book is definitely worth reading for people of all ages. Its contents are thought provoking and life changing. In this story, a wise woman intervenes in the lives of two very spoiled girls. They are spoiled in different ways, and come from very different backgrounds: one is a princess, and one is a shepherd's cherished daughter. The wise woman takes these girls and gives them a chance to change. It is exciting to read and find out who will change for the better.

OK book, for ideas at least.
I've read through this book and found it a decent book for ideas about various tricks to teach your dog. However, it gives you very little info about how to train your dog! Nor does it prepare the unitiated with the typical responses that you might expect from your dog during the initial training phases, or how to react to various situations.

Finally, the book is dated. Written in the late 70s it doesn't cover newer trainer methods. Some of there methods could really use updating (i.e. there is very little in the way of motivational training, mostly corrective training is used. If you and your dog want to have fun shouldn't it be a little less work for them?).

I highly suggest skipping over this book, unless you need help in new trick ideas and are confident that you and your pooch can work well together.

There are a few other books out there that are newer and stress the fun aspect of dog tricks much better than this one did.

This book is a blast!
If you have a smart dog (like my Bo Diddley-LOL!) you will love teaching the tricks described in this book to the delight of your friends and family!! What a fun book!!

a fun AND educational book!
Many books exist about understanding and training dogs. But THIS one is something else! The whole slant of Dog Tricks involves how to teach you and your dog how to have fun with each other in clever and amusing ways. Everything from training your dog how to give you a kiss (begin with a smear of butter on your cheek!) to snatching (and running away with) your chess opponent's rook is covered with a wonderful mix of elegant simplicity and silly shared amusement. Dog Tricks is really the one book to get if you want to learn the potential of "a really good time with a dog!"

AN EXCELLENT SYNOPSIS OF WARFARE AND ITS SOCIETAL EFFECTS
_Men in Arms_ represents a unique work--in just under 400 pages of text, the authors have managed to produce a work which presents the reader or student with a fine overview of warfare from the Ancient Greeks to the advent of operations other than war in the late-1980s/early 1990s.

Naturally, in attempting to cover a subject so broad in such a relatively small amount of space, there are bound to be those who find fault with the work as it cannot hope to cover each of the periods in particularly great detail. To bemoan these shortcomings would be to lose sight of the book's intrinsic value to beginning students of warfare, as well as those endeavoring to study an unfamiliar period.

The division of the book into 22 logically divided chapters aids in this type of use, providing the reader with an understanding of the essential elements of war through the ages and its attendant effect on Western society as a whole. _Men in Arms_ is an excellent introductory text and--though the absence of footnotes was sorely felt by this reviewer--the bibliography, which is divided into subject areas by chronological sequence, will point the interested reader in the direction of other, more detailed texts.

A waste of money
I recently received and read Arthur Witebsky book Golf's Little Instruction Book what a bunch of [junk]. The title should be changed to Golf Instruction for Idiots not Dummies. An example is on page 30 Ladies Hit First I do not know what courses Arthur plays but the majority of courses I play and have played have the ladies tees further down the fairway which would slow down the game and also endanger the ladies be in harms way from someone hitting from the back tees???? I also tried calling phone number listed on page 105 for the USGEA answering machine
voice on answering machine said it was Baboo Ababoo??

Clever, simple and wonderful
[...] This book was not meant to shave off a few strokes from one's game. I enjoyed breezing through the pages and found the little tid bits to be very clever and amusing. I received this book as a gift and will be sending many out as gifts.

Clever, simple, wonderful
Apparently [another reviewer]...has never read other "...instruction books". He must have thought he would buy this book and shave off a few strokes....This is a very clever little book that should be of interest to anyone who enjoys the game...novice or pro. I am not a big golfer but enjoyed breezing through the pages, which are chock full of little tid bits on the game. I received it as a gift and will send many out as gifts.
